We got (by mistake) a kid's digital camera (MiCam Junior) that only advertises itself as being compatible with Windows, and which uses some (supplied) Windows software to download the pictures...
At first I thought it was no big deal because most (real) cameras don't need special software but just behave pretty much like an external drive.
But for some reason, this one doesn't - it is not picked up by iPhoto or Image Capture...
What should I try next?
I can't transfer photos from my sony w-80 camera to iphoto (latest version). Never have trouble with my canon a470. What's going on?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am new to the iMac so I did a very dumb thing today. I have a Sony camera that burns the pictures right into a small camera CD. Well, I put it into the iMac on the side and now, not only did it not read... I can't get it out! Did this every happen to anyone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have spent the better part of an hour trying to rename a batch of pictures that I downloaded off my digital camera. As a recent switcher, it would have taken me a second to select the pics, right click, and rename them all in one batch. I was using Adobe's lightroom wich is really nice (free trial) and found it was going to be my picassa replacement (man do i miss that program) and I found that I need a plug in called bridge which only comes with photoshop which I dont have for mac. So.. anyone know how to rename 20 pics at a time. 2007 09 05 (1) 2007 09 05 (2) etc. who said changing over was going to be this hard. its like learning to ride a bike all over.

Surely this is a pretty standard feature in laptops now, particularly with Apple's obsession with iPhoto etcDoes it come as an option? How do you get your pics off your camera? You have to connect a usb cable from the laptop to the camera?

I am using an IMAC. I am facing the problem that sound is not coming from the inbuilt speakers. When i press the sound keys on the keyboard muted sign comes on the screen. I also chkd the system preferences but all options are Ok. I am unable to understand the problem. Either it is of the speakers, the keyboard or any hardware error?

I'm trying to connect to a remote Linux machine, which is running a VNC Server, from my Mac running Lion. I know there are third-party VNC clients but I'd like to use the built-in VNC client that is used for screen sharing. When I do a Finder Go to vnc:\<ip address>:5901, I get a screen sharing login prompt and it's asking me for both a username and a password. Normal VNC clients only ask for a password. I can't seem to connect even if I clear the username part and enter the just the password. I've confirmed that I can connect to the VNC server from a Windows box running TightVNC. When I run TightVNC on the Windows box, I'm only prompted for the VNC server password and it works fine. So what am I missing when using the built-in VNC client? Why is it asking me for a username? Is there a hidden VNC username on the server that I could supply that would get me past this?

I recently completely a wire pull from the network hub (Dell Power Connect?) in the office of a church, to a computer in a different room of the church. I plugged in the cat5e cable to the computer, it connects to the network, computers on the network can access it's public folders and remote access it, but the computer cannot browse the internet using the built-in ethernet plug. The wireless-internet on the computer allows me to navigate the internet just fine.
With the Airport turned off, and the ethernet plugged in, I can ping [URL] with 0% packet loss, but when I try to connect to google on Safari or Firefox it says that Safari/Firefox cannot connect to the server.
I have already tried using Qtips, other end of match sicks, cleaning the headphone jack with alcohol and a little jiggling with the other end of the plastic ballpen still ni audio from the Mac's speaker and the Built in output still active.

I'm having a problem using my Built -in Ethernet. I have iMac running Macosx 10.4.11. Everytime I connect a cable it doesn't register it in the Network Panel, It tells me that, 'The cable for Built - in Ethernet is not plugged in.' I have tried a couple of different cables, neither work, but they do work with my Macbook running Macosx 10.5.6. So I don't think there's a problem with the cables. Do I need to configure anything or should they work automatically as they do on the Macbook?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMessages keeps switching the conversation view from "Show Names and Pictures" to just "Show Pictures". This is in the menu under: View > Messages > Show Names and Pictures. I have to change it multiple times a day, including every time I open the app from a closed state.
This is very confusing in group iMessage conversations where all the iMessages are coming from the same grey silhouette icon. The issue is only happening on my Mac mini. It's not happening on my MacBook Air. Both are running Mavericks 10.9.3...So I keep changing the setting here, but it somehow just switches back to Show Pictures only:

Does anyone know of a decent web camera that can can fit/latch on the top of the MBP screen that I can use inplace of the default isight? The camera is really small and not so great in low light (the iPhone4's camera would be a better fit it seems).

The little green light of the iSight camera on my MacBook Pro 13" is always on. I can remove it by resetting the PRAM, but it always comes back. I have not found what app is triggering this so far. I am using Mac OS Lion 10.7.3.
