Does anyone know of a good bulk image downloader for mac ?
Let me be clear about this... I don't need a porn image downloader. I am looking for a downloader that works with celebrity photo forums such as Superior Pics, Celebutopia, etc. These are sites where hi resolution press photos of celebrities are posted for public viewing, collecting, and sharing. These are public forums that link to image storage sites like Imageshack, imageavenue, etc.
the software used by the porn collectors for ripping sites does not work, because the images are stored on a separate server. There are a ton of windows programs that do what I'm looking for, but hardly any for mac.
The software can be a standalone program or a plugin for Safari, Foxfire, et al. I have found some programs but they usually are pay per use, and don't really state whether they would work for what I want. I don't want to nickel and dime myself, buying programs that are not what I want.
By the way... copyright issues are already considered with these sites. I, myself, am a digital media artist, and go out of my way to fully respect the intellectual property rights of others. I am not looking for software that will be used for illegal purposes.
I just happen to have become a collector of celebrity pictures and it is a pain in the butt sometimes to have to download a photoshoot one picture at a time, when someone posts 100 hi-res photos of Marilyn Monroe or Salma Hayek or other hollywood stars that you would like to add to your collection. It is kind of like autograph or comic book collecting, only with no resale value.
I recently put up an e-commerce site and as part of entering products I can input images in 3 sizes.
1. 100 x 80 which is used for photos put on the main page of the website to be clicked on for further information
2. 200 x 250 to be used for the image in the actual product description
3. 300 x 400 to be used as a larger photo as a pop-up picture if someone wants to see a larger picture.
The pictures can vary in size but unless the variation is small the pictures will all very in size on the main page of my website which will give it a bad appearance.
Unfortunately when I get stock photos many vary in size. I want to know if there's an easy way to resize pictures. The only concerns I have is that making them larger may make them appear stretched or making them smaller may give the opposite appearance. Also, since I am doing this to many pictures I want a solution that is quick and easy, maybe as simple as taking a picture, choosing a new size, and saving it with the change.
I currently have the Adobe Creative Suite 3 with PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Fireworks but am not sure if this does it in an easy way and of course I prefer to use Mac over Windows
What's a good image editing program I can use on a G3 that can run under 128mb that isn't GIMP? I need something that's like Photoshop. What is a version of Photoshop that can run under 128mb by the way? What is an alternative? I don't care if it's slow, it just needs to run okay on its own.
RealPlayer downloader pops up and download stuff randomly everytime I visit a page on firefox! How can I disable it? This didn't happen to me when using Windows.
I used to use Media Snap to download YouTube movies or music, but the app doesn't work anymore, and the softwaredeveloper doesn't update it anymore. So what do you use for downloading YouTube movies/music?
Basically what is the best YouTube downloader? I will primarily want to save music and not the videos, but both functionality would be good. Mainly house and dance remixes because the releases are often a long way behind some radio stations.
I know the quality is rubbish etc on the sound but I like listening to music before it is released and have it on the go, I guess by doing this it can tide me over until I can buy official releases.
i just bought The New Imac 21.5 and im a chronic PC user and im a huge DL with newsgroups, and i use newsleecher for PC, and well i was wondering what is the best Newsgroup Downloader for MAC?

Is there an application for Mac where i can copy the link of a youtube and past it in the application and it will convert the video to an mp3 that i can play on itunes? Similar to VDownloader but for Mac
I am a Bible study teacher who has been able to greatly enhance my lessons with YouTube resources. When we studied Paul's travels, I found a video of how the Romans built their roads with video of still usable Roman roads. It made the drier history come to life. That is, it did until YouTube changed their policies last month. I had a program simply called Downloader that worked wonderfully on my iPad to download videos, and then I could AirPlay them out. There now seems to be nothing working for iPad, so I am trying to find an iMac Downloader for YouTube. It doesn't have to be a free one, just a working one.
Alright, I'm starting to get irritated. I used Realplayer Downloader to get the youtube files. I've tried iSquint and Vixy. I even tried ffmpegx knowing it wouldn't work.
This already happened twice. I installed torrent downloader, downloaded a movie then turned off my macpro so I can continue the download the next day. However, every time I start my macpro, I can't find the torrent downloader anymore. Is is being deleted automatically my OS? I tried to search everywhere - apps, docs, downloads etc.
After I buy music from Amazon and the downloader has added the MP3 files to iTunes, it seems that it's also leaving redundant copies of the files in the folder: ~/Music/Amazon MP3. I just found 18 Gig of redundant MP3s in mine!
I can't think of any reason not to delete these, since they're already in iTunes, right? I also see a setting for a download directory in the Downloader's preferences. I'm planning to set it to ~/Downloads and clean it out on a regular basis along with all the other cruft I download.
Info: MacBook Pro (15", 2.53 GHz), Mac OS X (10.5.7), G2 iPhone 3.0
've been using Real Player and the Real Player downloader to download YouTube video clips, and until yesterday all was fine. Yesterday evening however, the downloader decided to stop working and now just sits there doing nothing when I play a YouTube clip. Real Player itself works fine.
I've already trashed and reinstalled Real Player twice but to no avail. The odd thing is every time I've reinstalled it it has remembered the clips I'd been playing before I trashed it.
"More than half a million Macs are infected with the Flashback Trojan, a malware package designed to steal personal information, according to a Russian antivirus company." on Cnet:Â

I went to the Fsecure link and followed some of the steps on terminal. None of the file names came up so it seems like my computer is clean, but how can I be 100% sure? What's a good virus/malware/trojan scan I can run on my computer to be 100% sure?Â
Safari used to let me drag an image from a webpage to the finder and have the dragged file be saved as an actual image but now all that's saved is a webloc file. I want the image saved, not a reference to the image's URL - do I now have to always use "save as" to save it?Â
I can understand Safari creating a webloc file if I dragged the site icon from the location bar to the finder, but to make the default behavior for dragging things that are parts of a page (not the page itself) as webloc files seems like a HUGE step backwards for usability.Â
Does anyone know if there's, say, a key to hold when dragging to avoid saving a webloc file or a defaults command or something to make Safari revert back to sane draging behavior?
One software says I cannot upload an image because the image or the container folder does not have permission. Indeed there is one "unknown" in permissions, that I cannot get to a read write no matter how hard I try -- both on the folder, the desktop, and the file (this is all on my laptop)Â I've done a repair permission.
When a user copies an image from a browser into PowerPoint 2011 he gets text of a link back to the image, not the image itself. But if he copies from a browser into Word he gets the image, and can then copy the image from Word to PowerPoint. Same results with both Firefox and Safari. Behavior is new so I assume it relates to recent software updates but user does not recall accepting any.
I recently right clicked a picture to set it as my desktop picture but didn't have the foresight to save the picture in case I wanted to change it later. I still have the picture up but I cannot find where the picture is stored so I can save it for later. I checked HD/Library/desktop pictures but no luck. Does anyone know where these pictures are saved?
I made an image of my Windows XP laptop drive using Macrium. I can see the image file there on one of my Mac Pro's internal drives, but Im not able to select in Fusion.. Is there a way to make a Fusion VM from this image? If not, how do I go about creating a VM from my laptops's HD? I'm using Fusion 2.6.
The first method is really quick while the second method takes quite a long time. Do the two methods yield the same ISO file? In particular, I would like to convert a bootable CDR disk image to an ISO disk image.
I need a transparent hand print (different colors also) for a project. I've gotten a hand print and used a guide to try and make it transparent using Gimp but I can never export it.
I just need a simple program (I have Paintbrush, Gimp, etc) in order to make things transparent!
