Intel Mac :: Adding More Than One Birthday To On Person?
May 10, 2012
I am currently using Mac OS X 10.7.3?I am trying to add multiple birthdays in my Address Book under one person, thier family members and I want it to sync with iCal. I also did not see the Anniversary option in Address Book?
I have just updated all of my friends birthdays in iCal. I would like to set it up so that it alerts me 7 days before the date for every birthday. I don't really fancy doing this 60 times, is there anyway to do all of them at once?
I have a playlist with songs that I have put comments on, ratings and so on. I want to share this playlist with another person (my boss, actually), how do I easily get this playlist to his computer with all the comments and ratings still on?
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
I installed Snow Leopard on my mother's MacBook at the weekend and, after updating the software, I immediately logged into the Mac App Store, with her AppleID to buy Lion.I used my credit card to pay for it.I saw earlier today that when she logs onto the Mac App Store it welcomes me instead of her.I assume this is because of the name on the credit card, but I want to ensure that the Lion OS is indeed in my mother's name and not mine - registered to her AppleID.I was going to upgrade to Lion myself later in the week and I don't want there to be any confusion between the two purchases.Does the Lion purchase belong to the AppleID, irregardless of who pays for it?
where I can't get the notification when the other person is typing. Below is a screen shot when the function was working, you see a " " which lets you know the other person is typing: However this is not working anymore. It works for Google Talk, but it doesn't seem to work for AIM.
So my issue is that sometimes I just want to watch another person on cam on iChat but when I disable my camera it disables their ability to send me a one way video chat. Is there any way I can turn my cam off and still view theirs? I feel like iChat is forcing me to be on cam.
Many of the operations I perform related to business, such as setting up different tables, doing different functions, etc., are easily performed on Microsoft Excel for PC. I'm sure all of the other business professionals in this forum can agree that Excel for PC truly is the application of the business world, allowing a vast array of different functions to be performed.
However, I am simply not satisfied with Micrsoft Office for Mac 2008. I know a lot of this has to do with the suite of applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) being designed to run on Mac OS X, as opposed to a Windows operating system, but the feel and functionality is completely different.
Therefore, I am considering purchasing iWork when a new version is released.. this will allow me to perform different business operations on my Mac while I don't have access to Excel for PC. I will therefore avoid the frustration of Excel for Mac.
As a businessman or businesswoman, would you recommend iWork? How do you cope with needing to perform different complex business operations when you do not have access to Microsoft Excel for PC?
I have just upgrade to iPhoto 09 (a bit late i know) i manually tag 20 photo of myself (very certain photo quality is fine), but iPhoto keep saying "XYZ may also be in photos below. No matches found" i try tagging another person, same result i have over 10,000 photos loaded in iPhoto, a lot of them displaying clear head shots... anyone know what might be the problem?
Quick question about Faces in iPhoto '11: I have some pictures of a specific person, say Vicky, and her face is linked with an Address Book entry. Now, when I find a new picture of Vicky, and type "V", the usual name list comes up but now there are two Vickys: the address book one, and the Facebook one (and they are really the same person). How do I make iPhoto "link" the address book contact with the facebook contact?
Every since Ive updated to Snow Leopard my amsn has been crashing, a lot. And besides that I cant get video calls, or at least share web cam with anybody any more, either it will crash or Ill be able to see the other person, but the other person wont see me.Ive updated to the latest 0.98 version, but no luck whatsoever. Ive been searching for help, but all the answers Ive got were related to Linux.
I am running the latest skype on my macbook pro, everything is working except I can't hear the person talking, they can hear me fine, any ideas? I have been through the sound preferences on skype and the sound in system preferences trying things with no luck.
I have a mini i7 with a Logitech HD Pro webcam. The person at the other end gets a bad echo of themselves when video chatting. The issue is on my side, not theirs. Tried face time and google talk. Even tried two different web cams. My wife's iMac has a check box to "use ambient noise reduction" my mac mini doesn't have that option. How can I fix this. Surly there are mac mini owners using webcams?
When skyping, my mac book pro keeps dropping callswith one person and they told me that more calls get dropped with me than with anyone else.. Apparently, it's the worst with my computer according to those I skype with.
1. Just changed the modem, so that isn't the problem. Mail now wont' send emails - just malfunctioned. Is anyone getting this happening? Has done it for twice - I've looked at settings - just says it is now offline.
2. Mail programme is not adding attachments correctly. Had 2 people say documents weren't attached that should have been.
Is this just a glitch on my machine or is there something else going on?
I have noticed that company entries in the Address Book don't seem to work like "person" entries in Mail. If I have a "person" named (for example) "John Doe", I can email that person just by typing "John Doe" in the To: section, and selecting from a list that populates automatically. However, if the address-book entry is for a company (e.g. Dave's Florist), it doesn't seem to work at all. And since Mail doesn't seem to have "address" functionality that lets you select from the Address Book, it seems like the only option is to go into the address book, copy the e-mail address, to back to mail, and paste.
I VNC to my iMac all the time (usually from iPhone with Jaadu, sometimes from another Mac with Leopard's Screen Sharing function: Connect to Server vnc://....) But lately it only works for a couple of days. After that, the remote computer's screen goes black and accepts no input. (But I can see/move the mouse cursor.) Once I get home from whatever trip I'm on, I then see that it's the same in person: all-black, no response to clicks or keys. I can move the mouse but I can't do anything at all. There's no solution except to force power-down.
For security, I run the "Computer Name" screensaver with password lock. The first time the black screen appears I see just a flash of the password dialog and then it's gone. After that, I never see anything but black (and the mouse arrow). The remote computer is NOT crashed, because it accepts the VNC connection request and password, and because it keeps churning out work from Folding@Home (which I can see on my stats page). But after a day or two away (maybe one VNC session per day) the screen and input are gone. Anyone else see this? (The only two changes made to that system lately: a new version of EyeTV software--but it's not recording or anything. And the 10.5.7 update. I'm guessing it's something new to do with 10.5.7.)
I have an early 2009 Mac Pro and I'm thinking of adding a new HD. Im a video editor and have already 75% of my space. My questions are.
1. How much will it cost and where is the best place to buy them?? 2. How difficult is it to install yourself? 3. Will it affect my previous hardrive? 4. How much more reliable are they than external HD's???
I'm about to order a new (17") MBP and obviously will take the 4Go model and add myself another extra 4Go. Can anyone recommend model/brand/site to order this? I'm living in Europe but site should be in the USA as i'm ordering it on the US AppleStore to have it (and the RAM as well) delivered to my friend's who lives in Pittsburgh and brings all back to me over here in May.
i have a late 2006 20'' imac that was handed down to me.according to apple official website, this imac can handle up to 3GB of ram(it came with 1GB as 2 512MB rams) can i install 4GB as 2 sticks with 2 gigs each? what kind of trouble might i face if i do so? and do you have any brand recommendations for the purchase of the new rams?
There is a big difference I would notice by adding more RAM to my machine. I use Photoshop, FCP, VMware (windows 7 and XP) and all the basic apps (itunes firefox etc). Haven't done much gaming but want to now that I have my MP. Would I notice a difference by adding 2 or 4 more GB in my 2 empty slots?
