Apple has long had a business sales group ready to sell Macs to any interested companies, and with the release of iPhone 2.0, the Cupertino-based company made it very clear that it wanted the iPhone to fit the needs of corporate users. That has helped stoke a healthy interest in the iPhone platform among companies who develop custom mobile software. Apple hardened the iPhone's security profile, added Exchange support, and created mass configuration and deployment tools for the deviceFor the iPad, those same corporate-friendly iPhone features will all continue to work, thanks to the iPad being build on the same software foundation. However, the iPad adds a variety of new things that business users should find very attractive.

I bought an older 17" white iMac G5 for my work shop (not taking my newer aluminum one out there!) and it is a 1.8 ghz 80gb white 1st or second gen (I have not determined if it has the ambient sensor or not as of yet). I have read conflicting specs on whether or not this unit takes airport or airport extreme cards. Does anyone know for SURE? It will be a few days until I have this in my hands to look and I'd like to pre-order the card to expedite getting it set up.
I SHOULD be looking to an Apple A1126 Airport card if I am reading right.

I am trying to make a decision on what computer to buy... I am buying this computer mainly for graphic design so the screen is a very important part of this decision.
It is between a Mac Mini:
2.26 GHz Processor
4 MB Ram
120 GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
3 External Hard drives: 1 as my main HD, 1 as a backup, and 1 to bring back and forth to school.
With this monitor:

or
24" iMac
2.66 GHz Processor
4GB Ram
640 GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
2 External hard drives: one as backup and one to bring back and forth to school
My main question is what are the specs on the 24" iMac screen such as panal type etc. and which screen is better: the iMac screen or the HP screen linked above. Remember I'm going to be using it primarily for graphic design.

Not to sound like too much of a tree hugger or anything, but I was wondering if anything has changed with the new models from an "environmentally friendly" perspective? I didn't save a screen shot of the tech details for the old models. Here is the environmental specs of the new models.

I'm about to buy an iMac, and need some help in the final part of my decision-making.
Many threads on this site have been very helpful for answering most of my questions, but now I just need some tailor-made advice for this last bit. Thanks in advance!
Questions about specs first...
I'd use the comp for:the regular stuff (internet, email, word docs, music)
quite a bit of graphics work in programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Painter
Bootcamp for a few graphics-intensive games (Cabal, Assassin's Creed, ...Maplestory? lol)
Bootcamp for graphics programs that aren't available for the mac os
So, on the following 2 specs, please tell me which option would be good, but not redundantly powerful.
Core2Duo/ i3/ i5/ i5 Quad/ i7 Quad
ATI Radeon... 4670 with 256MB/ 4850 with 512MB/ 5670 with 512MB/ 5750 with 1GB
I'm also trying to decide on size. 21.5" is actually a fine size for me, but the maximum specs for 21"s are 3.6GHz, i5, 5670 with 512MB. If this is enough ("comfortably enough"... I don't want "just enough") for my needs, then great. Otherwise I'll have to look at the 27"s for better specs-- unless you know how to beef up the 21" while keeping it cheaper than the 27"s.
Price isn't tooo much of an issue. I can afford up to a 27", 2.93GHz, i7 Quad, 5750 with 1GB. But if my maximum uses require significantly less than that, then I don't want to pay for power that's so far beyond necessary.
"Buy the best you can afford" is tempting, but in the end I'm a little too pragmatic and stingy for that.
Any advice/pointers/stories from experience would be welcome!

So I had decided to bite the bullet a week and a half ago and order an iMac i7 refurb for $1900 from the Canadian Apple Store...
So here's this refresh that has a new graphics card (and minor speed enhancements?)
I am thinking of buying SC2 (and other games in the future) and I'm wondering if its worth returning my current i7 model to get a new i5 refresh with a new graphics card?
I mainly will be using my computer for online video marketing (creating promo videos for businesses) and keynote/screenflow videos...so I know my i7 will deliver in that aspect...
I just would hate to know that I bought a "new computer" that isn't as "future proof" as this new refresh (I plan to keep my computer for 3-4 years)

When I was using Panther I had no problem getting album covers (artwork) from Google but since upgrading to a new iMac and Snow Leopard iTunes won't accept artwork from any other source but the iTunes store. Is there a way around? Am I missing something? Not ALL artwork (albums / one hit wonders) are available through the iTunes store but I still would like their album-covers.

I have gained enough money to purchase a mac mini thanks to Christmas. The thing is that I want to connect it to my VGA monitor, but I would like my Xbox to stay connected to the monitor as well, so I am not switching cables all the time. Is there a way to do this? I will of course be using a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter for the Mac. Is there a dual VGA to single VGA adapter with a switch on it or something to select the source?

I have a Macbook Pro (recently purchased, used) and it's running OS X Mavericks 10.9.4. I downloaded Java to use for a specific program. When I run the program, my computer shows this message:
I then have to go over to Settings < Security & Privacy and select "open anyway"
I know the reason my Mac is blocking it is because it's from an unidentified developer. I'd like to change the preferences to "allow apps downloaded from anywhere" but as you can see in the screenshot, the area is gray. How can I do this?
Also while I'm on this topic, Java is not recognized on my computer. It doesn't show up in Finder. When I finally bypass all the stuff above to open my program, Java finally opens, but disappears completely again when I close the program.
If I try keeping it on the dock and opening it again, Terminal shows up.

People familiar with Apple's upcoming Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard operating system are corroborating reports this week that the software has achieved Golden Master status, adding some additional insight on various enhancements and changes that users will notice during the installation process when compared to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Build 10A432 reportedly went GM a bit earlier this week and is currently on its way to manufacturing, where it will pressed onto optical media ahead of a formal availability date next month. The GM build also began making its way into the hands of some Apple Care support representatives and Apple Technicians on Wednesday.
Some of the changes and enhancements to the Snow Leopard installation process are as follows:
Although Rosetta and Quicktime 7 are both included on the Mac OS X 10.6 installation DVD, both are designated as optional installs by default. However, if Mac OS X 10.6 is being installed on a Mac that contains a registration key for Quicktime 7 Pro, the installer will install Quicktime 7 automatically. Options to "Erase and Install" and "Archive and Install" are no longer present in the Mac OS X 10.6 installer. According to those familiar with the software, this was done for convenience, so that users do not accidentally erase and install their Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard partitions. However, "Erase and Install" remains available through Disk Utility, which is also included on the installation DVD.
If you need to reinstall 10.6, it automatically archives and installs for you. A reinstallation will not affect your Mac OS X version number. In other words, reinstallation of Mac OS X 10.6 on a Mac that contains Mac OS X 10.6.1 (when it becomes available) will not overwrite any new components delivered by 10.6.1. So when the re-install is complete, you will still be running Mac OS X 10.6.1. This will save users considerable time. There is no "Previous System" folder at the root level after reinstalling. If a power outage occurs, installation will pick up from where it left off. To prevent the Blue Screen error that plagued some users when upgrading to Mac OS X 10.5, a software compatibility check is included that has a list of known "bad" apps, and disables them. Those programs are moved to an "Incompatible Software" folder.
Unlike Mac OS X 10.5, you cannot install Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard on computers where the hard drive reports a S.M.A.R.T. failure. Installation initially triggers a large chunk of data to be copied from the installation DVD to the user's primary hard drive. The bulk of the installation is then managed from the hard drive, speeding up the installation process considerably. After a successful installation, that large chunk of data is automatically removed. Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard is priced at $29 for the single user license and $49 for the five-license family pack. The upgrade prices are available for users of the current version of Mac OS X, 10.5 Leopard. Snow Leopard will only be available for Mac users on Intel-based computers.
Also available is Mac OS X Server 10.6 Snow Leopard. Priced at $499, Leopard Server is said to be the most significant improvement to the server operating system since Mac OS X Server was launched. Amazon is also selling box sets with Snow Leopard, featuring the OS, iWork and iLife for $169 and the five-license family pack, iWork and iLife for $229. For more on Apple's upcoming operating system, read AppleInsider's extensive Road to Snow Leopard series. For the sake of completeness, AppleInsider notes that it has heard some rumors that Snow Leopard could be released as early as August 24. However, these anecdotal tips cannot be confirmed with any degree of certainty at this time.

Here is what I want to achieve: I have my MBP with a 500GB hard drive that I want backed up to an external 750GB drive (A). Then I have an external 1TB drive (B) that I also wanted backed up to an external 1TB drive (C).
Or:
Internal -> drive A
Drive B -> drive C
Can Time Machine do this all for me or am I going to need a 3rd-party app to help. I know I can easily use TM for doing one of the backups, but will it handle both? If not, what's a good 3rd-party app that will help me accomplish this?
