My Macbook Air got delivered yesterday and already the charger is broken. I cant wait 4 days for delivery of a new charger by Apple and cant get an appointment in an Apple store until Saturday afternoon to get it looked at. This is all totally riciculous, but if the ipad charger works with my Macbook, then I will buy one in my lunch hour.

I just bought a brand new charger and it stopped working after about the third charging cycle. The light just simply doesn't go on and the computer doesn't read anything.
Weird thing though is that my old charger did the same thing at the end (although if you jiggled the connection it worked)? Could it be my computer? Although I tested the charger on another computer and it didn't work either. and a different charger on my computer worked.
Is this common for the new chargers that there are lemons once in a while?
Could it be because I left the plastic over the charger to prevent scratches?
Will apple exchange it for a new one or are they gonna give me a problem cause I really don't think this should have happened.
This is my first ever Apple product, purchased it this afternoon and have been enjoying setting it up. Ran down the battery to about 3%, have plugged it in to the wall to charge and it simply won't. I will run on AC power, but refused to charge. Then for some reason it started to charge about 20mins later, then stopped. Â I have tried several wall outlets that are running other appliances with no issues and checked the adaptor, seems to be in fine condition.

I just got this 13-inch MacBook Pro on Friday. Everything I've read absolutely raves about the battery life. However, I only get about 2 hours per charge; I got waaaaay longer on my year-old MacBook I just sold. I have Firefox and Pages running, but nothing else. Am I doing something wrong?

(excuse me if i'm using the wrong terms). and in about one-two weeks, the battery goes down past 95% and it starts charging itself.

View 3 Replies View Relatedback in November my charger finally bit the dust. I put off getting another for months thinking there would be no issues buying a new one. Yesterday I finally went out and bought a new charger. The people at the store told me that the newest L-shaped chargers probably wouldn't work with my old 2008 laptop. They said this was because the new chargers only work with Snow Leopard and I apparently have Leopard. I WAS FURIOUS. I called Apple to see if this was true, and the guy on the phone told me that all the information he gathered suggested that the charger would work. So I bought the charger, plugged it into my laptop, and only a dim green light is showing on the charger. I've tried a number of things to get it to work including : cleaning the connection with alcohol and qtips, trying to turn on the laptop without the battery, and resetting the SMC. How do I get it to work?

I have been using my MacBook pro for a lot of film editing and motion graphics. Recently, I noticed that my battery kept going down, even when charging. I thought nothing on it and kept using it. After around 4 hours, the battery went from 90% to 23% WHILE plugged in. This got me nervous. When I plug in the MagSafe charger, the light comes on and I get the "charging" symbol in my toolbar. The light turns orange and then, after a few minutes, the power starts to go down instead of up.Â
The laptop does charge, but only when I am running no application, when the screen is shut or when the laptop is powered off. Bear in mind that right now, I am on Firefox, that is the only application open, yet the charge is still going down. I assumed it was because I was using Premiere CS6, After Effects CS6 and Cinema4D, but now even when they are not open, the batter will not charge when I am using the laptop.Â
I am currently only running Firefox and Finder. Now the laptop is charging as usual. However the second I open up Premiere, After Effects etc, it goes down.

I have a one week old 13" MBP which is being powered by the charger but is not charging. Was working fine the first couple of times but has only been used about three times and is kept nice and safely out of the way of a boisterous toddler so no chance of any damage. The old one would charge, but I would be lucky to get 10 minutes of life out of it at full capacity. I received my replacement today, and while at 25% charge it is capable of powering my laptop for about an hour, when I plug it in with the new battery it does not charge, with the message "Not Charging" appearing in the top menu bar. Is my new battery a dud, or is there something I can do about this?

One of the prongs that go into the wall is slightly bent so it might be because of that.
My question is will Apple replace this charger for me? Do they give the new magsafe adapters as replacements or will they give me an old one?
I have had my 13 in macbook pro for about three months and suddenly it does not charge when it is plugged in. In the last week this has started to happen but upon fussing with the connection like unplugging and replugging in the magnet charger it would start for a while and stop randomly. I have had my MacBook (aluminum) for 6 days, and all of a sudden i go to plug it in to charge (10% left) and the led on the magsafe doesn't come on and the computer doesn't recorgnize the charger (even in system profiler).
upon closer inspection i noticed the LED is on on the magsafe, it is just a very faint shade of green.I have tried a charger from a different MacBook but no luck. And i have also tried my charger and a different macbook and it charged it just fine.. so it's probably not my charger.
Any ideas?? i know i can go get it replaced.. but i would really like to not have to take a 45 minute drive to the apple store if i can avoid it.. (unless this problem is serious and should be replaced) also, if i get a replacement is it possible for them to just swap my HDD with the new one?
I just got a new Alum. MacBook this past Friday and I am trying to take care of it the best I can. Is the battery ready to be taken off the charger at half charge capacity if I have drained it 3 times already and recharged after that to full?

Is it better to keep the charger in after a completely charged or pull out the charger. Basically I'm wondering if the power is pulled from the UPS after the battery is completely charged or is it still constantly charging the battery.

The Apple one looks tempting as it comes with 6 batteries and 29€ isn't too much, plus, as usual, it looks brilliant. I looked at some 3rd party chargers as well ranging from 20€ to 40€. None of them was stunning or special by any means. Cheaper ones usually came with two or four batteries and some came without batteries. I don't really need it for else than Magic Mouse, occasionally for something else too.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I got a MacBook on Tuesday and am already noticing something screwy with my battery. On Tuesday I replaced the RAM and HD before even plugging the MAcBook in. I then hooked up the AC adapter and reloaded Leopard. Once Leopard was loaded (hour or so later) I noticed my battery was just sitting at 99%. Finally about 30-45 minutes later it git 100%, so I was happy and brushed it off as an initial charge. So last night when I plugged the MacBook in to use it I was back at 99%! I used the laptop for about 2 hours and never went back to 100% on the battery. So what gives? Did I do something wrong with the initial use/charge? Should I try draining my battery and recharging it?

I have bought many refurbished products before, but never one this expensive. I just wanted to make sure that there is NO difference in warranty, quality or anything when buying refurbished. Simply just a computer that has been refurbished but includes everything as if it were being bought brand new.
Also I am definitely going to buy a new Hard drive for it immediately. I was reading around about the western digital 5400 rpm and 7200 rpm. Is it worth waiting for the 7200rpm or just go for the 5400? And is 500GB the biggest hard drive that I can put in my macbook? I want the biggest possible.
What is the exact drive that is compatible with the macbook?
I have never burned a DVD on my Macbookpro.Is there a brand or type that works best. I'll be placing my pictures on this DVD.
