my friend has a c510 and uses it to print dvd covers it works well ive been trying to do the same with the c522 but it doesnt print to the edge stuff gets cut off is there any setting i can change to make it print the full area
Since upgrading to Lion I have an extra page printing with every print job on my Optra E310 laser printer with cropped off USERID = "xxx", HOST ID = "xxx" and @PJL JOB NAME = "xxx". It seems to happen mainly in Apple applications, i.e. Mail, but has also happened in Acrobat Pro X. Admittedly, it's an old printer but according to Apple and Lexmark it is supported in Lion. I've tried every setting available but can't seem to eradicate the problem. Lexmark support, who were extremely unhelpful, kicked it straight back to Apple.
I have a problem using my Lexmarkt T620 printer with OS Lion.It prints everything as I want. But it adds at every printed job an additional page with only a few words on it and including information about the printed file. Something like ERID.I've never seen anything like this and I don't want to waste more paper when printing with my Lexmark.
The scroll bar on the right is so narrow (1/8") that my cursor keeps running off the edge, which not only stops the scrolling, but makes other unintended things happen, which is VERY annoying. Is there any way to make the scroll bar wider, like I made the cursor bigger? As my vision deteriorates, I'm afraid it's going to be harder and harder to keep the cursor on the bar.
Can anyone tell me how to setup my printer to print to the edge of the A4 sheet instead of leaving a white border? None of my apps seems to offer a solution to this. I seem to remember being able to do it in Photoshop back when I used a PC.
I don't know if Apple started to machine down the aluminum edge of the new MBPs or if I just got a lucky model, but I noticed the edge is nowhere near as sharp as the old MBP I had, my wrists are not getting cut into nearly as much.
I've seen various posts about the sharp edge on the front of the MBA keyboard. Although I think the MBA is fantastic in every other respect, I find this "design flaw" to be a real irritation, and can't imagine how it got through Apple's meticulous product testing process.
In my office I normally wear long-sleeved shirts, so the sharp edge doesn't present much of a problem, but on a long flight recently, my lower forearms were literally chafed after a 2-hour session with the MBA. I find it uncomfortable to rest my wrists on the keyboard for even a few minutes.
With OS X, I always find it annoying that windows can still me moved when maximized. I don't see the point of this since 99% of the problem this causes is that my windows are offset by 2-5 pixels (which I then have to zoom, then re-zoom to maximize the window again). Why can't we have snapping to window edges? Many programs already do this, and they don't detract from the design purity of OS X (unlike Windows 7 which does this over the top and fugly screen edge animation). A slight nudge when your window hits 2-4pxs off the side of the screen would suffice. A center line should exist too, since I find myself using my screen very much so half and half - it is very annoying to get the windows to be half and half equally.
Is there an application for the Mac which will allow me to dock any given window to the side of my screen so its out of sight until I take my cursor to the edge of the screen?
Recieved this keyboard yesterday and love it! For those who own the 'Mac Edition', how do you use the F keys without pressing the function key (fn)?
For instance, I use Photoshop quite a bit and if I use the 'Shift, F5' keys to fill a background, it launches my email. F5 is labeled email so that kind of makes sence but in order to fill a background in Photoshop I have to press 'Shift, fn, F5' and was wondering if I could do it the original way without reprogramming the F5 key.
Well after some time on my own trying to get the Lexmark to work wirelessly I called tech support and finally got it to work on my macbook - here is the link for the updated driver. [URL]
I have successfully installed and set-up the wirless utility and the drivers. When I try and add the printer it does not appear in the add printer list.
What the problem could be? When I screen grab a full screen window by typing Code: Command > Shift > 4 > Space, the resulting screenshot has the right hand edge cut off. Seems to happen in all apps.
I'm wanting to use a shape with a Line style and no Fill style to apply a border (or "frame") around an image (since the Inspector doesn't seem to have an option for adding a border to an image), and have that line feathered slightly so it doesn't have such a "hard" edge. A shape's Fill has a feather option, but the Line doesn't have a similar option. I'm guessing the way to do this is with a filled rectangle, feathered, and with an overlaid mask inside it, also feathered, over the image? In order to round the image's corners, I'm guessing I'll need to apply a mask with rounded corners over the image?
Title of the post says it all really. My printer is one of the ones supposedly supported (x4690) and it works fine when connected by usb, but not wirelessly. I have tried everything I know to get this working.
The only clue I have is when I try to print and run a log, it says
Stopping job because the scheduler could not execute a filter. E [30/Aug/2009:14:17:13 +0100] Unable to execute /usr/libexec/cups/backend/lexnet3: insecure file permissions (0100755)
I've tried to submit the problem to Lexmark, but the 'submit' button doesn't work on their website,.
I have a lexmark all in one printer X6170, but it is not compatible with OSX and does not offer nay drivers for Mac. I am looking for a new printer which is compatible with both Mac and PC and which does not have a high cost for Ink Cartridges.
The ink cartridges prices are ridiculous and I don't want to pay $50 for a printer and $45 for ink refills.
WHat are some of you guys doing to get a decent printer while keeping the cost down for Ink cartridges.
I've had a Lexmark x75 printer for a few years now, on my iMac G3 (I believe I had up to 10.3.8 on it). I recently upgraded to OS X 10.4.7 on an iBook G4, and ever since I have, I cannot open the Print Utility. It will either give me an error saying the application has bee closed unexpectedly (and attempting to reopen through the error window didn't work), or just not open altogether.
I downloaded the driver provided by Lexmark, expanded with Decoder, and still nothing.
How do I get my mac mini to connect to lexmark S605 interact printer wirelessly? It did work fine, and then IP addresses got messed up and now it cannot communicate.
I searched the forum about this and found nothing. The bottom edge (a few mm) of the trackpad doesn't respond to touches. Is that normal and how it's supposed to be?
it's not really a long story, i have a macbook i got in feb. 2007 i paid 1299 for it, (not like it matters, but it's kinda why im annoyed lol) Well, i was carrying it today, and realized that the plastic by the vent i guess? it's on the bottom of the case near the back edge. so anyway, it is cracking, but not from outside it. it just runs straight across. Will apple help me even though I have no applecare? This seems like a manufacturer's defect to me, but i was hoping macrumors' collective knowledge would have a scenario or someone has been through this before. I'm getting pics ASAP!
I will be purchasing the DiNovo Edge keyboard today, so I have to decide. Is it better to get the Mac or windows version? I will be using a Mac Mini and accessing Windows XP through Parallels. My Bootcamp partition is my VM.
My father just sent me a DiskGo Edge external harddrive (used by him but only for some email files, no damage I know of) and it is not at all recognized by my computer, won't show up in disk utility or anything- it also won't show on my school's computers which are also macs. I've tried thier website troubleshooting page and no luck there. It did work on a PC before. There are two blue lights on it, and altough two are on when the power outlet is plugged in, only one is on when i plug the USB in my macbook. It's clearly the external itself since it hasnt shown on 2 computers-- but how do I get it to be recognized?
I have a 2nd monitor attached to my MBAir. I have icons (folders, a few files, and some aliases - not a lot!!) positioned on both monitors. I can work this way just fine for days. (Yes, I do restart nightly and, yes, after a basic restart all the icons stay put.) But sometimes, out of the blue, something happens that causes all the icons on the 2nd monitor to line up on the border between the two screen displays (i.e., almost off the 2nd monitor but not quite completely onto the MBAir's display).
This seems to be related to saving a file onto the desktop -- say, when I'm using Safari on the 2nd monitor and I drag the address bar address to save a webloc file. However, I can do this more often than not with no odd effects. (However, lately I've started dragging into a FOLDER on the desktop to avoid this.) Now, I just watched it happen when all I did was save a tiny .TXT file to the desktop. Of course I can fix things by dragging everything back to where it was (plus, I typically do a Restart before that since I figure something has gone amiss with the system so I'd like to clean things out). But what I'd really like is to figure out is why this is happening in the first place so that I can prevent it ... or, at least, so that I can stop doing whatever special behavior is causing it.
