IPhoto 11 :: Crashes Immediately Upon Startup

I get this error report when trying to open iPhoto. Bear in mind that i'm transferring iPhoto from an older MacBook Pro to a new iMac and not all of the files seem to have come across:

Dyld Error Message:Library not loaded: /Library/Frameworks/iLifeSQLAccess.framework/Versions/A/iLifeSQLAccess
Referenced from: /Applications/
Reason: image not found

I cannot find this file, does anyone know where i can find it or how to get it? Or anything else I might try to get iPhoto to open?

OS X Leopard :: Firefox Crashes Immediately On Startup
I'm unable to open Firefox -- any version of it -- on my MacBook Pro (Mac OS 10.5.5). Starting Firefox 3.0.3 immediately results in Crash Reporter coming up, usually within 4 or 5 seconds. I've tried a number of things to fix it, including reinstalling Firefox 3.0.3, as well as trying 2.0.17. It continues to crash.

I've deleted the .plist file and tried other ideas I've found online (repairing permissions with Disk Utility, creating a new Firefox profile, etc.). Any potential fixes that involve actually opening Firefox are difficult because it crashes so quickly. This is immensely frustrating, as I need to run a Firefox add-on for my job.

Aperture :: Crashes Immediately After Startup - Every Time
I have been running the trial version of Aperture 3.0.1 since its release (and 3.0 before that) without any major problems. Earlier today was editing keywords when Aperture suddenly crashed. It has happened earlier but not very frequently and it was fine after a restart. This time however i cannot restart it - it crashes directly after I was acknowledging an alert that I am running a trial version.

I tried to reboot but the macbook did not restart. I did a safe reboot which worked well. Then I rebooted it again and everything seemed fine apart from Aperture which crashes directly. I am grateful for any tips. (I have a full backup from yesterday but have done some major importing and updating since then and would prefer not having to do that again. I have bought the proper version and expect to get it in the beginning of next week )

Software :: Safari 3.1.1 Crashes Immediately Upon Startup
I recently upgraded to Tiger and started using Safari 3.1.1. It was working great for a few weeks until I installed a 3rd party add-on. Safari now crashes upon startup within about 7 seconds. I removed all files that this add-on had installed and I tried re-installing Safari 3 and even tried to install Safari 2 to see if that would work, but no go. If I click on anything it will start beachballng until it crashes. I was wondering if someone could give me a list of all the files that have anything to do directly with Safari so that I can delete them all and reinstall. Also, if there is anyone who would be willing to look at a crash report for me to try to figure out what is wrong.

A couple of days ago I added 3 large folders of pictures to the pictures folder and ever since, my whole pictures folder keeps on crashing. Whenever I open any subfolder in pictures, the window closes. Also, when I open the pictures folder, it kind of flashes/flickers. Mac Safari :: Unable To Use - Crashes Immediately
So as of about a week ago, I haven't been able to use safari at all. As soon as I click on the icon, a box pops up that says "The application Safari quit unexpectedly", below I have pasted what I get when I click report. The Safari information at the top of my screen shuts off when Safari does as well. Also, the Itunes store is telling me that I need to update my safari, but when I click on update nothing for Safari comes up.

Applications :: Mail Crashes Immediately On Opening
I haven't installed any plug ins, altered the accounts, or done anything different in mail today. For some reason, it all of the sudden stopped opening - can't even get a main screen up when I launch it. I've tried deleting plists, holding shift on start up, checked for any problematic mail being downloaded via my iPad, repaired permissions and even tried to launch yesterday's version from Time machine. I've tried opening Mail without being on the internet too. I have an exchange account and a mobile me account on there, and both have been working perfectly until today. I have a 2009 Unibody Macbook Pro running 10.6.4. My crash report is almost twice the length of the allowed word count so can't post it - is there a specific section I should cut and paste?

IPhoto 11 :: IPhoto Crashes When It Starts Up
I bought iLife 11' the day it came out and everything on it works great, except iPhoto. It was really cool when I first got it. It worked pretty well the first time I opened it. But then after that, It would not open up all the way again. It will get to the grayish screen and then the little spinning color wheel (or Beach ball as I like to call it) will come up and stay there for about a minute until the crash report comes up. I also noticed that each time I tried to start up iPhoto, it would take it longer and longer to finally crash. I don't know if that helps or not. I have already deleted my plist, iPhoto receipts in HD/Library and reinstalled iLife '11. I even ran the highly-suspect Repair Disk Permissions and zapped the PRAM, just for luck. iPhoto still won't start up, and I don't know what to do now.

Here is the crash log:

OS X :: ITunes Crashes On Startup?
I closed down iTunes and opened it back up to discover that it wouldn't open anymore. I tried removing the library file, thinking it might have become corrupted somehow, and iTunes would sort of half-open, but not for long. And then when I'd try to open it up again, it would crash.

At this stage, I could get it to briefly open every time by removing all the library files every time, but then it would recreate them, and when it close/crash (and it would do this every time fairly quickly), it would once again not open at all unless I removed the library files.

OS X Leopard :: Mail Crashes On Computer Startup
When launching mail initially on computer startup in the morning, mail will always crash on startup if another application is starting up as well. i.e. iTunes is an application that is in "login items" in sys pref. So as the computer is booting and these login items are starting up if mail app is selected from the dock to start it always crash. Note: Mail also crashes if it is added to login items. If mail is launched after these login items have completed startup, mail will not crash.

IDVD (iLife 09/11) :: Crashes After Startup Screen
The issue I have is iDVD related: I've installed the app from the iLife 09 dvd on 10.6.1. No problem with the installation. I've done a software upgrade so I've now iDVD 7.0.4. When I launch the app, I've the startup screen and I choose to create a new project. I select the name and validate that. After that nothing opens. If I ask to quit iDVD, the interface appears with the choice for saving project or not, or cancel and the app crashes. I have to force to quit and send the log to Apple. I've tried to repair the authorizations, to delete the plist, to uninstall (with the apple app) and reinstall (from iLife 09 dvd and from the original DVD I received with the MacBook) but the same problem remains. The Quicktime version may be in cause? I only use Quicktime X ... maybe have I to install an older version? My computer is a MacBook white end 2007 with 4 Go RAM. I've 30 Go free space on my hard disk.

OS X :: Network App Crashes On Startup Everytime?
I've searched everywhere for a solution and I've had it before on another Mac, but can't remember how I solved it. Hope someone recalls the solution for this issue. Please don't suggest updating to 10.5, I'm not investing in a copy just for this old PPC G4 1.2Ghz iBook with a dead Firewire port (another famous iBook flaw).

Problem - Every time I launch Network from the Go menu, it momentarily shows (just a flash) the window and immediately crashes and disappears. Repeated efforts to launch does nothing.

I've deleted the appropriate prefs from the Library and still failure.

Intel Mac :: It Crashes Constantly At Startup?
I've had Mac's since my IIsi in '91 and currently the proud owner of MacBook Pro, iPhone and iMac which is just 18 months old.2 days ago I switched the machine off (iMac) and it hasn't been fully back on since. Each time I start it it automatically goes into soft boot mode. As the small bar moves across the screen it stops after about 1 centimetre (.4 of an inch) and simply whines and shuts down. I've tried the old tricks of holding down 'c' and 'd'. On one of the attempts I did reach the desktop and managed to run disk utility which said there were no problems. However, once I rebooted it simply carried on doing the same. I also managed to run Techtool deluxe which comes with the Apple Extended Warranty. Unfortunately it's not fully compatiable with OSX Lion so didn't run properly.

I've not known a Mac to be so knackered before. I have tried the command-R scenario but I don't think reloading Lion OSX is the cure for what appears to be a serious problem. When I shut down the iMac on Thursday I had Acrobat and Photoshop open, also iTunes and Mail. I generally use Facetime these days but on Thursday (I haven't used my Skype account for 18 months) I did install the latest version of Skype as someone required a Skype call with me. The software installed okay and I had the conversation with the person though the camera feature didn't work my end. I do wonder whether installing the Skype software has done something to the iMac. However, I don't see that it would stop it starting up completely!

ITunes :: 10.6.3 On OSX (Lion) Crashes On Startup
Since the last software update my iTunes no longer runs when I click the icon on my dock or in the Applications folder. It crashes after about 10-20 seconds and never displays a window. I've pasted the log below. If I run iTunes from the command line it opens. I get a complaint about a Quartz visualizer plugin not being for the correct architecture, but otherwise it runs totally fine. If I have clicked on the icon that makes iTunes not open before I run it from the command line it does verify/check my library which takes a little while, but otherwise once that is done all is well.

OS X Tiger :: Photoshop Elements 2 Crashes On Startup On OSX 10.4.11?
After doing a clean reinstall of Tiger on my G5, and then updating to 10.4.11, I reloaded Photoshop Elements 2. However, when I click on PE to start it up, it soon indicates an error message (with no specific error type indicated) and will not start up.

Some years ago, I had originally loaded PE 2 on my G5 when it had Panther, and PE worked fine all through OS X updates through OS X 10.4.11.

This time, I loaded PE 2 directly onto OS X 10.4.11. Maybe--because it PE is an old software--it could not cope with installation directly onto 10.4.11, but could cope and work OK from its original installation on 10.3 through all OS updates up through 10.4.11.

Any ideas? PE 2 still works on my bootable backup external hard drive (10.4.11), but I'll eventually need to back up my current internal hard drive contents onto that again.

If I can't get PE 2 to work on my internal hard drive, I'll have to use GIMP (which I've already downloaded) in preference to laying out the bucks for the latest version of PE for Mac.

Anyway.. Ive tried starting up in 32 bit mode, Ive cleaned up my iphoto library. Ive basicly tried everything mentioned in the (many) other threads about this problem, but its still no go.

My iphoto library has 40k photos in it, and Ive managed to import about 10k before I get the beach ball. Ive tried to import using different settings maybe ten times now with the same result. I also tried to let the beach ball spin over night.

Software :: IPhoto 6.0.6 Crashes On Mac OS X 10.4.10
Whenever I try and open iPhoto, a message saying 'the application iPhoto quit unexpectedly'. I have googled this phrase and found a string from a user with similar problem on this forum.

Unfortunately, I tried all the suggestions in this string including multiple reinstallations from the bundled software disc of the software but nothing works. I've tried repairing permissions, deleting the file in preferences. I've deleted and recreated the iphoto folder in Pictures etc. I am using a MacBook Pro which is 6 months old. The only thing that I can think off is that a while back I uninstalled various bundled software packages that came with Mac OS X that I thought I wouldn't need to free up disc space. I can't remember which ones unfortunately however I can't see why this would affect iPhoto if I've reinstalled it and updated it. I don't want to reinstall Mac OS X by the way.
