View 11 Repliesi have a late 2009 Macbook Unibody White, and just recently it started giving me these messages in the battery menu bar. I haven't noticed any notably difference in my machine, but im just worried about this message.I followed up with this message and started doing health checks, ect. And as you see from the images below it says my health is it 75% is that good? I really don't know and that's why I need your help!
(First picture showing what the problem says, Second picture is the message inside Apple's Menu-Bar Widget for the Battery, the Third Picture is the message inside a Menu-Bar App called 'Watts', Fourth is my Macbook's Battery information from the App 'Watts' and lastly the Fifth picture is more Information from the App 'coconutBattery').
Alright so i have my macbook pro for 4 months now , and my battery health is 97% ??
Coconut Battery:
97%
6755/6900 mAh
19 Load cycles
4 Months old
iStat Pro:
98%
19 Cycles
Am i doing something wrong?? i just calibrated my battery -->
1- Fully drain battery w/usage
2- Fully charge battery - no usage
3- Keep charging when full for 2 hours
4- Use
Laptop was in box for 2 months, only been using for 2 other months
Am i doing something wrong?
I have just bought a MacBook. I have downloaded the Battery Health Monitor and it says obviously that my current capacity is at 100%, with 5,791 mAh. I would like to know how many hours does this value correspond to, because it has certainly not been the highly announced 10 hours battery life
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy white unibody macbook battery that I just bought has a battery health of 92% and it only has 23 cycles. I got this information from iStat Pro

I reccently bought a new MBP late 2011. I took it out the box and charged it to 100% but the battery health was 94%(iStat) is it normal for a new battery to have 94% health? shouldn't it be 100%? I asked this question because when my brother bought his MBP early 2011, it had a 100% health out of the box.

I just bought the new MBP 13" 'cause I'm gonna need it for college, but since I'll also use it as "personal computer", for web browsing, playing music and movies, I'll probably have to charge every day. My question is: if I got home and my MBP is dead, I plug it in and use it, when the battery is fully charged, I have to unplug it or I can use it for the night (still plugged in) and just unplug it the next day for school?
Is it somehow harmful to my battery life? And by the way, I've read that "discharge the battery" means just use at least until the 50%, is that right? So if I charge it just when it's about 40%, I just need to recalibrate once a month, and that's all fine, right?
So I bought a macbook pro 13" about a month ago. I've been running coconut battery tests on it and the battery health is only at 89%. This is super upsetting to me. I went to the apple store and they ran their diagnostic test only to tell me that my battery is within specification, so they wouldn't replace it. The health they calculated was 91%.
What should I do? This seems unfair to me.
Coconut battery stats:
Battery capacity: 5141 mAh
Original battery capacity: 5770 mAh
Battery load cycles: 27
Age of your mac: 4 months
Hello people, I was just wondering if my Macbook Pro 13' (2010) battery is currently healthy? It has the health of 95% and 95 cycles. I purchased it 2 months ago
View 15 Replies View Relatedi have the 2.4ghz unibody macbook. I bought it in february and I have iStatPro in my dashboard. It now displays "battery health:97%", is that normal? how can the battery health be preserved?

View 12 Replies View RelatedSo I've got a few questions about ways to prolong the life of may new macbook pro's battery...
1) How often should I fully charge/discharge?
2) At what % should I plug in?
3) At what % should I stop charging?
4) If my MBP is 100% charged is it bad to keep using it while plugged in? Or is it better for the life of the battery to unplug it and let it get used?
5) Any other tips/advice?
Only reason I'm asking is because my 2 month old 13" MBP is already down to 90% health after only 32 charge cycles .
I usually keep my mac connected to AC power and probably once a week I try to drain the battery. It only has 28 cycles. I bought it last year on november and today when I removed the ac power, a little while after I realized that the battery health went from 88% to 77%! What can I do? I am doing everything that mac says to keep a healthy battery!

I am confused as to what the "battery health" of my MBP is. I downloaded an app it told me it is 89% but it is not consistent with the cycles, mAh capacity, etc (it should be more?), so I am thinking the app might be innacure in reporting this (reviews say this). I just want to have a second source to see where I stand.

I was looking into buying a new macbook pro and I was just looking at my current macbook 13 inch and I hadn't checked my battery health for a while so I went and had a look. I was extremely suprised to see my battery had done 1046 cycles and according to istat, my battery was at 92% health...
I have had my macbook 13 inch since november 2007. It has been having a few problems lately with over heating but I was wondering if it was normal to have a battery that had gone through so many cycles and still have around 4-5 hours battery life (when I am just browsing the net and doing uni work i.e not watching movies or listening to music)
Just wondering why battery health would drop down to 96% from 98% using iStat Pro as my widget ?
I did a full drain of my MBA yesterday and ran it on reserve power and let it fully drain until it went to sleep, then waited about 6 hours after it went to sleep until there was no light flashing on my MBA....
I put it back on charge overnight and opened it up in the morning and it was fully charged, but the battery health now shows 96% as it was 98% a few days ago ?
How do I get the health back to over 98% ?
I am at 99% and 82 cycles and I've own mine for 2 months now. This is my very first mac so am I OK for now?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI've had my refurb rev a for a week now. I absolutely love the form factor and it has really impressed me with what it can do. (My last computer was the 1.67 Powerbook G4 with 1 gig of ram.) However the battery life concerns me. When I got the air it had 4 cycles and 97% health. 10 days later i have 15 cycles and 93% health. I'm not concerned about the cycles, but should the health be declining this fast? If not what can I do to increase it? I've tried calibrating it and it really didn't change anything.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI calibrated my macbook battery the other day and it went down to 97% (shock horror), its 73 cycles and 8 months old. In desperation I smashed it with a hammer hoping it would fix it. just joking I actually drained it down to 80% and then charged again, repeated this three times. After the first time the battery life when to 4058 mAh, then the second time it went to 4090 mAh and after the third time it rised again to 4126 mAh. Original capacity is 4100 mAh

View 6 Replies View RelatedI noticed this in my previous Rev. A. After 100 cycles, my health dropped from 98% -> 92-94%. Now on my Rev. C, I'm at 136 cycles and my health dropped from 99% -> 92%.
I calibrated my battery already, but is the MBA's battery just purposely dropping health after a certain cycle count or what?
Is my battery defective or is that normal. My battery is at 32 cycle count, 5 month old and 96% according to coconut
It's the new MBP "13
So I just got my first MBP, and I have calibrated my battery. Both iStat and Coconut Battery report my battery health is 98%. Do you think this is reason for concern, considering the MBP is supposed to be new? What is your new MBPs battery health?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know that my Macbook batter is expected to be at 80% health by the time 1000 cycles have passed [URL] however im on 90% after just 82! the macbook is still under apple care, do you think that this excessive drop in health is enough for the battery to be replaced by apple?

I have no idea what is going on with my battery. Two days ago I downloaded Coconut battery and it showed the battery health at 99%. I checked it today and now it is at 76%. Is my battery already biting the dust? I only have 79 cycles on my Al MB.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it normal for the battery of an 1 month old MacBook Pro 17" to display the Health status 98% in iStat Pro widget. The MBP is on 4 cycles and the battery was calibrated 2 times: First when I received it and the second time was yesterday.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a chart or something like that where I can compare my battery health to? These are my specs, and I was just wondering if they are "normal."
MBP 13" Mid - 2009
Battery Loadcycles - 80
Age - 8 Months
Current Battery Capacity - 85%
I tried calibrating my battery twice in that past two days to see if the capacity will jump, but it has not.
Ever since owning the uMBP, I have kept the battery charged and monthly calibrate it to maintain a 100% battery health. But through this, the laptop limits its portability and it is sometimes extremely tedious to find a plug in order to use it. My question is: Is it really worth it to keep a good battery that will last overtime, or would you prefer simply purchasing a new battery when your old one dies? Also, how big of a difference does a healthy battery compare to a battery put through regular use?
