Just added 11 tracks to iTunes and was sorting them via the info Tab, name of track artwork etc, when adding artwork to the tracks some tracks refuse to retain the picture. Seven out of the 11 tracks refuse to retain the artwork to be exact. I have never had this happen before so a bit confused at the moment

i'm having trouble assigning MULTIPLE pieces of album art to MULTIPLE tracks SIMULTANEOUSLY. i see that i can add multiple arts to a single track by:
.. selecting a single track by highlighting -> get info -> artwork tab
.. selecting and playing a single track (so that the speaker icon appears to the left of the track in the playlist; paused or not) -> dragging artwork into the artwork pane in itunes; artwork gets added only to the track with the speaker icon regardless of which track(s) are highlighted. if there is existing artwork, new art gets added (does not replace old art).
also, adding a single piece of art to multiple tracks can be done by: selecting tracks by highlighting -> get info -> info tab -> artwork field (note: artwork FIELD within info TAB of 'get info' dialog, not artwork tab).....................
how do you play an album in itunes without all the tracks being added to your playlist? whenever i play mp3 tracks no matter what i do they automatically add themselves, and if i dont want them i have to trash them after, if i dont then they become part of my list which is annoying.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my sister's iBook (12 in, 1.2GHz, running OS X 10.3.9), the Microsoft Office Suite and AppleWorks (possibly others, but I haven't discovered them, so I'm assuming just those two) all refuse to open. If I double-click them or click the Dock icon, they bounce once, then stop. Nothing else happens at all. I've repaired permission, trashed preferences, and reinstalled the applications, all to no avail. This is really weird and annoying, and though she can use Pages for now, she'd like to have those at least operational. Anyone have any ideas? I used to be an Apple Tech, but I don't have the diagnostics I had then, and I haven't seen anything like this anyways, so I don't know where to go from here.

I have used handbrake to convert an AVI to MP4 and iMovie sees the file, imports but all i get is a blank screen? The file plays ok just starting it from desktop.
I can't seem to get DVD Player to retain and use saved zoom settings for all disks. I have a Standard Def TV and don't like large bars at the top and bottom of the screen, so I use "Standard Display - Widescreen Mode" so I tried to Save the opreset and clicking the "Use for All Disks" check box. When I insert another disk, the zoom reverts to "Normal" (unzoomed) mode. I've tried deleting the DVD Player plist file, but that has no effect. I also tried unchecking the "Video Zoom" box under DVD Player Prefs (Previously viewed tab/Always use Disk settings), but that doesn't let the preset be used for all disks. Basically, the Save Preset option seems useless unless you view the same disk again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs a DJ, I rely heavily on iTunes' file-viewing options "Date Added" and "Date Modified" in order to gauge how old files in my collection are. However, each time I move files from my computer to my external, 'date added' and 'modified' reset. Clearly 'moving' files to an external is really copying them to an external, but maybe there is a way to copy library content while retaining or freezing the iTunes library's DATA connected to the content....? Is there a way to get iTunes to realize that the identical files previously on my computer are on the external with respect to 'date added?'

When copying a table from say a webpage or even a RTF file, Pages does not retain its table formatting. Instead it separates the rows and columns and puts them on separate lines.
See it for yourself, try copying one of the tables on this page into Pages [URL]
The only way I can get the table into Pages is to paste into NeoOffice (which retains the correct formating), save the file with the .doc extension then open in Pages.
I recently had a HD disaster, all my music (aprox 50000 tracks) got lost. With FileSalvage I got them back, problem is they all lost their id�s, now they are displayed by number. Musicrenamer works on the ones with id3 tag, but I�m still up the creek without the proper instrument. Itunes wont let me get the tracknames as the music wasnt imported using itunes. Anyone know if there�s a way around this? Third party software to get tracknames? I need acces to gracenote or similar database..

Now my question is, is there a quick way of seeing which songs I have that still have DRM on them? I think it's only a few, but I'm trying to figure out without clicking CMD+I on over 1,000 songs.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSome of my cds don't have any artwork with them (choir recordings, friends' recitals, etc) so I just want to add my own pictures or artwork in itunes. The images are all under 200x200, all jpeg (though I've tried other formats as well), and when I go into the "get info" part and add it to the artwork pane, it shows up. But when I click "ok", it doesn't show up with the rest of the albums (as Cover Flow or as Grid). I've tried "clear downloaded artwork" and then adding it, but that doesn't help either.

The old laptop has now died, so they are probably lost forever. I really don't mind re-purchasing these tracks (it's only a handful), but when I look for them in the iTunes store, there isn't the option to 'Buy', it only says 'Purchased'. When I try to add it to .flac, it just shows "Album cover not modifiable" and when I try to add it to .aiff files, it does it, but then when I quit iTunes and restart it, it's gone again.
Is this a bug or it just not possible to add album cover to them?
Btw: Audiophile, would prefer .flac or .aiff over .mp3
In the past month, my usually trusty G5 has taken up a bad habit of refusing to sleep properly. About one time in twenty, it will shut down the displays but not (as far as I can tell) anything else (fans still spinning, pulsating light won't come on). And it will refuse to wake up: I'll be forced to shut it down by holding the power button. I can't reproduce this reliably, so it's a little difficult to troubleshoot, naturally. Any hints of things I should look at or try doing? Current peripherals are: Cinema display; Dell monitor; Logitech RF wireless keyboard / mouse; FW400 hard drive; USB2 hard drive; Logitech 2.1 speaker system; sometimes iPod mini. (I don't think it's the iPod. It used to sometimes wake itself back up immediately after sleeping with the iPod plugged in, but this new problem has happened both with and without the iPod attached.)

Once I have all the .mp3s on my HD, I'd like to combine them into one CD, divided into tracks. They are generally stories reminiscing about childhood, and I'm going to make some CD jackets that describe each one as X-mas gifts. View 7 Replies View RelatedIn order to burn an album you can't simply click on the album cover and tell it to burn what's stored in the library... you have to make a playlist from it and burn that.
But it has a mind of it's own. You can't sort the list and burn it the way you want it to.
I even had it sort by track number and it burned it out of order.
So now that all iTunes tracks are supposed to be DRM free. Does iTunes machine authorization still matter? I can't even see where I can authorize/unauthorize the machines anymore when I log into my account-though iTunes does report 3 machines authorized.

So here's my Question. If/When I drop new music into iTunes while the external HD on, how can I be sure it's copying to the external HD? I just dropped some new music into iTunes, and then when into the iTunes folder in the external HD, and it doesn't seem to be there. Do I have to set something up in iTunes Preferences? (cause I can't seem to find it!)

I have a huge box of records (probably about 50 or so) that i am recording in order to put on CD. I have about 10 of them done already, with each side of the record in its own garageband project. Now i need to go about splitting each side into separate tracks. Is there an app designed to streamline this process? I've tried splitting the tracks apart in garageband but it just takes forever.I recall hearing that Toast has an app designed to record vinyls, is that what im looking for?
