Applications :: Unable To Use Scroll In Google Chrome - How To Fix ItMay 20, 2010

When using google chrome for some reason when using two finger scrolling I cant scroll over youtube videos.
I am getting more and more used to Chrome, and am liking it tons. I would switch in a second but the one thing it doesn't have that Safari does, is smooth scrolling.
I downloaded smooth scroll plugin, and it makes it great with my mouse, feels like Safari, but the touchpad is 100000000 billion times more sensitive. Touching both my fingers down and just flinching makes me rocket to one end of the page.
I've noticed recently some odd behavior regarding google chrome and my download stacks in the dock. I have my download stacks folder set so that the most current downloaded object shows up as a preview (ex. if its a pdf a photo of the pdf appears).
However recently I've noticed that when i download some .rar files or mp3's, the preview in the stacks icon is just a blank text document. its not until i click the stack and it fans out that i see that a preview of my downloaded file (ex. mp3 will show its album art).
when i click the stack again and the items fan back into the stack, the preview once again turns back into a blank document image instead of the corresponding mp3 image.
I downloaded Google Chrome alpha to check it out.
This is what it looks like when I open it up.
I get this ad every time I load the page. I figured it was a cookie problem so I searched my cookies for 'Google' and deleted all the results. I'm still getting it. It's not happening in Firefox, only Safari. It's been there since Friday or Saturday. Am I the only one?View 2 Replies View Related
So we OS X users haven't been able to get our hands on Google Chrome, yet, but apparently there's this new browser set to fill that void called "Stainless."
I've tried it out and it seems pretty good, but I'm interested in seeing its benchmarks in comparison to Chrome. I'm lovin' the GUI of Stainless!
Why does my google chrome keep redirecting? Firefox is normal, Safari is normal. but Chrome, I can not open a normal page without redirectingView 6 Replies View Related
I've been using Google Chrome for ages and never really had a problem with it until lately, I prefer it to Safari or Firefox etc.
Lately I've found that it's crashing frequently, sometimes webpages just won't load (it will load the title bar and just leave an empty white space on the actual content), and more and more frequently I'm getting the flash plugin crash message come up on it.
I have the latest version of Chrome, and have re-downloaded it and installed it again, repaired permissions etc, but nothing seems to help.
Anyone else come across this or know of a possible resolution?
I was wondering if anyone has run into the problem I'm having with Google Chrome. One day last week it just wouldn't load anymore. i can click it and it will appear in my taskbar like its running, but no go on the UI. I've "googled it".... the problem that is... wow googling a problem with google. What are we coming to? Anyway, I've seen some stuff about it not running on Windows XP, but nothing about MAC.View 12 Replies View Related
Just got my first IMac. Beautiful machine to look at, but there are a few things that I have to get used to. One of them is Safari. Actually, I prefer Google. Any comments?View 24 Replies View Related

I've tried both of these browsers and I like Chrome more in almost every aspect except one. Because of this aspect, I continue to use Safari.
I don't know if this is the official name of the feature but it seems logical to me. Autocomplete or autofill.
Basically, when I am typing a URL in Safari, if the URL is in my bookmarks or history it will complete the rest of the address for me and all I have to do is hit enter.
For example, I have [URL] in my favorites. I type "fa" and safari fills in the rest, I just hit enter and I'm there.
i saw it yesterday on geekbeat.tv , watching one of my favorite podcasts. Its an app that brings the simplicity of tabs to your Finder! (and alot more, including a static Finder hotkey that slides a maximized finder window from the bottom)View 4 Replies View Related

I am using Google Chrome 8.0.552.215 on my Mac (running OSX 10.6.5). I can't get Chrome sync working properly. I had everything setup and working properly this morning between my iMac and my Mac Pro, but then I noticed that my bookmarks didn't import properly from Firefox (I'd imported my bookmarks from Firefox into Chrome on my Mac Pro just prior to initially setting up Chrome Sync).
I decided to delete all of the bookmarks from Chrome on my Mac Pro, then immediately reimport them a second time (making sure to fix the issue that caused my initial problem this second time around). For some strange reason, this has somehow completely screwed up Chrome sync, which doesn't sync anything anymore (bookmarks, extensions, etc...) I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome, but still no luck!
I've logged into my Google Dashboard and deleted all of the Chrome Sync Data, waited a good half hour, then tried setting up Chrome sync again... Google Dashboard does show that data is being synced from this first machine, but then when I set it up on the second computer (with a completely clean install of Chrome), the data never makes it there! I am at a complete loss here. I've even tried using an alternate Google Account, but that didn't work either!
I've just installed the Google Chrome beta for Mac. When I open it, this is what I see: A bunch of little boxes with an "A" character in them. I believe this is the "Last Resort" font that displays when the desired font is unavailable. I do use a font manager so it's possible the font Google Chrome is looking for isn't activated. What would that font be?View 10 Replies View Related
The two things preventing me from using Chrome as my main browser is the lack of Google Gears, unless it does exists and am just not aware of it...so figured i'd ask here.
2nd-ly, 1password support.
But as for now i'm asking if Google Gears exists on Chrome for Mac as I need to be able to access Gmail offline.
Can anyone with experience using the Google browser vouch for what makes it so great? When I have tried it (on four different computers, different networks and locations) a lot of websites don't seem to work at all. I keep running into situations where some plugin seems to be required, but no plugin or fix exists. Why then are so many technology news sites writing such flattering reviews of this browser? Is it really fit to compete with Safari and Firefox?View 5 Replies View Related
I recently started using Google Chrome after seeing all of the new extensions. So far a few things are still left to be desired. I was wondering if anyone knew of an extension I could use to enable bookmark keyboard shortcuts, i.e. Command+1 for your first Bookmark in your Bookmark Bar on Safari. In chrome Command+1 will select a tab if you have multiple tabs open.
The lack of the shortcut has severely slowed down my work flow, I have been using Command+L to focus the address bar and manually typing in the website. I have searched a lot today and found Bookmark Launcher, Shortcut Manager, and Chrome Dial. I am not looking for these extensions. I might use something like USB overdrive and map out the key combination (if I can).
I know the PC version of GoogleChrome has an export tool but I can't seem to find one on the Mac beta version.View 3 Replies View Related

When I am in Google Chrome and I go Chrome -> Preferences all I see is an empty window that's called 'Under the Hood' WTF?! That's all I get. I cant do anything with it, I have left it open for ages. I just decided to switch from Safari because this is quicker and YouTube was making my Safari just freeze up.View 2 Replies View Related
the preferences barely have any options to do anything? i wanna make the size of the letters bigger and have it as a default but i cant figure out how to do it. when i click zoom in it makes it bigger but as soon as i go to a different page it switches back to normal. anyone know if it can be done? im also trying to organize bookmarks and have a google toolbar at the top right of the browser like safari has. i dont even see a popup blocker. what gives? are these things possible to do with this browser?View 11 Replies View Related
For some odd reason, my Google Chrome browser will not show the videos from YouTube, but I can hear the sound in the background.
This problem happened during either after I downloaded all of my OSX updates (this is a new macbook), or after I installed SilverLight to watch some videos on Netflix.
In the past, neither of these had that effect on Google Chrome.
Safari shows videos just fine, so I'm not sure why Google Chrome is all of a sudden having this issue.
I have installed the beta of Google Chrome but is unable to select "Create application shortcut" (not so sure if its the correct words, because my installation is in Swedish)
The option is there to select but is greyed out (disabled).
Anyone knows anything about this?
In the update 5.0.322.2, the pin tabs option is gone. I use this feature all of the time. I right click and the pin tab option is no longer there. Is there a way to enable this? I remember reading that they got rid of this in the Linux version as well in the previous version.View 1 Replies View Related
A couple of months ago, my favorite web browser was Firefox, but as soon as I tested Google Chrome, I changed my choice. I lived happily with it until...
One day, out of nowhere (maybe since Chrome 5.0 update?), I was not able anymore to highlight text. What I mean is that I can highlight the first line or the first three letters (depending on how fast I move on my trackpad). It seems like there is a timer. I have like 500 ms to highlight text and then it stops.
I thought it was Chrome because it seems I am not the only one :
But yesterday, I realised that the bug extended to Microsoft Word!
I don't know what to do anymore... is it a core problem?

Is Google Chrome faster than Safari
i am having trouble with google chrome and i want to remov it from my macbook.
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I read Chrome is supposed to be basic and less resource hungry so I downloaded it and installed it. It is very fast but I have two issues with it. The first is how it does not warn you if you are going to close multiple tabs (I've heard the PC version just added the feature a week ago but who knows?). The bigger issue is that Chrome is ungodly resource hungry or I just do not know how to read a computer...it shows at any given moment that at least 6 Google Chrome processes are running and they take up substantial memory. Below is a pic of the activity monitor (there are 4 more Google processes lower down which I couldnt photo).View 3 Replies View Related
