I started having trouble when I go to differant websites. Sometimes the pictures for related stories don't load and I'm left with a small blue box with a question mark in it. If I go to sites like Hulu or Utube and I select a video it doesn't load at all so I can't watch anything at all. I have no trouble watching videos I have in "Finder", they play just fine.

I am trying to connect my 2008 MacBook to my old fashion sony tv. I want to be able to use my tv as a monitor (so to say) and watch videos, netflix and so on. Can someone advice me how to go at it?

I'm running Lion on a brand new MacBook Air. I cannot watch embedded videos, but can watch the videos on Youtube. I've deleted cookies and cache and reinstalled Flash Player, but nothing works. I've had this problem before with older versions of the OS and on a MacBook Pro.

Not the experience I expected when buying a mac. I spent a lot of money on this for a machine to be unable to play any video.

I'm able to watch videos on youtube and other webpages, just not anything on facebook. Not even ones that i have submitted myself. I've already wiped out my whole harddrive and reinstalled it, repaired any disk utilities, disk permissions, made sure i've got the newest version of adobe, and made sure that all of my software is updated. I just don't know what else it could be. I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.8, Snow Leopard. Also, whenever i click on the video to play, it just appears as a small black box.Ps: I'm using Safari and would like to continue to use it.

For some time now I have been unable to view videos on netflix. I'm able to log in and select a video, however, the below screen shot displays the screen that I see instead of the video playing. I have been unsuccessful at trying to figure out a way to resolve this issue on my own.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI thought I fixed it with a wireless-n router and it worked perfectly till now. I was loading videos on youtube in seconds with no buffering and fully loaded, and could stream even 1080hd videos on there and other sites no problem. Now the MBP is going slow again, like there's this lag when browsing, and I can't even watch youtube videos anymore unless their 240p as anything else buffers every couple of seconds.
It's not the internet, as like I've said before I have an pc in another room across the condo on the wireless network and its blazing fast browsing and watching/streaming videos. I've seen other post about this lately and really leading me to believe these $ MBP just suck on wireless networks, b/c I can be right next to my router and no changes... and my girlfriends cheap netbook can stream videos faster with no buffering then my expensive piece of aluminum.
I saw someone else say enter this for DNS and I had already done that, so is something screwed up here?:

I'm not sure how to fix this problem guys... I tried this in three different browsers (Safari 3, Firefox 3, Camino). When watching a video on Youtube, it always defaults to standard quality. When I click on high quality, it gives me an error message saying the video is no longer available. I sent my friend a link who opened it in his Safari and it shows the high quality one. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

The problem is I don't think it's working. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. And whenever I try to watch videos on my Veoh TV it says I need to install Perian.
