I just purchase a used macbook And I was trying to delete the previous owner account and info, I deleted de OS X mountain lion and when I try to reinstall it a message shows "This item is not available, try again later"... I have try several options and nothing seems to work.
I recently returned from a weekend long trip. My mom had used my Mac Book Pro (December 2012) on the guest account. When I opened it on Monday it was unresponsive, and the screen only showed the dock. I rebooted, but the result was a white screen with a flashing folder with a question mark. I followed instructions on the forums, and used command r. Now I am stuck. I didn't back it up with time machine, so that option (Of the 4) is out of the question. I'm using the safari one now. I can't modify or delete my disks for the Disk Utility Option, and am unable to select a disk to reinstall Mountain Lion on. Long story short, I seems my computer is having problems with the disk.
I had a crash on my Macbook Air MD231 - Mid 2012, and my system won't boot, and unfortunately my friend erase my partition from disk utility.
Now I have three question
1)my internet speed is very low, for re-installing I have to download all of the OS X 10.8 from internet? or I can download it and install it via USB port?(how??)
2)I have to select this option ? "re-install OS X" , and what about size of that? (for example 4.2 Gb)
3)after installing , is there anyway to restore my dada? unfortunately I have not any backup right now, after I turning my Mac on, it's automatically going to repair mode...
I inadvertently deleted my OSX 10 Lion operating system on my Mac Mini -- tried redownloading it but continually received an automated response saying something like ".... unable to download the software, try again later" That is not an exact quote but close. I tried several times to download the software but always received the same message. I did verify that WIFI was up and working properly on my separate laptop.
Info: Mac mini (Mid 2010), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)
just recieved my refurbished macbook air (2011) 2 weeks ago.Does it qualify for free upgrade to mountain lion ? The website only talked about "qualifying new mac system set..."
I accidently deleted some file on my computer that wouldn't let me start up my MacBook pro, 13 Inch, so I had to press Command- R at start up (brought me to Lion Recovery) and I choose reinstall lion and I started it yesterday morning and all day and over night. It's barely half way through and it says "148 Hours Left" which is crazy.. Should I just wait? is this normal? what do I do?
I was about to buy Lion so I can start using the extra space I purchased on Iclouds but I noticed that Mountain Lion is coming later this summer. Can I wait and simply install Mountain Lion without ever getting Lion?
when mountain lion will release this year if I upgrade my Lion OS to new Apple's new Mac OS what will happen to recovery HD partition? They said my Lion OS will be gone and everything will be Mountain Lion. I bought this Macbook pro late 2011 and its running Lion OS with recovery HD.
I purchased my computer 4 months ago and have had nothing but troubles since. When I bought it I think I downloaded OS X Mountain Lion for free, either that or my computer came with it. After several attempts from Geek Squad at Best Buy to fix my computer, they finally reset the computer back to factory settings. Now I do not have OS X Mountain Lion and cannot figure out how to download it for free (Because if I had to download it in the first place, I downloaded it for free), and I do not have iphoto. This is my second Macbook, and the first one I remember having to purchase ilife to get iphoto.
I saw the new Mountain Lion preview on WWDC 2012 today, and I am planning to upgrade ML when it comes out. I was just wondering if all the data and apps get transfered into the new ML OS when I upgrade from my Macbook Pro with OS X Lion?
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)

downgrading their macbook pro from mavericks to lion (or, if not lion, to mountain lion)? I have a late 2013 mbpro with rentina (model 11,2).
I am no interested in any flame wars, but I, personally, despise mavericks. I have several other macs I have worked on for years and have been extremely satisfied with snow leopard. I explored installing sl on my mbpro, but it isn't possible to the newer hardware on the mbpro.
Info: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), Mac OS 9.2.x, started with 10.9, tried 10.9.3
How do I reformat my HD and reinstall Mac OSX Lion? I somehow corrupted username.sparsebundle in FileVault and therefore can't log in. I need to reformat the HD and reinstall the latest OS. (I do not want to use FileVault going forward.)
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
Tried to reinstall op system on macbook pro (mid 2010) that came with snow leopard from a time machine backup and it didn't accept my password. I had upgraded to lion, guess that's part of the problem. So I reinstalled again without my time machine backup and can't figure out how to get lion back on, along with the rest of my time machine backup now that i'm back in snow leopard? Tried to use migration assistant but it said i didn't have the correct op. sys. to continue.
I once had iLife on my macbook, however when I updated to OS X Lion, I couldn't find it anymore. I am currently running version 10.7.3. I need to reinstall iLife without using the CD and without going to the Apple store as I am no where near one. P.S: When I search for iLife in the App Store it says I have to pay.
