Nov 9, 2009I have about 50 *.mp3's on my hard drive that have the file names in all upper case. When looking at them in itunes it drives me nuts....Is there a way to convert the uppercase file name to lowercase? I have googled but can't find anything. I do not want to do it manually, that would take a long time =( thanks, I'm crossing my fingers

May 25, 2012My keyboard stopped working so I went to the apple store to replace it with another one. Now I am back home and the keys at the very top are not working correctly (volumn F12 shows the dashboard, F11 takes the screen up and away, F8 pause button shows spaces, etc.). What should I do to correct this problem - I assume I probably need to download some type of softwear but what? I have a Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 desktop - 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

May 10, 2012I was trying to fix something with the tabs in Safari (they kept reloading/refreshing every time I clicked back on one) and so I unchecked "Use multi-process windows" under the debug menu. Aug 31, 2014Since upgrading from Mountain Lion to Mavericks (10.9.4), I've noticed that I am no longer able to sort files by name and get one list in alphabetical order. I now get two, as Mavericks seems to be sorting out files beginning first with uppercase letters and then following with all lowercase letters:
Naturally, this makes it difficult to efficiently scan a directory for a file with a known name, as I'd have to look in two places. Terminal is showing file lists in the same manner. I have made sure that grouping is turned off, so as to not confuse the view while sorting. A related issue that I am dealing with is drop down menus in Apps or on websites where one can typically type the first few letters of an entry and snap right to it. However, typing "tim" will not bring up an entry in a font menu, for instance, if the thing I'm trying to get to is "Times New Roman" with an uppercase T. In this case, I would have to hold the shift key to get a capital letter and then let it go, so that the rest would be lowercase.Â
I don't remember any Mac operating system before this being so insistent on separating letter cases.

Sep 23, 2010Being the poor college kid that I am, and knowing a bit about hardware repair, I've been buying macbooks on craigslist, etc. and reselling them. I just got a Polycarbonate Macbook that had liquid spilled on (she said it was iced tea). It wouldn't turn on so I checked out the logic board and I cleaned it with alcohol although it seemed clean. I noticed during this that the LED on the power adapter was green, though very dim. When I unhooked the cable connecting the upper case, it turned bright green. Basically what I'm wondering and now that I think about it its probably a stupid question, since I have no way of testing this until I buy a new upper case is do you think it's worth it to try and fix or should I sell it?

May 13, 2012My Mac froze. I tried rebooting and now it won't boot past the blue screen. I have a mouse pointer and there is a small black circle with three smaller blue dots inside of it in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Clicking on it does nothing. I tried booting in safe mode but it wouldn't boot past the galaxy screen. Again, I had a mouse pointer but nothing more. I've tried booting from the OS disc that came with the computer. It sounds like the disc is running but nothing ever happens.

Jun 14, 2010I am working on restoring a Time Machine backup from Leopard to a clean installation of Snow Leopard. The only problem I'm facing is that the Leopard backup is on a case-sensitive drive (and the Snow Leopard drive is set up, by default, as case-ignorant).
I have scoured the Web the last two days and have not found a definitive answer to my question: Is there a way to transfer the data from the Time Machine backup on the case-sensitive drive to the case-ignorant Snow Leopard drive?
Yesterday I ran across a tutorial explaining how this might be accomplished using SuperDuper! but a commenter explained that Disk Utility could be used and was much easier.
I tried the Disk Utility method but it didn't work, and I ran out of time to give the SuperDuper! option a try. Does anyone know if it, or even Carbon Copy Cloner, might solve my problem?

Sep 3, 2014I'm using a Mac Pro desktop running OX 10.5.8 I noticed fairly recently that I have a blank area off of the upper right of the screen where safari windows will ocassionally disappear to. If I move my cursor over to this area it will disappear of the screen. However on all of the other sides/corners of the display, the cursor will remain on the screen.What is the cause of the blank area off the screen and how do I get rid of it?

Software :: Flash Stage Stuck In Upper Left Corner?
Jul 31, 2009I've been using Flash 8 Pro on my imac G5 for a few years now with ZERO problems. When suddenly today the stage is STUCK in the upper left corner of the screen. Meaning the white stage is no longer centered and for the life of me, I can't figure out why or HOW to get it centered again.
I can see the grey area around the bottom and right of the white stage area, but even when I zoom all the way out, I can't see it on the left or top of the white stage. When I zoom all the way out, the white stage area is PERMANENTLY stuck to the upper left side of the screen and I can't move the stage around at all.
Could someone please shed some light on what went wrong and how I fix it? I assume it has something to do with the x and y axis? But I have no idea how to correct this.
I also don't remember changing ANYTHING that would cause this.

May 16, 2012We have 10.6.7 Podcast producer and mac minis with 10.6.8 and a ADVC-110 Canopus conected to firewire and recording by a java app developed to schedule our recordings based on a database which has all the dates of classes. All the macminis has a Energy Saver Schedule to shutdown at 12:00am and starts at 07:00am And all the mac minis in the podcast capture preferences are binded to the server and has the quality choose on good having a file of 271mb per hour. But the problem goes here, every file that is uploaded to the podcast server are really big we are talking about a 1h :20m are about 16gb. So my server is really really slow trying to encode this files. Is any other way to force podcast capture to capture smaller files? i dont know if the problems is in configuration or in our advc 110 I have been testing different versions of mac os x and the only one that the codification of best, good and better works was in the 10.6.4. Even lion fail on the codification of the video. The problem is that we have mac mini 2011 and i cannot install 10.6.4 only run 10.6.8... Â
