I am importing for the first time with this Mac and this version of iTunes. The songs are in a Music folder as .aiff files, just as they always were. I select them to import, but I don't think anything is happening. I have searched for them by song title several different ways; they don't seem to be there.

I have already rented several HD movies straight to my iPad (1) and never had a problem. Tonight however I decided to try a new thing and insted of renting straight to the iPad I tried to rent it in iMac first (iTunes) and than move it to the iPad (thought the download could be quicker and was right: it took some 15min to download an HD movie with the iMac when it normaly takes some 45min with the iPad on the same network).
The problem is, when I try to move the movie into the iPad and click "Apply", I get the message saying that "This movie can not play on this iPad".... I tried to do it directkly on the iPad (and paid for the movie again...) and it downloaded just fine... (though it took 45 minutes).

I am buying a new iMac and want to transfer my entire itunes library of music and video and my iphoto library. All this media is currently on 3 total external drives and I would like it all to live on one single external drive going forward.

I ordered some 3M Di-Noc Carbon Vinyl off eBay (~20 CDN Shipped) to wrap the top shell of my Mac. It turned out pretty good (I think) especially how the reflection from the pattern changes according to the lighting around it (unlike cheaper ones where it's just a printed pattern on a glossy sheet), close to how real carbon fibre would shine.
The vinyl was pretty easy to work with. I took the top shell off (iFixit) so it's easier to cut the apple logo out and also wrap around the edges. Other than the tools to take the shell off, all you need is a hairdryer for the corners and a cutter blade to trim the excess material.
I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for software geared to vinyl collectors. I've toyed with delicious library, but that was ok. I found some dead links for an app called Vinyl Tracker, but that seems to be no longer available. I am wondering if there is anything for OSX more specifically designed for collecting records.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHave you had any success with custom vinyl decals for your laptop? Where are you ordering them? I am looking for a site with a decent customer decal builder if possible as well. [URL] offers custom decals, but scaling it proved to be very difficult to fit a 13" macbook. I am looking to throw my company logo on the back of my laptop, and or possibly onto a clear Speck case.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI am a new mac user (total convert--am on my second iMac in a month and am about to buy a macbook), and am having trouble with my itunes service. My first 24" iMac developed a clicking HDD, so I was lucky enough to be able to bring it back to the shop for a replacement iMac. I made a time machine backup of the first Mac and copied directly to the second one (which was flawless....how come I haven't been using macs prior to now? I've lost dozens of backups on PC). The only issue I've had is with iTunes--I keep getting an error that the iTunes library is newer than the version of iTunes on the computer. Is there anyway to fix this without losing my entire library of songs? I did make up a physical copy of the iTunes folder on my first Mac, just in case, so I assume that I could delete iTunes and reinstall a fresh copy, update it, and then copy the iTunes folder over to the new version. But this is a Windows approach to the issue and there is probably a simpler way of fixing this. Alternately, I could do the same but sync my iPod and copy everything to my library that way.

I have a Macbook with about 5,000 songs on it, all of which are burned from actual hard copies of CDs that I own. Rather than re-burning each CD to my new Windows computer, I would like to see if there's a way to transfer all these songs from Mac to PC using an external hard drive.
The real question is how can I format my external hard drive to be recognized on both a Macbook running Snow Leopard and a PC running Windows 7?

I have recently transferred over my itunes library from macbook to new imac using home sharing. Now I would like to transfer my playlists. Is there an easy way to do this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedRight now I have a white MB from '06 (still in fantastic condition) that's pretty much always connected to a 2TB hard drive, which holds all my iTunes media - 50k songs, 30+ movies, about 50 episodes of TV, not to mention all my other media NOT on iTunes.
In a few days I'll be getting a 13" MBP. I'm not concerned transferring all my documents and pictures to the new mac, but I am concerned with having to re-setup my iTunes library. Is there a way where I can move preference files and the iTunes library list to the new MBP without having to start from scratch and basically drag everything into iTunes and wait 6 hours?

My parents have an iMac and a 4g iPod. The iPod hasn't been used for a while, but still plays music and podcasts beautifully. The problem is, the iTunes Library isn't on the iMac anymore. When I try to sync, I can see the tunes in the iPod, but when I disconnect the cable, the songs don't appear in the iTunes library.
How do I get my parents' iPod to sync and update items through iTunes?
They use 10.5.8 on an iPod 4, using iTunes 10.6.1.
