Apr 30, 2010Just an FYI, CS5 will install Growl automatically and start it. Yet the only app that it lists in the Growl config for Adobe is the Adobe Application Manager?

Applications Install DVD
Is this all I am supposed to get? I thought I was supposed to get iLife disks? What are they both for? And which one is the one I have to use when I install Windows via bootcamp?

May 31, 2009I was thinking of buying adobe cs4 suit student edition (web premium) but I have two machines. An iMac and macbook. I can only presume that adobes terms and conditions say that you can only install it on one machine. but that is there to most probably stop people giving it to others to install. I am the only one thats going to ever use it. So my questions is can it be install more than once using the same serial key? if yes do you know how many times can you activate the serial key.

Aug 29, 2008I just switched my settings in Mail so that I'm now checking my Gmail accounts using IMAP rather than POP. This has gone smoothly save for one thing: Growl now notifies me of every piece of Spam that comes into the Spam folder on the server. Is there any way to adjust this?
Likewise, Growl also notifies me about anything new message on the server, whether it's an e-mail I have sent (added to the server-side Sent Messages folder) and also takes to notifiying me two, three, or even more times for a single message (because it comes into the All Mail folder on the server and then into my client-side mailbox in Mail)

Aug 29, 2009Since I installed Snow Leopard I have an annoying bug when I have Growl and Firefox installed. When I start up Firefox, the windows isn't on focus (window is kind of in the background). On Leopard I started Firefox and immeditatly I could press cmd+L to write the homepages. With SL I need to click first into the Firefox window because it wasn't on focus after starting up. This weird behaviour only appears when I have Growl installed, if i deactivate Growl, Firefox starts on focus, but since I need Firefox AND Growl, this annoys me a lot..
Could anybody of you who also uses SL, Firefox and Growl test if the Firefox window is on focus after starting the app, ? I tried it on 3 different Macs and all of them have the same bug. :-( I already wrote to the Growl and the Firefox team, but until now both of them say it's the other apps fault...

Feb 10, 2010My system drive recently failed and so I installed on a another drive in my mac pro. I've taken the other (failed) drive out. My current system drive which works great so far when my computer is booted up and running, is not found automatically during start up. For example, if I restart the computer it will either show me a blank screen forever, sometimes a missing folder, sometimes nothing. But if I hold option during start up, sure enough the system drive will show up and I can go on my way with no problems.

Aug 13, 2009My Mac attempts to start up and automatically shuts down on it's own. It continues to start and stop for several minutes and finally boots up. Once it's up it works OK. I've had it in to the Mac store and they tell me it's probably the power supply, but after leaving it on all weekend it seemed to work OK so they didn't do anything. After I brought it home it is still acting in the same way. It's only on trying to start up that it cycles through the start - stop action. Once I turn it off it's the same problem on trying to start again. Does this sound like a power supply problem?

Feb 19, 2009my safari and firefox wouldnt start download some links automatically. for examples some megaupload links and some website like this one [URL]. when u click on 'UNSUPPORTED TETHERED REDSN0W - REDSN0W LITE' firefox or safari should start the download automatically, put mine wouldnt. i have to right click and choose 'save file as' to download the file. i have a friend, she's using the same spec macbook as me and she also uses the same wifi as me, when i gave her the megaupload link which i can't download and also the website [URL], she didnt have any problem downloading them.

Oct 29, 2009The automatic Flip4Mac updater will install Microsoft's SIlverLight browser plugin automatically unless the user does a custom install. It was even going to install it on my 10.6.1 machine although the MS web site claims that SilverLight is tested through 10.5. I have contacted the Flip4Mac support people since I believe this is Malware behavior.
Most Mac users will be unaware of what SilverLight is and how it will effect their machine. Nor will most experts think to check for/remove it when troubleshooting. If you wish to make your concerns known, contact their desktop support group, and include "Support Case 1-74223" in the subject line.
OS X :: After Clean Installs - Premium Application Can Be Restored
Sep 2, 2009If I were to do a clean install of snow leopard, would I later be able to bring my applications over via time machine. That being said, I currently have Adobe CS4 Design Premium and Microsoft office 2008 and itunes. Would I have to unlicense the programs and deauthorize my account before the clean install to make sure that i wouldn't lose the licenses and the authorizations.
