why I am getting a whitish color mark on my macbook screen. It is visible specially when view dark or greyish color pictures. It does not show when the laptop is closed.   Â

View 4 Replies View Relatedediting with FCPX. I imported the footage through Image Capture like I did when using iMovie. I then imported the footage from my desktop into FCP. When it's just showing the thumbnails, it looks bright, like it did on camera. But when I scrub through it, or play the video, it appears very dark. Almost like it's with a filter. I tried to mess around with the buttons near the view screen, but they didn't do anything. Is this a settings problem or a FCP problem, and how do I fix it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust got a new white MacBook yesterday (MB403LL/A) and have noticed, that depending on a slight change in viewing angle, pastel colors can get really distorted, even appearing as other colors, e.g., light green->gray and light orange to pink. One example would be Google calendar when editing an event. Looking at the screen in a normal position, the background appears gray, but when slumped down in my chair it looks green (the actual color). Is this a normal problem with MacBooks or could my display be defective? I took a couple snaps with iPhone that didn't turn out to hot but illustrate the point:

She has a trial account currently, so from what I understand is tomorrow I go buy the family pack box set, set up my account (which will be the master account), cancel her account (disable synching on her iPhone before hand), add her account under account options in my account, and viola.Now here's my question:Since we will both be on the same 'family pack,' will she be able to view my emails, find my iPhone, pictures, or anything else? And vice versa.What I'm hoping is that even though they are in the same family pack, you will have to log in with each specific account (via password) to see mail, contacts, etc

I have a problem with my screen - when there is something black on, I can see a faint mark of a lighter colour. I have tried to take a picture, please excuse the poor quality. There is nothing visible when the screen is off, even under close examination. Is it less visible when lighter things are on the screen, and invisible when the screen is white.
No drops or liquid spills. Will this go away on it's own? Any fixes?
I have a imac where there are suppose to be pictures i get a blue box with a question mark inside. it happens on both safari and firefox. it is as if the web page does not recognize that picture. I tried everything redownloading Flash Quicktime and java. I went to quicktime and made sure only the quicktime box is checked. it is like my pictures don't show up and are replaced with the blue box with the question mark inside. I am not the only one with this problem apple calles it the Blue box of death. I tried everything.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was forcibly migrated from DSL to Fiber Optic internet services (uverse) & ever since I am consistently seeing a small blue box with a white question mark in it where a picture should be. It is happening on multiple sites & it does it randomly only when I'm using my home router. If I am using another internet provider, it doesn't happen & I've checked a few forums & all of their solutions don't work for me. I was advised not to delete & reinstall Safari but I'm afraid it is only occuring at home that something is wrong with the services/router/signal because nothing else has worked. If I take it to the apple store or anything of the like, it will work so it's not as if I can "show" someone unless they're at my home.

Earlier today I copied my iPhoto library file and the iPhoto prefs file to from my Mac Pro to my MacBook (using Chronosync's "mirror" option), for a week away from home.
I've now come to using iPhoto on my MacBook, and noticed that the thumbnails for my modified pictures had reverted to thumbnails of the originals. Clicking on any of these modified images just brings up a large exclamation mark on a grey circle background.
I know that this normally means that iPhoto cannot find the relevant file in the library (usually because someone's been messing around in the library - which I haven't; I took a mirror image), but the odd thing is if I click on "Edit", the image I'm then presented with is the modified image, so it's still there and iPhoto damn well knows it.
I've tried opening iPhoto with alt-opt to get it to rebuild everything, but it hasn't made any difference.
I am attempting to connect my MacBook Pro to my TV to view a slideshow on my TV. I connecting the DVI - HDMI cord from my Mac to my tv. The desktop wallpaper is displayed on my TV, but I cannot view slideshow, pictures or anything else.

But when I go to my PICTURES folder under my user name in the finder, the only way to access the pictures is to open iPhoto. Is there a few to also have the files shown individually in my photos folder so I don't have to open iPhoto each time I want to view them?

The file "297275_10150338673995638_17125605637_10107621_387986_n.jpg" couldn't be opened because you don't have permission to view it. It tells me to go in finder and change settings...
But when I go it says 3 names: first one is read and write but it is not even my actual apple id, it was only for 2 minutes in the store when I bought it and then we changed the setting. Then there is "staff" in read only and "everyone" in read only. Even if I change it all to read and write it doesn't work, but anyway I am the only user of my computer... so whats up with that anyway?
I purchased a new iMac on July 2011 and it worked just fine. After a few of apples updates, I am no longer able to view most pics in safari and it also has trouble finding web page. Is it an osx issue so I can purchase lion? I am currently running the most recent snow leopard

I've been reading other support sites discussing this topic and I have yet to see anything that solves this issue. I have a DVD from a photographer with pictures on it. It works on a PC and a Mac running snow leopard. Lion WILL NOT read this DVD. It tells me it is a recordable DVD but does not show the pictures. I am highly annoyed that upgrading to this OS has created this issue. I don't want to go back to Snow Leopard just to view this DVD (and I don't know how to revert back to it either). I also don't want to put it on my ancient PC desktop just to view the pictures. My DVD player is just fine. It will play movies but not recognize the picture DVD.

I have a 17" MacBook Pro 2.16Ghz Core Duo with 10.6.2. I have an intermittent issue where half of the screen will go whitish with lines. View 2 Replies View Relatedbefore switching to Mac, I used an "X-Rite Eye One Display 2" color meter device with software. You can find them most places like Amazon for about $150. The device should still work, but I can't find any software for it for the Mac. After going to the X-Rite web site, I could find no software at all for the Mac as it is only windows based.
Surely someone out there has used a color meter such as this one as they are quite popular especially for graphics artists that use professional graphic monitors. I am hoping someone can tell me how to use my color meter (USB), what software for Mac Leopard I need and how to save the color profile in the Mac OS.

the first image i absolutely cannot see, it is 100% pitch black.. the other bellow it shows up just fine. But the two left/lowest squares on the color table on the very bottom the page both appear the same shade of pitch black.
I can see light but not dark. I tried callibrating and adjusting brightness and contrast.

I have an 09 Mac Pro Nehalem, with nvida gt120 graphics card running 10.6.2 with the latest mac pro 1.4 efi and two 23 inch Apple cinema displays (the older DVI kind)
I go into system preferences>displays>color and try to adjust color on my monitors but selecting different color settings on either monitor only affects ONE monitor, the other monitor is essentially stuck at whatever color setting it is set to.
When starting the iMac in the mornings, the upper strip of the desktop appears in the screen color instead of white. What could this be?

I installed iwork 08 and everytime i type the letters come in white. I tried changing the color font and everytime i try putting black it always comes up white but when i do it dark blue for example it shows dark blue, it shows every color except for black.

I can't delete e-mails, I can't mark them as read, and if I try to move an e-mail to another mailbox, it's copied, not moved.I've tried repairing disk permissions, and I've tried to remove the account and then adding it again ? but the problem persists. "Rebuild" in the Mailbox menu is inactive when this mailbox is selected, but works on my other accounts.The same account works fine on my iPhone; mails are getting marked as read and I can delete and move e-mails around. I went yesterday evening to the Apple store in Georgetown as I happened to be near by and checked out the new Airs. The keyboard letters look reflective bu the keyboard also looked somehow cheaper (which I guess it is truly). Tough to test the usability in the dark in the store, I tried to hover over it with my jacket (must have looked pretty stupid) but it is not a real live test.
