MacBook Pro :: Flash Player Preferences Keep Changing?
Apr 5, 2012
My Flash Player preferences (in the preferences pane) keep returning to the default settings after i have made changes to the settings. It seems to take about a week between the time i set the preferences till they return back to the default settings. As an example, about a week ago i set the "Storage" tab to "Block all sites from storing information on this computer." Last night i checked the preferences and this same tab had been changed back to the default choice, "Allow sites from storing information on this computer." Same thing for the "Camera and Mic" tab, i check the "block all sites", then in a week or so it goes back to "Ask me." This is occuring across all the tabs in the Flash Player preferences.

A friend of mine is having trouble playing flash videos on his 1.33 GHz PowerBook G4 (256MB of RAM). He has version 7 of flash player and is unable to upgrade to a newer version.
I have upgraded from a OX 2.8 to 3.9. I now have to use two browsers to use the internet. Safari to have access to my yahoo mail account, and fire fox 2.020 to load information on my business website.
I have not been able to use shockwave flash or flash player on the up load. When I was using OSX 2.8 I could add pictures to my business website and etc., I had no problem viewing the slide show I had on my website, other than the system was a little slow. I have an ibook G3 128 +512 ram, total. 900 mhz, 12. inches and white case. The systems requirements indicate that I need to upgrade to tiger OSX 4.0
I know there are some issues using Fire Fox with OSX 3.9. When ever I tried to access my yahoo mail from Fire fox, the system would crash.
Other than getting a new laptop, any suggestions? I tried to down load Shock wave from the old apps web site called Camino. I get an error message that the plug in cannot be loaded sussfully I have tried load flash Player 7.09, but get a message that it can not load. Could this be because of not enough space on the drive. Maybe I am not loading it correctly. Shouldn't I be able to click it to install it in the right place without having to try the different files.
I just got a MacBook Pro, OS 10.6.5 and I transferred all my information from my Air, OS 10.5...something. When I went to watch a video online, it said that FlashPlayer wasn't installed, so I installed the latest version on the adobe website, but it still says that there's a missing plug-in. Flash player was working fine on my air, and all my software is up to date.
i have a macbook pro. the problem recently has been the flash player.i have installed it several times, but whenever i click a link on a website it says you need to update your flash player and keeps taking me to adobe website.
Prosessor 2,53 GHz Intel Core i5 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50) This machine is not willing to install Flash player. Have tried to follow instructions on Adobe forums, tried to remove flash, tried to install flash, but no luck.I only get the message flash player will not install...
Suddenly today whenever I try to play a youtube video on Chrome or Safari (the only browsers I have installed) I get the message "The following plug-in has crashed: shockwave flash" in Chrome and "plug-in failed" on Safari.
At first I thought it was Chrome so I reinstalled Chrome, tried disabling the chrome native flash plugin in about:plugins (then the other one) but no joy, then I realised it was happening on Safari too.
So I downloaded the Flash uninstaller for mac and uninstalled > reinstalled and still no joy.
I'm running the latest version of both browsers, latest lion updates and flash version on a Macbook Pro (Dec '11)
Have big problems with YouTube playing. YouTube won't play, won't download the movie. The screen is black and in the middle is runing the circle for hours if you won't.I tried to reinstall the Adobe's Flash player, but I have the same problem. I also tried to clear all cookies, but problem is the same.
I think, that problem is realy in Flash player because once error appear, but I can't remember it.
I recently recieved the Flash Player Ugrade notice on my MacBook Pro rinning Lion and I accepted it and began the upgrade. Right in the middle of the upgrade, my nac crashed and I had to power down reboot. From that point on, the upgrade will not install and only gives a "installed failed". I went to the Adobe site and used the uninstall tool for flash, still gives error on install of any version of flash.
I cannot get adobe Flash player to install on My MBP running Snow Leopard. It Starts to install but hesitates at from 80% to 95% then finishes but does not work.
When i install Adobe Flash player , Asked me to close Safari so I'm did it but keep on asking me to close the program Safari so I'm try to restart power when i started OS I'm try to install the flash player first but it not working
I have a macbook pro retina, mid 2013. I can use “flash player” in “chrome” but not in “safari” I've gone to the “adobe” site where it said if “adobe” is installed on your computer "x" will be displayed in this box or if it's not installed "x" will be displayed, in both instances the box was blank. I'm extremely frustrated, I'd like to “safari” but would also like to use “adobe flash player”.
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
A few weeks ago, I uninstalled Adobe flash player because I thought it was causing some problems. I'm trying to install it again, but as soon as it starts the installation process, it gets pauses at "Retrieving Install" and hangs at zero. After five minutes or so, it says "Error has been encountered. Close this window and try downloading again.
All the Adobe site says is to enable Javascript and mine is already enabled but still will not download. It always gets to be almost complete and then it says download failed and to close safari, even when safari isn't open.
I installed adobe flash player 9.0 extension for safari on my Mac OS X Lion system. The installation went well. But the web page that needs it complains that the extension is being blocked by my browser. I can't figure out why this is happeneing. I'm not intentionally blocking any extensions to Safari.
I recently started getting this prompt to get Adobe Flash Player Update on my MacBook Pro with Lion. I downloaded it the first time and now it has got very slow when browsing in Safari. I read about the malware running around, and am a bit worried. I am now getting the same prompt again and wanted to see if it is legit or not to download it.
as I press "INSTALL" button (flash-player 11.2) nothing happens. I know that my computer does not match requirements of 11.2 version, but please let me know if there is a suitable solution for my case.
