Mar 23, 2010I have a signature set up in Apple Mail with an image. When I send an email to a PC user, they do not see my signature in the body of the email. The signature is viewed as an attachment. Is there anyway to resolve this in Apple Mail? I know if I set the signature to plain txt instead of rtf this works, but then I can't have a fancy image signature. If I move across to Entourage, will this solve it? Is it a limitation on Apple Mail's side?

OS X Yosemite :: Unread Apple Mail Showing As Read
Dec 3, 2014I just converted a few of my Bluehost-hosted email accounts from POP to IMAP. These accounts and Apple Mail, itself, is on my hard drive (not in iCloud). For some reason, after about five minutes of sitting untouched in my Yosemite Apple Mail inbox, emails sent to these three addresses appear to be "read." The blue dots disappear, even though I haven't clicked on them. Seriously, they haven't been touched. That's not true of the email accounts I have with two other providers (CoreComm and GoDaddy) that I left as POP accounts. They stay marked as unread until I actually click on them. What could be causing this to happen?

Jan 25, 2010I know i am not the only one w/this problem but i wanted to post and see if anyone has found a solution of if there has been an update. i googled around today to no avail. issue: gmail imap read status does not update in apple mail until its restarted. If i read an email on my iphone, it will show as read in iphone mail, gmail web interface, but NOT apple mail unless its been restarted. if the email is read in apple mail, the gmail interface will show it as read, as will the iphone. surely apple is aware of the issue? has this been fixed in snow leopard? anyone discovered any work arrounds? feel free to post here, even if you have no answers, you just happen to also suffer from this "affliction"

Apr 4, 2012I'm having trouble upgrading to iTunes 10.6.1. Earlier today, I opened iTunes, and received an error message that "iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." Still not sure why this happened. I followed a workaround I found by essentially renaming a previous iTunes library. Now, I open iTunes, and when I click on "software update," it is indicated that I can update to 10.6.1. However, this takes me to the main Mac Software Update program, but unfortunately I'm told that there are no updates for my computer. The "current version" I am using is iTunes 10.5.1. how I can actually upgrade to 10.6.1?Â

Jul 17, 2010My hard drive was filling up, so I decided to try and move my music over onto my external. I thought I could do it without reading any guides and I ended up in a royal mess. I now have the folder Music/iTunes/(Album Artwork, iTunes Library, etc) copied over onto my external.
I have completely uninstalled iTunes from my computer, and my internal hard drive has the user/music folder clear.
What is the easiest way to have my iTunes reading my music from my external? I would like to keep playlists and playcounts if possible.
I am on a computer with Mac OSX 10.5.8.

Jun 21, 2014My old iMac had OSX 10.5.xx and iTunes 9.xx installed and the iTunes library was stored on an external HD. I have run iTunes that way for many years and had to upgraded the HD a couple of times to the point I now have a 4TB drive for my iTunes library.Â
I have now bought a new iMac that has OSX 10.9.3 and iTunes 11.2.2 installed on it. I changed the default library location under iTunes preferences but it tunes does not read the files and keeps on wanting me to file my files from the Cloud.Â

I burnt a DVD this morning - two actually as the first copy had a 'verification' error. When I was finished, I dragged the burn folder (folder icon with the radioactive symbol on it) from the desktop to the trash. Later in the day, I emptied the trash.Same as I do about once a week. Despite emptying the trash and restarting the computer, the folder still shows up in the list of places in the left column of an open finder window.
The folder is not on my desktop and is not in my trash, just in the list of places. When I try to click on the folder in the list, I get a message "The Volume for ..... cannot be found". In the past, dragging the folder from the desktop to the trash, emptying the trash and then restarting has always removed it from the list of places (and I believe similarly when I have software updates via .dmg files). So the questions are: (1) how do I get rid of it now and (2) what could have caused it to happen.
