On my iCal there are 3 boxes on the left side. One says "home", One says "Work" and the other says Windows PC. I would like to get rid of the Windows box and change the name and also add another box. Is this possible? How can it be done?

I did some googling and mroogling on this subject and I can't find anything relating to how it is currently. What I want to do is take my iCal icon and make it blue. Because of how the rest of my dock looks I think it would fit a little better. What is the modern method for doing this, and does anyone have a better quality blue iCal image than the one I found on google which was 64x64 and lost all the detail.

All has synced well for quite some time. Last night, I created appointment on iPad and in synced with all. This AM created appointments on iMac and does not sync. I have looked at the calendar in iCloud and new stuff is not there. I have checked to make sure all calendars are turned on and the the iMac calendar in checked in the sync menu.

After changing my iCloud password, iCal on one of my computers stopped syncing. I assume I need to enter the new iCloud password, but can't figure out where.Â

I use change my icons, at least the dock ones to make them look uniform. I usually manually change them, (copy, ctrl+i, paste) but for ical I had a problem. I did the normal routine and it did work. It changed the icon to what I wanted, until I opened the program. Then it changed it back to the default icon. So I used Candybar to do the samething, and the same thing happened. I did this for about 20 icons or so, and they all changed, except for ical. Well it did change initally but when I opened it, it reverted.
View 20 Replies View RelatedWhenever I make events in ical, it default creates an hour-long event. I find myself using ical's events more as a specific to-do list, so every day I would prefer these events to be "all-day." I'm getting tired having to tinker around so much whenever I make an event on a date, especially when there's multiple on every day. I've read online that apparently in 10.7(lion) that people are having the opposite problem and would prefer for events to be defaulted as a specific time frame.
I've read suggestions to open terminal and type in:
defaults write com.apple.iCal 'Default duration in minutes for new event' 15
Which brings me to my question: is there any way in the terminal to change it to automatically make events checked "all-day."

Is there a way to out-right remove the 'Leather' skins that Apple has used with iCal and Address book. We had a client jokingly ask us if we were working on kids computers the other day. Not impressed to say the least. We've read about the hacks floating around in the internet wilds but would prefer a Mac-enabled way of changing this. Why isn't this an option in the app preferences?

I know this is lame, but I searched and can't find a solution. When I click on a day in ical it says it is a Read-only calendar. I repaired permissions, but it still says read only. The strange part is, in the Get Info screen, it says Read-Write for all the users.
View 5 Replies View RelatedEverytime I upload that ical backup file... nothing happens in google calendar. It does nothing in Firefox... and safari I just get 0 was transferred. I just want to bring over my calendar to google. Does anyone know what is going on? Anything I am missing?
I just used the ical calibration tool to sync ical up with my google calendar and it works like a charm. I love how i can just click on dates in Mail and add them to my iCal which then pushes i to google calendar for my wife to see...that way i can sneak tennis or a round of golf in and she can't say she didn't know
At any rate-i would like to know if there's a way to pull her cal stuff to my ical. I can see all of her stuff on my google calendar, but i dont have the "right" to add her account to ical. I assume i could just have her enter in her login info - but i would like to know if that's the best way.
Trying to get them to talk to each other - I've input the Google account into iCal preferences, and it shows up fine. But I seem only able to sync one way - if I add an appointment in Google Calendar - then sync - it shows up fine in iCal. But if I add an event in iCal and then sync - it doesn't show up on the Google Calandar.
Loaded 10.6 last night and everything appeared to go well. However, when I opened iCal, ALL of my appointments, birthdays, events, etc. had disappeared. Unfortunately I had not backed up iCal before loading SL.
I have good SuperDuper backups of the system and I have Time Machine backups of everything, but I don't see a way to extract the appointment data from those.
I try not to have iCal running because I've got the Dateline app that stays on my desktop. Mousing over that will give me appts and such as I need to have them.
I've found, that opening iCal and messing with the input screen for a new event is kind of cumbersome, and I'm wondering if folks have found a good way to create new iCal events w minimal interaction with iCal itself.
Today 2.5 offers this as a feature, but it's $25. Macworld also had a tip, but running that Automator action opens up iCal in the background.
Are there any other solutions out there?
I cant get my mobile me ical to update ical on my MBP. It says in the ical settings that its connected to the mobile me account. What can I do to fix this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed windows 7 rc1 beta(32 bit) on my new june-2009 unibody 15'' mbp. Everything works great and I have parallels installed on my mac side so I can run both (and use bootcamp). Only problem is the windows drive shows up in osx as BootCamp so I tried changing the name from the windows side into something less obtrusive such as Windows 7. Problem is windows won't let me change the c drive title from BOOTCAMP to Windows 7. Everytime I type it in, it says "you require administrator privileges to confirm" so I click confirm but it just reverts back. Also, the audio levels in windows seem to be lower on max volume than in osx. How do I make them louder? Do I reinstall drivers?
