For some reason a whole bunch of new icons showed up in my Launchpad all of a sudden. I haven't installed anything new that I know of, but I'm wondering if this happened after an Apple update. Here is a screencap: [URL]. What these little script icons are for? They do not exist on my other Macs.

When I open Launchpad I can't see the app icons, only the names. I am able to click the names and the apps will run. I can see the icons in finder, however. Also, keep in mind that my computer has virtually no storage left. Here's a screenshot:

I recently installed an application to my macbook pro. However when I installed it the uninstaller also shows in the launchpad. It is so unattractive and I was wondering how to get rid of it? Everytime I open lanchpad I see it. Dragging to the trash does not work, it only works if I want to uninstall it.

I just tried to re-arrange my launch pad icons (having read these forums searching an answer for my issue, i now realise this is pointless since Launchpad will move them back). Â

In my launchpad shows two icons of "iPhoto" if you delete one later on, the icon appears again and now I find myself two icons of the same application. why? What should I do. I'm afraid that if I delete both, then I can not re-download the app from the Apple Store.

On my desktop the little disk image icons are coming up when i open certain applications. I wanna make them disappear, but still be able to see ipods, cds, and external drives.

I downloaded a bunch of icons. After unpacking they show like unix executable files or they look like "document" files. I try renaming them with extenstions: .icns and .jpg, but with no luck. And I've tried to open the info box and mark the icon in it and then press delete, but no luck there to

well this just started fairly and I really have no idea why, basically when I download a new app like powder game or desmemu for example, the icons will not show, it shows that sort of "paper with the pencil and ruler ect that makes a 'A' mark at the bottom right" icon :/

I place document icons in my finder sidebar, and sometime later they change to folder icons. Does not matter which application they come from, it seems to happen to them all, but they are still linked to the correct documents.

This is likely a Snow Leopard issue, but since it's happening on my Macbook....
Icons are (mostly) not displaying. In Finder my /Applications folder is ok, but anything new I install into it will have a name but no icon. In /Applications/Utilities no icons are showing My dock is ok, so far at least. On my Desktop (my default folder for downloads) anything downloaded will have a name but no icon. When installing a new program no icon for the app displays, just the name.
I don't know when this started happening, but all of a sudden in coverflow all the images display as their file type icon, not the preview of the image, which defeats the purpose of coverflow. Anyone know how this happened and how to switch it back?
Incidentally, all the icons show for Xee, the image browsing app, which I'm using only because Preview is being a jerk and constantly displaying itself in my secondary monitor, which I keep off most of the time (it's a wacom cintiq, and it's distracting to have turned on when not in use). If I can somehow fix this all by fixing preview and getting rid of Xee, I certainly would.
The icons for the songs on one of my albums are wrong. How can I correct them to show the correct icons? I've tried the "get album artwork" but it doesn't put the correct icon on the song. (There was a volume 1 and a volume 2 and all the icons are from volume 1).

Yesterday I accidentally opened Terminal and didn't realize it until after I typed into it and hit a few returns. I thought nothing of it until today. When I started up all of the desktop icons were ghosted or transparent. The Dock apps look fine, and everything seems to work OK. There are odd .DS_Store files everywhere and other files that start with a dot that I've heard are supposed to be invisible.
I've looked around and found out that it's a Finder problem that can be corrected by typing something into Terminal. That's how I realized I must have messed it up yesterday when I accidentally typed into the Terminal. What code I need to enter into Terminal to restore it to the default settings. I have a Dual 2.7 GHz PowerPC G5 with OS 10.4.11, and other than this problem it works great.

Recently I've been having a problem with the way my icons are arranged. It's like the screen its moved a little bit up. There's an image to show you how it looks like when it happens (because it happens sometimes, I dunno what I causes). I have a variety of apps in Launchpad and I have them arranged just how I like them but then I shut down my MacBook Pro at the end of the day and the next day my apps are in completely different locations. It is really quite annoying to have to rearrange them manually after I boot up my Mac.

Trying to install Google Earth, I wound up with 2 Google Earth icons in my Launchpad. Why is it so difficult to delete an icon from the Launchpad? I deleted Google Earth from my Applications but there still remains a Google Earth icon on my Launchpad. Why is everything on this Mac so difficult?
