View 7 Replies View RelatedMac Word 2004 for teachers/students was working smoothly for me until the last month. It seemed as though the problem started when I tried to open (by mistake) an excel doc in Word - or vice versa. Now, Word will not let me open a file from the directory. (It will let me select the recently opened docs on the drop-down menu.) When I click "File" and "Open", the screen freezes and eventually pulls up a white screen with lines on it - looks like a writing tablet, which is the edition's logo - and it says "Open" on top.

View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery time I open a document on Microsoft Word for Mac 2008, it crashes. I've had this computer for over a month and the problem just started recently. I'm running Mac OS X Snow Leopard. I was instructed to go to the "Preferences" folder and delete com.Microsoft.Word.plist. When I delete that file, MS Word starts working again for about a couple minutes and then goes back to not working again. How can I fix this? I need to be able to use MS Word for taking notes in college. Should I reinstall it? Should I just switch to iWorks or something?
