View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Safari (4.0.4), if you are in the middle of a website that covers several pages and you enlarge the font, the text you are reading can shift off-screen.
If you do this in Firefox (3.5.7), the text that you are reading remains where it is.
The Firefox behaviour makes sense.
Is is possible to enlarge the text in the headings in the Desktop menu bar or use large icons, I can't find it mentioned in the 'System Preferences'.Â
Also my magic mouse will not zoom when holding down the control key and scrolling with one finger as per the booklet that came with the iMac. .

A friend recently downloaded 500 messages from her ISP to Mac Mail (4.4) The inbox says she has 500 messages but she can only see around 150 / 200. How can she see that complete list ? I'm trying to convince her to remove those messages off her ISP's server.
I use a text edit file as a to-do list; however, it doesn't play nice. When I click on its icon, it pops up somewhere other than where I want it. I've tried "Preferences" and TextEdit help on and off line. I can't find any info on it. I'm probably not using the exact words that 'help' would recognize. I've tried saying "Simon Says" too, but that doesn't work either.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was hoping that somebody could recommend a good advanced text list editing application, that I could use to edit a massive text list that I have, in which there is both a leading space and a trailing space at the beginning and end of every item in my text list, which I am trying to get rid of. Normally, I would use Microsoft Word's Find/Replace feature to replace a particular text character with a different character of my choosing, however, if I were to try and use this feature to remove every space in my document, it would also mess things up quite a bit by removing spaces that exist correctly between the words for various items in my text list. How I could go about accomplishing this task?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Japanese font that I was using in Pages on my iMac (uses Mac OS X v10.6.8). I installed it onto my new MacBook Pro (Mac OS X 10.7). But when using Microsoft Word, the font won't work. It's listed in the Latin Text Font list, but it doesn't show up in the Asian Text Font list. Is there a way to add the font so it'll be available in the Asian Text Font list?

I use Apple's Mail program and also my school's webmail (outlook.com) in conjuction to check my school email. However, for some strange reason, my inbox on outlook.com will only hold up to 2 weeks of mail. My inbox in Mail will still be intact, yet for the life of me, I can't figure out why my webmail inbox is disappearing. I've checked every possible setting on outlook.com to no avail. I've also checked Mail's settings, but haven't seen anything as far as deleting older mail. BTW, we're allowed 25 gigs on outlook.com so they shouldn't be deleting them automatically.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got really odd behavior in my Mail application running on a MacBook Pro 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 4GB RAM OS X 10.7.3. I have several email accounts. In one of them, "X," some emails don't show up in the account Inbox even though they are present in the overall Inbox marked as "Inbox - X"! Also, when I set up a Smart Mailbox with as criterion that the sender is "Y," the sender of one of these "missing" emails, those emails don't show in the Smart Mailbox. What's going on here? It screws up my email management as I can't be sure my Smart Mailboxes and folders contain all that they're supposed to.

We were able to write paragraphs in the photo information "description" area. In the new version of iPhoto ' 11, I can not enlarge the "Add a description" more than the two lines that are visible. Is there a way to enlarge the "Add a description" so that I can see more than two lines?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my iMac came with a 1TB hard drive and I installed Windows 7 x64 but only gave it some 93GB. I have a two-prong question:
Can I add a third partition to my drive after I partition for BootCamp? My main partition ("Macintosh HD" by default) is over 900GB large and I'd really like to cut that up into 2x450GB, for example, in addition to the 93GB BootCamp partition.
Second, once partitioned, is it possible to resize the BootCamp partition to make it bigger after it has been set up?
Mac screen resolution is getting higher and higher, which is nice, but the downside is that we seem to have lost "what you see is what you get." I have set the default document size of Text-Edit to about the size of an 8 1/2 x 11 document, which fits easily on the screen. I have what appears to be a single page of text. It all easily fits in the document window. The headline fits across the width of the page. But when I choose Print, the print preview shows that the text is going to spill out onto two sheets of paper.  I exit out of the print document and reduce the text size so that it all prints out on one sheet of paper. The problem is, the size of the text onscreen is now TINY! It looks like it's about 6 point while the printed text looks like it's about 12 point! No WYSIWYG!  When I revert the document to the way it was originally, where it was going to print out on two sheets of paper, and then hold my printed document up next to the screen, the printed size matches the onscreen size almost perfectly, even though, if printed out at this size, the text would spill out onto two pages and be huge. In other words, 18 point size text prints out at about 12 points and 12 pt text prints out at about 6pts, so there's about a 6pt difference in how text looks onscreen and how it prints out. Again, No WYSIWYG! My older Macs had much lower-resolution screens, but text printed out at about the same apparent size on screen. I know the original Macs had 72dpi screens so that they would closely match the printed size of text, and I like the fact that monitors keep getting better, but is there a way around this problem of printed text not matching the size of onscreen text?

So I found the lost project in FCPX. It has a music tract, text and video. When I pulled the project down for editing, I am able to separate the music from the video, but the text bubbles do not appear above the video allowing me to change the misspelled words that need editing.I've searched all of my backup drives for the original footage in case I have to re-edit the whole thing, but I'm unable to find the original footage. Every event in my libraries appears as a finished project.

Safari keeps changing the text field on input, do you know how to correct this issue?Â

Let's say I load www.google.com, it appears in the safari window as usual.
Suppose I begin to type a search in the google search field at the top right of the safari window (not the one on the google page)
if when doing this the sentence is long for the search, at some point randomly, the rest of the text will be entered this time in the google search text field on the google page! (which is the very next text field) So when I hit enter it makes google search half of my request...
Safari changed the text field I was into with no warning. I want to say I do not press tab at any moment. This is annoying really, and this does not appear anywhere else than in Safari. It seems the issue is not systematic, but appears quite often.

I have designed a corporate letter head for a friend and it is still in jpeg format after using photoshop. Now I want to import it into a pages document so that I can give it to him in PC format so he can type over the watermark and put his letters onto his letterhead... now I can do that quite easily on my PC but not so on my Mac...
I can add the watermark image into the Pages document but for some reason I can't work out how to modify the text from then... i can see how you move the text formatting but if i wanted to add a word into a paragraph etc i can't select the text. It's as if the watermark layer is the only layer I can select and the text is not longer selectable.... can anybody help me out with this please? I just need to be able to select the text layer and modify the text..
I am using Mac 10.7.3 and I configured my mail box successfully. One day suddenly the inbox is got emptied in the mailbox (but the mails are available in server). I can see the mails in the sent, trash, draft folders. I tried many times to reconfigure, but resulted in the same.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThere's an email whose attachments Outlook is unable to download from the server and the attachments in question are small text files. I went to mail.cisco.com and deleted the email there but the outlook still shows up that email in inbox and then get stuck in the "Downloading attachments" loop which I'd shown below. I tried to delete it on outlook but it still stays there. It is causing High CPU as well.
