I think I deleted some flash plugins. I uninstalled Adobe flash then reinstalled.Same problem on facebook. Boxes with question marks. What plugin do I need to download and where do I find it?

I have a imac where there are suppose to be pictures i get a blue box with a question mark inside. it happens on both safari and firefox. it is as if the web page does not recognize that picture. I tried everything redownloading Flash Quicktime and java. I went to quicktime and made sure only the quicktime box is checked. it is like my pictures don't show up and are replaced with the blue box with the question mark inside. I am not the only one with this problem apple calles it the Blue box of death. I tried everything.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was forcibly migrated from DSL to Fiber Optic internet services (uverse) & ever since I am consistently seeing a small blue box with a white question mark in it where a picture should be. It is happening on multiple sites & it does it randomly only when I'm using my home router. If I am using another internet provider, it doesn't happen & I've checked a few forums & all of their solutions don't work for me. I was advised not to delete & reinstall Safari but I'm afraid it is only occuring at home that something is wrong with the services/router/signal because nothing else has worked. If I take it to the apple store or anything of the like, it will work so it's not as if I can "show" someone unless they're at my home.

My Macbook is not even a month old yet and already I'm encountering problems.
1) Safari (7.0.4) won't quit several times and I have to force shut down by pressing the power button for a few seconds.
2) I keep having problems where pictures won't load and instead a blue box with a question mark is there. (on sites like Tumblr and Facebook and others as well) (at first I thought it was the site but the sites open perfectly on other computers).
I intermittently see the question mark inside a blue square where a picture should be. is there a way to correct this?

So, I was on windows, using bootcamp, and I was creating partitions on a pen drive with it, and then it asks me that it needs to restart to apply changes.
But then, while restarting, a blue screen occurred (**** windows).... And I forced the shutdown pressing the power key.
Then, I simply turned the MacBook on, trying to boot on my snow leopard and I got a flashing folder with a question mark on it. Now I can't access any partitions on it, if I press option key on startup I get a blank window!
I tried to reset PRAM, repair the MacOs partition using the snow leopard DVD (it shows up fine, along with windows partition and EFI partition), and I still don't get my startup disk showing up...

i just upgraded my ibook g3 hd to 20gb. i put in my tiger install disc 1 and i let it go while i was out of the room. i heard the startup chime from another room, later i went to see it with a blue screen and mouse cursor. it wouldn't do anything. then i restarted it with the install disc again, holding C down, and it booted to a grey screen which after about a minute went to the flashing folder with the ? mark.

I have an account in Mail.app that won't let me do anything to the e-mails coming into it. I can't delete e-mails, I can't mark them as read, and if I try to move an e-mail to another mailbox, it's copied, not moved.I've tried repairing disk permissions, and I've tried to remove the account and then adding it again ? but the problem persists. "Rebuild" in the Mailbox menu is inactive when this mailbox is selected, but works on my other accounts.The same account works fine on my iPhone; mails are getting marked as read and I can delete and move e-mails around. View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter a few minutes of rebooting the machine i will use spotlight and it will be very flickery. Like when updating results, the blue bar flickers white and blue very quickly and almost unnoticeable. Also, related, when scrolling a list in the dock through a stack shown in list mode, it flickers a lot there as well. Is this normal behaviour for these machines/leopard in general? I'm used to using a crappy old iBook so i dont know if im just being pedantic.

while i am using my macbook the screen will suddenly go blue and flash between different blue colors like it is trying to work. sometimes it comes back on but most of the time it stays like that. I have to force shut down with the button and then restart...about half the time it is still flashing blue after the restart and if it does work, it goes blue eventually.
dont know if its a problem with the screen or what because the computer continues to work...if there is a movie on, you can here it in the background and the screen just flashes.
i am a new mac user and have a macbook where I think the harddisk is broken. When I start it up I see a folder with a question mark in it. If I start it up in target disk mode and connect it to another mac I only get the dvd drive mounted (if there is a dvd in the macbook). I have read that I can test if any hardware is failing with the dvd that came with my mac, but I cant find those DVDs. Can I download them or ask for replacements somewhere?
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday is my one week anniversary of owning a Mac so I am still very new to this. I made a folder in the stacks section of my dock. It is titled games. In the folder I put alias's of the two games I have so I can just click in there and quickly access my games.
It seemed to be working exactly as I expected until a few nights ago. I noticed that the folder has a question mark on it and when I clicked on it nothing happened. I removed the folder and re-made it and put the alias's in again. It worked again for a few days and then the same thing happened again. This time I did not remove the folder as I got busy with other things. Eventually the question mark went away, but still when I click on it nothing happens.
Did I do something wrong or is my system acting up somehow?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOur computer shows an exlamation mark and can't conect to wi-fi. It has always been in this location (two years), we haven't added any other wireless devicess to our home. It can see our network with all four bars as a strong sygnal but doesn't want to conect. When I move my iMac to the kitchen it conects right away. I don't need a computer in the kitchen. Apple support wasn't very helpful. We upgraded our internet, bought a new router, extended the network with Airport Extreme, re-installed the system (10.7.4) replaced airport card in our mac. The same problem - exclamation mark, no wi-fi.

I finally went out and bought iLife '09. So far it was great, I love iMovie, but I opened iPhoto because I needed to grab a couple pictures for an iDVD menu. I clicked on an event, and I saw all the photos in that event. All good. But when I go to click on a photo, it gives me a big blurry exclamation mark I looked into it further, and it seems like all of my events from 2007, and only 2007, are corrupted like this. What happened? Can I recover the photos?

After getting it online I contracted a virus (should have loaded an antivirus program first). So I did a hard shutdown, since I couldn't close anything. It started the reboot after I (unsuccessfully) tried to remove iTunes 8.2 so I could go back to 8.1. I was following some instructions from another site, but interpreted the code to be segmented and not to be entered as one large command. So I entered this into terminal while iTunes was still running. "sudo rm -rf /Applications/iTunes.app /System/Library". I think the system was hanging, so rebooted the computer and that's when this started. I can't enter single user mode, diskwarrior has rebuilt the directory successfully, but no luck. I'm on a 12" Powerbook 1.5GHz with 1.25 GB RAM, Leopard 10.5.7.
