View 8 RepliesIt's going to be used mainly for work, which involves me having multiple programs at once open, including word, powerpoint, graphpad, endnote, internet, mail, and probably itunes.
Also, I play WoW and want to play SC2 on at least high settings ideally. I currently have a 24" monitor at home that I could either hook a laptop up to, or get a average gaming desktop.
I am looking for some fun and free casual games for the Mac. Any good ones? Perhaps a tower defence?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought Fallout 3 for the computer. It says that it is a "Games for Windows" game but I need to run it on my Mac (specs are in my signature). I have the newest version of VMware Windows XP and when I put the game in it automatically opens it up. When I try to play the game it works for the menu but the screen goes black when I click start and after a few seconds it goes back to the desktop. I have not done anything with boot camp assistant if that is important.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a whitebook, 64 mg intel gma950 chipset, and 2gb ram. XP is running on bootcamp and I was wondering if I could play the game "DJ Max Trilogy" before I bought it. According to the specs you need at least a Geofre 5700 which I think is 128 mb. Anyways, I've bought a few other games off of play-asia that had those same specs, but ran perfectly on my macbook. Can anyone confirm if this game will also work?

a friend showed me this game a couple days ago called curveball. since first playing i have become extremely addicted. on my windows laptop, I used to save flash games and movies that ireally liked to my computer by accessing them in my temporary files folder and by copying them to another location. i have tried to do a similar thing using safari and IE, but i can't figure out how to do it...
View 19 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to a Macbook Pro 15" with a mini displayport, and I decided I would share my LCD monitor with my windows box. The desktop box is connected with DVI and I have connected my Macbook through an HDMI adaptor from Moshi. Everything works very well, and I'm pleased with the quality of the output, but I'm having trouble with a screen flicker in full screen games.
When I select full 1080p (1900x1080) in any full screen game, the screen "shudders." It does not occur on the OS X desktop, and I can only explain it as a shudder. Lines and text shift perceptively left and right, and the game is unplayable. I have experienced this problem in Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft, and Half Life: Episode 2 so far.
Could the problem be with my monitor and the way it handles an HDMI signal? The Macbook is flawless otherwise, with no other issues of any kind. The "shudder" only occurs during full screen games set to 1900x1080. Lower resolutions are not effected and work fine...
I'm stumped.
Edit: I should add that I have no other 1080p capable devices to test the output with.

1. Could you recommend a good hardrive and ram please, I'm in the UK.
http://www.dabs.com/products/hitachi...3-5--4THP.html Would this be any good?
2. Bit of a vague question but, can you play any games on it? I mainly play on the ps3, but I do enjoy games such as Football manager and Empire: Total War would these run on it? If its been disscussed elsewhere links would be good
3. I'll need to put a copy of XP on to it unfortunatly and I think bootcamp is best for playing games, but if I bought parallels does this use the same partion as bootcamp or would I have to create a 3rd partition?
NewEgg just dropped the price to $125 shipped for 500gb. I'm thinking about getting it. It's either that or a Scorpio Blue 750gb.Now, what do I do with my laptop? I play Steam games (at times, as they usually run horribly slow), I surf on Chrome, I use Mail, Excel, and iTunes. I also DJ using Traktor Scratch Pro.I bootcamp to play MOST of my games. I know this is a factor for the caching etc.I'm not in DIRE need of space. I have 50gb left, and multiple seasons of different television shows on my hdd. Not to mention several movies. I am a virtual pack rat of sorts, I guess, and I like to carry my media with me. I often use my laptop hooked up to an HDTV for viewing TV shows and movies.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to play an old mac game called warlords on my intel mac laptop running leopard. I have yet to find a version of the game created for something other than mac os classic or windows. Is there any way around this? If I used boot camp and dual booted into tiger would that fix my problem cause tiger has the classic environment but I dont have a ppc. If that would work I am wondering if there was the potential for some of my stuff on my 100 gb hard drive to get deleted in the process because I only have 30 gb left and no external hard drive to back stuff up on.
