My father has the original airbook, and I love the size and design, but am aware that it had several major decision issues and limitations. Does the current version have enough power/capacity to effectively run Final Cut Pro? I'm much prefer this lightweight machine versus the macbook pro, but I don't want a meltdown everytime I try to edit a video.

Can all of the Macbook pros run final cut studio 2
View 2 Replies View RelatedI happened to have a spare 23" Cinema Display and I rather than getting another Mac Pro to run it, which I already have, I am wondering if I hook up the 13.3" MBP, can I still run FCP in it?
I am thinking of using it more of a machine for importing videos in the background, while I run the actual video editing work on my Mac Pro?
anyone using final cut express ver 3.5 or 4 on their macbook air first generation? i use that on my MBA and everything seems allright except takes damn bloody long for exporting to quicktime HD and rendering too.

Last Saturday, I purchased the 15" 2.53 GHz Macbook Pro (the new one that has the battery built into it). Everyone in the store told me it would run FCS2 fine, but after I checked online, it seems that may or may not be the whole truth. Here are the specs:
2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
250GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
SuperDrive 8x (DVD-R DL/DVD-RW/CD-RW)
SD card slot
Built-in 7-hour battery2
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
I need something portable so I can take the projects I'll be working on along with me and due to financial reasons, I neither want the 17" or the 15" (2.8 GHz) MBP. I have a 1TB Firewire 800 WD external HDD, so I'm not worried about space. What I am worried about is rendering speed and such. So, my questions are:
1. Is this MBP sufficient enough to run FCS2?
2. Should I keep this same MBP but upgrade to the 7200rpm drive?
3. Should I pony up another $300+ and get the 2.66GHz MBP with the 7200rpm drive?
4. Taking into account what I've said, what is my best configuration to run the FCS2 suite?
can i run on it?
here is the specification.
2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
320GB 5400-rpm hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor
4GB memory
I'm considering to buy Final Cut Express. Can I upgrade to FNC Pro from FNC Express if I want? Do I need to pay full price for FNC Pro if I want to upgrade or do I get discount if I upgrade from FNC Express to FNC Pro?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering if (as described in the subject) has an answer? I am currently shopping for the "Final Cut" program and have heard that "Version 6" might not be compatibel with the "MAC OS X Lion 10.7" operating system.
Info:
Final Cut Pro 6, Mac OS X (10.7), Blah.
I need to upgrade to Lion (currently running 10.6.8) to keep my email address and .mac syncing etc. I know other users have had a lot of problems with thier software after the upgrade. So do:
final cut 7.0.3
final draft 8.0.1
photoshop 12.0
work with Lion?
when opening in 'program' it says it's not recognizing

My old Mac drive died and bought a Air. Trying to install Final Cut but bumping into error on trying to install Studio. I have an upgrade to Pro but I have been told that I need to install Studio first. I have all the original disks.

I just updated to Final Cut Pro X 10.1.3. FCPX is not responding. It has the spinning wheel going. Now it is not functioning at all!Â
In the Activity Monitor it shows 2 programs as "(Not Responding)" Those are: Final Cut Pro and Codec32BitTool. Â
When I open the FCPX program, it seems that the spinning wheel starts as soon as I try to preview a clip. I have tried using new projects, projects updated from 10.1.2, and I have also tried with a new user. All have the same result. Not responding!!! Â
If only I had not updated some critical projects to 10.1.3, or I would simply revert back to 10.1.2.Â
I am using a 2011 Mac Pro, 16GB RAMÂ

I have MAC Book Pro 2.8 GhZ intel core i7 with 16 GB Ram OS X 10.9.3 . Working on my Final Cut Pro X 10.1.1 but I can't seem to make a Duplicate on external HD to be shared on my iMac late 2013 model...
It only copies it on the same HD.... I would like to work my project on both MAC if I could.. I have WD Passport 2 TB on USB 3
Also will this computer with 4 gigs work good with GarageBand as a recording studio computer.
I would like it to run Final Cut Express shooting SD standard definition and Garageband to the max.
I own a MBP June 2009. I'm about to calibrate the batt.
After you let it sleep for 5 hours... you have to charge it up to full...
Can I turn it on and use it while it's charging up? or should I leave it on sleep?
I have an early '08 2.1GHz Macbook. I'm about to buy Final Cut Express 4, but I'm wondering how well it'll perform on there, since I'll be editing a good bit of HD footage.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLong story short my Uni is buying me a mac. I've got to order it asap so can't wait any more for an update. They are putting 1150 towards it. I intend to use it for various things including running final cut pro.
What I want to know is will the 2.5Ghz model with only the 9400m graphics card and a 7200rpm hard drive run final cut pro well, or will I notice a hell of a lot of difference from the higher spec machines with the 9600m card and bigger processors?
I worked out that I would have to put in an extra 241 for the 2.8 or 136 for the 2.66, so it's not a great deal of difference, but I am not rich and I don't want to waste my money.
My Final Cut Pro x trial version keeps 'unexpectedly closing' when I try to edit an effect on a clip.I just bought this macboo pro last week.. I left PCs for similar reasons..2.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 .The FCP X trial was working fine.. I have 23 days left, and today it started closing unexpectadly..

I just bought the newest 13 inch MacBook Pro. I've read over all my specs and stuff it looks to be compatible with my macbook but every time I try to install it as a trial it just comes back with a message "unable to recognize" so does that mean its not compatible?
