I want to update my Nikon Coolpix P6000 firmware.
All I need to do is copy the firmware file to the memory card but I don't have card reader.
Is there a program/driver that will allow me to mount or copy a file to the memory card with the camera plugged directly into the computer?
i just bought my first mac and it's a Macintosh Classic with 4 MB RAM And 80 MB Hard Drive. It has a (i think) SuperDrive and right now i tried putting stuffit expander in it but it seems to not work. Right now if you guys can help me put 1 file on "Grandpa Mac" then i have progress. Programs I tried (HFV Explorer, WinImage, And TransMac).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my new macbook pro today , and when I plugged in my toshiba portable external HDD, the computer put every (or what appears to be every) file in the trash bin. Strangely, the files are still on the HDD and the files disappear when I eject it. I reconnected the hard drive multiple times and the problem still persists. I cannot find one logical explanation as to why this is happening.

I really do not want to with to Lightroom as I am very happy working in Aperture BUT it is not supporting my RAW files from my new camera. Just wondered if there was any tricks or if there is a update for RAW files coming very soon.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with Image Capture not recognizing all the files on my camera (and recognizing photos that have long since been deleted).So I just took a few pictures to test out and see if I could get it to work right. I plugged in my camera and opened up image capture. I clicked download all. It downloaded two pictures that are not even on my camera (I double checked to make sure) and they were deleted weeks ago. And it's not recognizing the pictures I just took. There are about 23 pictures and it's not recognizing any of them just the two pictures that were deleted a while back. What's going on here? I'm new to Mac by the way.
View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently I noticed that finder is not copying all files from my Sony H50 camera to my external hard drive.
The camera opens as Untitled in the finder window (source) and I usually open another Finder window, opened to my destination directory.
I'll then select all the files I want to transfer from the source,and drag them to the other Finder window.
However, Finder will arbitrarily copy less than my selection.
Even at 20 files, Finder only copied 17 files to the destination directory.
Occasionally I'll receive a message that a file already exists. When that occurs Finder will delete all files processed to that point from the destination directory. There are times when I've transferred over 500 files at a time. I wonder how many photos / files I've lost during the past year!
It seems iPhoto cannot import the raw file from my new camera.

I use Aperture 3.5 extensively and have updated to, I think, 6.07 which is the latest update pack but the RAW files are still not recognised in Aperture. Am I doing something wrong or when aperture will be updated for this relatively new camera.

I would like to ask about retrieving some lost files (photographs) on my computer/camera. On Sunday evening, I was uploading photos from my Sony DSC-T10 camera onto my Mac OSX v.10.3.9 Powerbook. While I was deleting some of the files I had uploaded, the camera battery died and was not properly ejected from my computer. After I re-charged the batteries, I connected my camera to my computer again and the computer could not detect any files/photos in my camera. I had approximately 512 photos on the camera that have disappeared.
Note that when I connect my camera to my computer, the files I had been deleting just before the camera battery died shows in my Trash folder. However, when my camera is not connected to my computer, the files do not appear in my Trash folder. I went to Applications > Disk Utility to attempt to find my lost files and the following information appears at the bottom of the screen:

I had clips from my camera that I put into imovie and it's just fine, then later on out of nowhere when I start it it says something like "this imovie project is made for an older version of imovie, would you like to upgrade it and make it match your current version".
Strange thing is I never upgraded my IMovie or anything and now I open it and the videos are in the trash, but instead of the clips I have, it's dragonball z clips with the filename of my files which makes no logical sense. How can I get my clips back and why did this happen?
Recently spotted a weird thing happening when I download images from my Nikon D200. I use Image Capture, but not sure if that's the problem. Maybe it's not a problem - hopefully you guys can help.Basically, when burning a DVD of images for a friend, I noticed that if I dragged over the folder that contained the downloaded images, the disc size in Toast matched the size of the folder, but that if I created a blank disc and just copied over the folder contents themselves, not the actual folder, the disc size was 1.5GB smaller.
So, I fired up TinkerTool and turned on Invisible Files in the Finder, and was shocked to discover that throughout my hard drive, in the folders I download photos into from my camera there are invisible 'photos' with a period at the start of their name (rendering them invisible) that are the size of a full high res photo each - essentially doubling the size of the folder. If I delete a photo in the Finder, it's invisible counterpart doesn't get deleted with it - so what the heck are they? They're taking up GB upon GB upon GB of space on my drive and I can't even see them unless I use TinkerTool.
I cannot load my digital camera all of a sudden because it says most of my files are unrecognizable and has invalid data. Why?

how do I transfer video files shot from my camera (Canon 5DMk2) which is in .MOV format into iTunes ? My photos and video files are first imported into Aperture then synced with iTunes. However, itunes does not capture the Video files but uploads the phtos from Aperture during sync.

I bought a Mac so I could use the free, but good video editing software in iMovie. When I try to import AVI files from my digital camera on to it, it crashes and shuts down before they import... I need help. Also, even if I try to just play a file in finder, quicktime will crash. It is weird, because the files worked perfectly on my old PC. Help please!!!

What is the best way to add these to the Mac Pro? I do have 2 drive bays open but it makes more sense to use these in a RAID 1 or 0 in one bay.
I know about ICY DOCK MB982SPR-2S as a possible option but what else is there? I'm worried the speed won't be that great in the ICY DOCK. Does anybody have any testing to say better?

I originally got a 120 owc ssd for a mac pro I was about to buy but at the last moment decided to hold off for a bit.
This leaves me with a ssd laying around gathering dust. Im thinking about putting it in my MBP but have read lots of horror stories on various forums about ssd problems.
Has their been any resolution to these issues (probs waking from sleep etc) ? I dont want to go to all the effort of reinstalling everything only to enter a world of hurt.

I'm trying to decide if I should get a Mini Server. I'd like to be able to have two internal drives so one can be SSD for OS and the code I'm working on, and the other can be my storage drive. However, I'm not sure if I'll be using the extra functionality of the server edition OSX or not, so I'm reluctant to pay the $200 premium. In a "regular" Mini I could put the SSD internal and use an external big drive, but would the external drive be fast enough via Firewire?

I've been wanting to setup a proxy to bypass the content filters on the WiFi networks I find on the road. For instance, I can't go to the iPhone Dev Team website with the network I'm currently on.
