When I switch on my MacBookPro OX S Lion it stays on a grey page with the apple logo but that's all ,what do I have to do ?

my laptop (macbook pro) doesn't turn on, because the battery doesn't work (may be because of moisture), and the 7 battery lights on the left side are off, and when I plug the charger in, the light on the magnetic socket turns on so dim ..

It used to work for me when i press a combination of Ctrl+F2 to activate the menu bar, now it doesn't work anymore, even if i try a further key: Fn+Ctrl+F2.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to this, but since today the screen of my Macbook doesn't get out of it's dimmed status anymore. Whether I'm on adapter or battery, no matter what I do or press, the screen is dimmed [like pressing F1 till it's on 0 notches, so when the screen seems off, but you can still see if you look hard].
Even if I adjust the brightness, I can see the notches going up, even full, it doesn't change anything to the brightness. I tried restarting multiple times, also with command-option-p-r to reset it, but no luck.
Does anyone have an idea what I can try to fix this? Any idea what the problem might be?
where is the problem- my copy and paste doesnt work anymore. Neither shortcut cmd+c/cmd+v, nor any other way. I used it often and there was no problem before.

I've had my MacBook Pro for 2 years and my SD card always worked in it as did every other camera card that I have used. Recently my SD Card slot stopped working and i'm not sure if I go into the Apple store if they can do anything (i have an apointment on Saturday at 5PM)... basically my question is do you think they will have to replace my computer, or will i have to leave it there and they will repair it?Â

To provide some background on my issue, my portable hard drive format was NTFS, and I wished for it to be FAT-32. I was trying to transfer some files over from my Windows computer to my Mac, however it wouldn't work due to the formatting. To change the formatting, I used some third-party software and started the conversion (without formatting the drive so that I could keep all my files) however mid way through the process, my stupid laptop entered sleep mode and stopped everything. Â
When I tried to re-plug the hard drive in my Mac, it didn't show up in the finder, but the Disk Utility did find it. The model I have is the iStorage DiskGenie portable hard drive. Â

I am running Lion and iTunes 10.6.3 - and used the iTunes Album Artwork screensaver without problems. Until today, when screensaver suddenly couldn't find any album artworks anymore.

So a week ago I opened Photoshop and my macbook froze and gave me this screen:
I had to force it to shut down, and when I turned it back on, I'd get the chime, I'd see the logo and the spinning cog, then it would go to a white screen and either stall or shut itself off... I tried resetting the PRAM and SMC. I went into Disk Utility and verified the disk and the permissions. I also reset Photoshop's preferences, and completely reinstalled it. Booting in safe mode worked, but of course it's a little slow and I can't use some programs. I was able to start up normally by booting in single user mode and running the /sbin/fsck -fy command a couple times.Â
I ended up taking it to a Genius Bar, they ran a couple diagnostic tests and confirmed it wasn't a hardware issue and it was probably the OS. They reinstalled Snow Leopard, I restored my stuff with my Time Machine backup, and everything worked fine for a couple days.Â
But today when I turned it on, it shut itself down again! And running single user mode doesn't work anymore. It'll say "The volume Macintosh HD appears to be OK." and when I reboot, it shuts down at the white screen. Now the only way it will boot up is in safe mode, and if I close the lid to put it in sleep mode, it'll turn itself off after a few minutes.Â
I'm not incredibly tech savvy, but I'm wondering if it could be a third party program. I'm not sure how to find out which one is causing the issue, though... I've uninstalled SMCfanControl and StartupSound.prefpane. Those are the only two I can think of that could potentially mess with the startup...

My MacBook pro 15 doesn't turn on, I pressed the power buttom but nothing, no sounds, no lights, no signals of life. Only the battery bottom is responding and the battery is totally full. I bought it in April 2010 and the battery is not removable.

My MacBook Air was purchased in September 2011 and I've really enjoyed this computer. The complaint I have is that it wouldn't turn on about two weeks ago. I had to bring it to an Apple Store and the logic board was replaced. The service was good and it was a one day turn around time. Now the computer is down again with the same symptoms and I've tried the recommended procedures to try to turn it on without any luck.

My laptop was fully charged and it went to sleep. About an hour later, it's as if it is dead. The screen is black. I can't even turn it on. None of the lights are on. I plugged in my 2 old! charger and it won't been light up. I have had no problems with this charger and have tried different outlets. My laptop was fully charged so I don't understand why it's not turning on. I can't reset anything because it doesn't even boot up. I near how beeps and chimes. I let it charge for a while and still the charger isn't lighting il and the laptop won't turn on.

Since 2 days ICQ doesn't work together with iChat anymore. All I get is the prompt for entering the password. Password is correct and ICQ still works with Adium or ICQ2GO. iChat probably stopped working after I installed the latest security patch for MacOS Leopard.
Deleting the ICQ account in iChat and adding it again doesn't work. Neither does deleting the AIM.plist or changing the server to [URL] like it was suggested at the Apple discussion board.
I'd like to empty my trash, but it doesn't work anymore. The trash icon in my dock indicates that there are files in it, but when I click on it the Trash window appears, but the files don't show. The indicator at the bottom right just keeps on animating - it never stops, not even after several hours. furthermore, the "Empty Trash" option in the Finder menu is grayed out. The "Empty Trash" option in the trash icon's right-click menu is not grayed out. However, when I click it, a dialog appears for confirmation; I click on "Empty Trash" and nothing happens. When I list the files in my trash using the terminal (with the "ls" command), the files do show (and there is a considerable number of files). When I try to remove them, using the "rm" command, nothing happens; when I list the files again, they are still there. What must I do to get this mess fixed?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI wanted to restart my Imac G5, and each time at the gray screen with the little spinning wheel, just before it turns blue, the computer shuts down.
I started it up on the installer disk and tried to repair the disk with disk utility but my hard disk is not visible anymore
What can I do? I was in the middle of a project and hav'nt made all the backups!
my DVD Player doesn't start anymore. Along with some other applications(iChat, iCal, Expose, Automator) it all of a sudden is only displayed with the default application icon - the thing with the ruler and the brush and stuff.
The other applications seem to work fine except of the wrong icon thing.
When I try to start my DVD Player a popup comes up that says in bold letters ?? and underneath that ??10.
iTunes doesn't sync my Photos anymore.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to sync my iPhone 3G with my MacBook Pro (Agenda, Mail, iCal) with no problem. Then items from agenda and iCal began to appear duplicated. Couldn't find how to get rid of duplicates, so I deleted them by hand (one by one!). Next sync and now I have 600 contacts in my Mac, but 295 in my iPhone; 928 songs in my Mac, but 915 in my iPhone). I've tried everything I can think of (basically changing settings and restoring my iPhone) but nothing happens. After some syncs even a message appeared: "iPhone can not be syncronized because a disk is needed" or something of that sort.

P.S.: It doesn't show up in the disc utility
PP.S.: I tried two different hard drives in the enclosure, but all worked fine before Snow Leopard!

I have been having some issues since I updated to 10.7.3: My monitor does not sleep anymore and gets woken up every 45 secs. In this time I have hundreds of the following messages:Â 05.02.12 12:42:20,812 loginwindow: resume called when there was already a timer..Any idea what I can do to get this to work the way it used to ??? This is very very annoying and consumes energy for nothing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a bluetooth remote presenter. It has the usual keys (next, previous, volume, play/pause, start default music player) and it also has a small touchpad / trackpad with left and right buttons, scrolling buttons.Â
The remote is great and it served me well under Windows and OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. Now since I bought a new machine with Maverics, I can't pair it. The bluetooth utility looks different on Mavericks. Certain things missing, such as making Bluetooth discoverable or not in the way of simplification of things or oversimplification of things, where there seems to be no access to Bluetooth device details and no way to add device without pairing code.Â
The remote is recognized as mouse with keyboard, which makes things worse, there is not only no code on the device, even if there is one (or if it would except 0000, 0000000, or similar), I have no way to enter it.Â
Unfortunately Maverics made things simple but useless for some bluetooth devices. It's unnecessary.Â
Seems like I will be stuck with Snow Leopard on one of my machines forever.Â
When I look in console on SL, here is what I see:Â
2014-06-28 8:23:11.268 AM System Preferences[7658]: [establishKernelConnection] Received an error from IOServiceOpen() - 0x10000003. NULLing out io_service_t.Â
There is an entry like this every time I try to pair.Â
The Bluetooth manager window says -- "Pairing failed"Â
When I go to Options, it shows the field to enter code. No matter what I enter there or if I leave empty, I won't be able to pair.Â
Otherwise BT works fine on Maverics, I have Apple keyboard, Logitech kayboard, Apple and Logitech trackpad and audio device connected, no issue.Â
The Remote presenter works also fine and I tried to re-pair it with other non-Mavericks machines and works fine too. Â
