May 1, 2012I use my Mac at work (as well as at home). I have 2 calendars- 'Work' is connected to my Exchange account. 'Home' is synced through iCloud. For some inexplicable reason, when I get a repeating meeting invite from a customer (who is using Google calendar in their company) to my work Exchange mail account the invite goes a bit nuts. Basically the invite goes into my 'Home' calendar and sets me as the meeting organiser! So... now I have a meeting invite, that I cannot remove, in the wrong calendar.If I remove it it threatens to send out meeting cancellations to all (20!) of the attendees! Needless to say I will not be in a good place if that happens! So my challenge to you all- how on earth do I hack this meeting invite out of my iCloud calendar? From searching around there seems to have been an application, called iCalpone, that could do this, but it is no longer available.

Aug 21, 2010So a while back I had final cut pro installed, and eventually deleted cause I no longer needed it. I used AppCleaner when removing to try and make sure I got it all.
Well every time I do a software update it wants to install "Pro Applications Update" and "Prokit Updates" Which are updates for final cut pro and its related apps.
Any idea how I can stop it from wanting me to install these updates for something I no longer have?

Jun 19, 2009Just upgraded to the iPhone OS 3.0 on my 1st gen iPod Touch and when I turn the volume up whilst it's in the iPod Hi-Fi, the volume dips when I've finished turning it up... When I push the volume up again the volume slider on the iPod touch then moves down to where it dipped.it's quite hard to explain! Basically, when I turn the volume up to 50%, the sound dips to 25%.... the slider still shows 50% until I press the volume up button and it would move the slider to 25%. (If I wanted to play my music at 50% I would have to turn it up to 75% and wait for it to dip to 50%!)I have reset the iPod touch and restored it but the problem still exists. OS 1.0 and 2.0 didn't have this problem. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a solution?

Nov 12, 2009My girlfriend and I attended the Toronto Raptors game last nightFor those of you from Toronto, we parked below the Novotel Hotel on the Esplande. Since both of us were coming from work we had are valuables in the trunk. (we both placed are stuff in the trunk prior to arriving at the location). Well when we arrived back to the car we noticed the back passenger side window was smashed in and the trunk was empty. We weren't the only ones who were robbed in that lot, there was at least one other car that was broken into according to the hotel staff. The police seem to think it was a drug addicts looking for items to sell for drugs and that it is not a coincidence that it was during a Raptors game. The lot has no cameras due to construction being done, so for those in Toronto who frequent Leafs or Raptors games do not park there, it's a cheap alternative but not worth the risk.

Jun 9, 2008I've just noticed that in my Finder window sidebar, under "Shared", I have a character called Thomson listed. I don't know any Thomson and I bought the machine, an MBA, brand new. However, I did have an engineer instal the machine in my apartment and can only assume he's the mysterious Thomson. Anyway, whoever he/she is, I don't want him/her on my machine as Shared & "connected as guest". The point is, I cannot find a way to delete Thomson!! Can anyone help? I've tried System Preferences>Security and Accounts and there's no trace of Thomson there. Right clicking on Thomson in the sidebar of Finder only gives me the option to Open and Get Info. Most annoying, this. There MUST be a way to delete a Sharing but totally unwanted guest....

Aug 27, 2008I am by far not computer savvy and I own a G4 running OS 10.3.9. I recently bought a new iPod nano for my daughter�s 9yr birthday. This was all she wanted for her birthday. As I tried to get this going my G4 would not accept the new device. I later found out I need to purchase a system upgrade in order to use the iPod. I can barely afford the iPod let alone the extra $129.00 to use it. I feel financially violated and duped. I don�t know if I'm upset at Apple or Best Buy, or both, for not making it clear about this issue to the computer laymen�s, like myself, in the world before shelling out the hard earned cash to purchase the iPod nano. I am really upset and want to see if this has happened to others out there.
