Jun 25, 2012Mail iwill show that I have x (22 for example) mails, but instead of showing the 22 different e-mails, it lists one e-mail, with 22 copies.The only way to get the proper list back, is to rebuild the mail box. When this problem is bad, like today, I've rebuilt my mailbox 5 times in the last hour.

Mar 16, 2012My white 17" intel imac screen is about 60% covered with the vertical line problem, ive tried openeing it and blowing air through it, in hopes it was just some crazy dust accumulation, and smc fan control, but its getting worse by the week. i have a g5 imac 17" with a perfect screen, but a dead HD so i dont use it,can i get my G5 screen taken out and put into my intel? id think it would be possible since their the same same size screen for the same type of imac unless the the inner connections, placement etc. is different between the two.

Intel Mac :: Why Is It So Hard To Research A Proper Replacement For SuperDrive
Mar 17, 2012I have a late 2009 27" iMac.I am very capable of repairing my own machine. I replaced the HD over the holiday break without a glitch. My struggle is my SuperDrive needs replacing.It will no longer burn dual layer disks. So, I thought it would be simple to find a replacement and get one ordered.The names of drives don't really help shoppers shop by brand, etc. Mine is a "HL-DT-ST DVDRWÂ GA11N". Nice. Try googling that...Some say that name relates to an LG brand drive, while others clearly don't agree. How is an end user supposed to replace such a part if trying to find an exact match it is so difficult? Also, there have been so many others with failed drives that I really don't want to buy a used one, as I'm sure it too would fail; however, general internet serches don't give me many options for new. Perhaps that is because I still don't know the true brand of the existing "turd" that is in my Mac.I'm tired of looking and not seeing much out there. You would think there would be clear options or ways to shop for an "upgraded and compatable" drive.

Jun 3, 2012When I turn my computer on, a gray bar must be filled (takes about 20 mins) before it goes to the login page. Then, when I log in with the corrct password, the screen abruptly turns white like the startup white page for about 5-10 seconds (time varies each time) and then goes back to the login page where it will happen again and again. This all started when I banged my mouse and it stopped working and I held down the power button to turn off the computer and then hit it again to turn it on.

Mar 19, 2012I have an iMac with a 500 GB hard disk. Currently I have two partitions on it. According to Disk Utility one partition is 266 GB in size, the other one 200 GB. That makes a total of 466 GB --> 34 GB missing.Previously I had a Bootcamp-Windows partition of about 30 GB, but I erased it using Disk Utility. However, it seems that the space is still missing.What could be the explanation for this, and how can I get this space back?

Apr 16, 2012When I opened safari my homepage was apple and it opened using the middle of the display with the desktop screensaver visable on both sides of the page now it opens adn takes up the whole screen I don't know how to resize it and save it where it will open to the same all the time. I'm a very new owner of an IMAC and to apple so I'm completely in the dark to mac systems and just stumbling around.
