Jun 1, 2012I purchased OSX Lion from the App store, and it started downloading fine. Then however I got a message saying that it was unable to download the app and to check my internet connection. The connection is fine. and when I go back to the app store and go to purchased apps Lion is listed with a down;oad button, however when I click download it does nothing!

I am on slow internet connection and whenever the download fails, if I start it again it starts from 0 Bytes instead of resuming from the point it stopped. Jul 12, 2008I noticed it yesterday nite when I was downloading the 2.0 firmware. at about 50% complete, my ethernet showed an error and the whole thing went to 0.0 kb. at that time i thought maybe it happens so with the firmware download but the same thing is happening with podcast downloads. I know for a fact that resume used to work earlier. now, if the download is interrupted, it goes back to zero.

App Store :: Download Interrupted And Now Can Not Complete Install?
Mar 18, 2012I purchased Call of Duty Modern Warfare, a large 7gig download, the download was interrupted and I had to re-boot. In the App Store under Purchases it lists the purchase but not installed. When I click install, box changes momentarily but then nothing happens. There is no option to resume, or re-download. Perhaps the download was complete before the interruption but there is no indication anywhere under launch or in Finder. What are my options? Is this common? I am already regretting buying such a large program.

May 9, 2012I'm trying to download the new ios update for my iphone, but it's 750MB and takes a long time to download. But that was ok, because apple at least added a resume button. But now I can't get to the download screen to resume. Where is the download screen? I tried going through the store, but its not listed in the history of purchases since it wasn't actually retrieved from the store. How do I get to this screen to resume my download?

Apr 24, 2009I am trying to create a resume in pages '08, but the header on the resume template is way too big for my purposes. I would like to shrink it so I can fit ~ 2 more lines of text onto the first page.
I have tried
1. exporting it to word
2. clicking everywhere in on the page
3. shrinking the line spacing between subheaders and sections, but it was not enough.
4. swearing
Is it possible to make the spacing of the header smaller, or am I just sol?
Are Cancelled Mac App Store Downloads Deleted
Jun 12, 2012I was attempting to download a 3 GB application from the Mac App Store. I cancelled it as it was slowing down my internet speed, but now I am redownloading it. I am worried that the file might still be on my computer as Launchpad still showed the progress bar even after I closed the App Store application. The file downloaded was close to 1 GB and I can't tell if my Mac automatically deleted the file for me.

Sep 3, 2014I have used a third party video converter (PavTube Video Converter) successfully for some time on my Mac Desktop using OS X 10.6.8. I have acquired a new MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9.4. Initially I installed the PavTube application from the install DVD. However it would not recognize video files on the MacBook Pro. PavTube sent an updated aplicatioin which I have downloaded and installed on the MacBook Pro. When attempting to open the application I was faced with a message that the application could not be opened because it was not downloaded from an Apple certified provider. What do I do to be able to use the application?

Apr 26, 2012This problem I've been having started when the latest version of Safari moved from a Downloads window to a Downloads pop-up pane. My expectation as to how the pane should work is this: the 20 most recent downloads are shown in the list, and when a new download begins, the oldest download is removed from the list, thereby keeping the new list updated with the 20 latest downloads. My problem is that while the pane still keeps 20 past downloads listed, they're not always recent downloads. For example, when I download a file, the file will typically remain in the list until I begin a new download, at which point the slightly earlier download will be removed from the list, while even older downloads remain listed. So at the moment, listed are five recent downloads and fifteen downloads from many months ago, while downloads from days or hours ago have been removed from the list.In Preferences I have (and always have) "Remove download list items" set to "Manually." Currently I am running the lasted versions of OSX (10.7.3) and Safari (5.1.5).Â

It's under my email and apple ID, but my mom is on the same account, on her own computer. I want to have automatic downloads so I can use it for my iphone and ipad, but I don't want her song to end up going to my devices or laptop when she downloads from her own computer. is there a way to either turn off automatic downloads for just one computer, or get her a new account, but letting her transfer all of her music onto the new one?

Mar 26, 2010Recently, I was installing Windows 7 on my Bootcamp partition, and the installation was going fine, but I ran out of energy so the installation was interrupted. I boot my Mac OS, opened Bootcamp and erased the partition just to create it again and install Windows once again. However, when I loaded the installation from my DVD, I got an error message saying that a CD/DVD driver was missing, and it found no hard drives even after rescanning my computer. When I chose browse, I was surprised when I saw not 2, but 3 partitions, one with my MAC OS, the new Bootcamp partition, and a drive called X: that was created when the past install got interrupted.
I've tried erasing the partition in bootcamp over and over, but I can't erase it, even though Mac OS tells me my drive now consists of a single volume. Do I need to format my whole drive? Do I need to install OSX? Will I lose all my applications and data? In case you need it, here's some info:

Jun 3, 2012I don't know when this started, but it's been the case for months: let's say I drag 10 albums' worth of files to copy to my iPhone (under manually manage music)--that will take a minute or so to copy via wi-fi. But, now, if I drag another album over to copy before the previous batch of 10 has finished transferring, the 10-album transfer is canceled, and the new album starts copying in its place. Before, dragging new files over to the phone during a copy would add to a "queue" such that your current copy job was not canceled.

Apr 4, 2010I was importing some photos into Aperture when my battery unexpectedly died (that's a separate issue). I started the computer (a black MacBook) up again and opened Aperture only to have it be momentarily unresponsive followed endlessly by the rainbow spinning ball. Force quitting and restarting gives more of the same.
Any ideas on how I can make Aperture usable again? It's quite important to me.
For what it's worth, I'm running Aperture 2.1.4

Jul 9, 2009. Ok so I installed Logitech Control Center so I can change the function of the buttons on my mouse. So when it was done installing it said that the computer had to restart, so I pressed ok, right when my Mac shut down, this pop said something about Boot Cache or something. The pop up only showed up for about 2 seconds and disappeared. I think Logitech Control Center reset my PRAM because I had to retype my network password and my date/time when my mac restarted. Is this normal? I deleted the Logitech Control Center icon in the System Preferences pane because it may be interfering with my Mac. Is there anything wrong with my Mac or is there nothing I should be worried about?

Mar 18, 2012This error probably indicates a hardware problem or some system malfunction. I usually try to find out what exactly went wrong to take measures to avoid the repetition of the same problem. Exchanging the HD and restoring the sytem may be the quicker solution, but I would miss an opportunity to reconfigure my system to make it more robust.Â
The system in question is a MacMini (Model A1347) with Os-X-Server 10.6.7. and 2 physical HDs: HD1 has 2 Partitions, the smaller for the server OS, the larger for the Shares (We use the MacMini only as a file server). HD2 is not used (was kept in reserve for cases like this). Â
That there may be a problem manifested itself first when the mounting of the shares on HD1 became suddenly slow (within 2-3 days) and eventually failed. I first tried to copy all the files from the shares on HD1 to HD2 before attempting any repair actions. Most of the files copied properly but a few failed with error (-36). Those few can be restored from backups, so there is no data loss. Remains the question, what went wrong? Â
It may be pure coincidence but just before the File-Server failed there was an attempt to upgrade a 3rd party software on one of the clients (17'' MacBook Pro / OS X 10.6.8) to a newer version. Could be that new version was part of the problem because the data files of this 3rd party software are stored on one of the shares on HD1 and the data file format has been changed between the versions. For obvious reasons I need to make sure that this data file conversion was not the cause of the problem?
1) first check the HD1 with a different tool than DiskUtility (It thinks the HD1 is in perfect shape), TechTool Pro or DiskWarrier comes to my mind, any reason to prefer one over the other?Â
2) Hopefully those tools can reliably test whether the HD1 is damaged or not. If it is the former the HD1 replacement option is the way to go and there is no more reason the 3rd party software may have been involved. However if HD1 is not damaged I'm left with the uncertainty of what exactly lead to the problem..?Â
3) Is there any check I should do before I just re-format the HD and re-install the OS and switch back to an earlier version of the 3rd party software to be on the safe side? Â
