View 6 Replies View RelatedCan you connect two external monitors (1 in portrait and 1 in landscape mode) to new MacBook Pro 15 RD or perhaps a new iMac? Currently using two Dell monitors (27 and 24 in) in Landscape and portrait modes respectively. Looking to get rid of the PC and replace with new MBP RD.

I have a PowerMac G5 single processor. I went out to the Apple store and they sold me this new graphics card.(PCI x) They insured me that it would work on my g5 and will work with dual monitors. Well thats not the case today. it didnt fit in my computer and was wondering how would i get a dual monitor on a powermac G5

I have a MacBook Pro 13" purchased in 2009, and I'd like to be able to use it as my main computer, which would mean plugging it into my monitors. I currently have two DVI monitors, of different sizes and resolutions (one 24" running at 1920x1080 and one 19" running at 1440x900). Is there any way to use both of these with my MacBook Pro?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a professional composer. I've just re-done my studio set up and it looks like this,The two thunderbolt displays seem to work perfectly and I've had no complaints with them. I just can't get the TV to be that 4th monitor. I'd like to flick the video I'm working with up to the TV above to give my desktop ample room. I've tried two things so far: (1) a mini display port to HDMI cable, and (2) a mini display port to VGA to HDMI (crazy, I know). Is there any way I can get this to work? Any alternatives? Â

I have a new macbook pro that uses a mini DVI port.
I currently have an apple 30" monitor connected to the macbook pro using that mini dvi port. My wife just bought me a 24" apple monitor which also has a mini dvi connector (male). I need either a mini-DVI splitter to create two female mini DVI inputs at the macbook pro to connect these two monitors or an adapter that has a female mini-DVI on one end and a female DVI on the other. I previously had a 2nd non apple monitor connected using UV plus.

So simply--how do I plug in the 2nd monitor.
I have called apple support and searched google with no success. I fear at this point that this is not possible to do. Does anyone know of a solution?
I would love to be able to drive two external displays with a Mac Book Pro. Is this at all possible using the display port interface?

I have been reading mixed things on different sites about requiring two graphics cards for multiple displays etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a new 2010 MBP and I'd like to hook up two external monitors to it, more specifically, two ASUS VW246H 24-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitors. Either via HDMI or DVI connections. I've found various usb monitor adapters, but i've read that many can't quite 'keep up' and I really can't seem to find a solid solution out there.
So does anyone have a dual monitor setup they currently use, if so, what are you using to connect the mini display port to both external monitors.
I have two monitors with VGA. At the moment i have 1 connected from mini -DVI to VGA. Is there a lead that i can buy that goes from mini-DVI to dual VGA or do i have to buy a Matrox's DualHead2Go? I just want a cheap lead if there is one
I have read over and over how many users have sleeping issue problems. The way I look at it is just leave your computer on. Mine runs 24 hrs. a day 365 days a year. I never put it to sleep. Yes you well save a little hydro but your problems will go away. When I am not sitting at the computer I turn off the monitor. I have done this for the last 10 years on the PC and since Feb.14 on my new MacPro without any issues. So in my opinion, leave your Macs on and turn off your monitors when not in use.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm just wondering what the cheapest way to go about this is. Currently my graphics card is the 8800, but I think I've read that you don't have to have the same graphics card to add more monitors (the ATI base graphics card will do just fine). So do I just need to purchase one from apple or am I able to get one cheaper from anywhere else? Also all of the supported graphics cards output 1920X1080 right? And on a side not - this output will be going to my television - is there any way to make front row default to the television output?
View 5 Replies View Relatedcouldn't find an answer so far: Is it possible to run 2x 8800GT (Apple or flashed PC) in one Mac Pro 2008? I know, SLI doesn't work but I am curious if I can run 2 monitors (e.g. for FSX in Bootcamp). Did anyone try this or is this outside the Power-limits of the PCI bus?

Every couple of days, after my screensaver has been running for a few minutes... both of my monitors will shut off. Then no matter what I do, they won't turn back on again. The only way to get them working again is to do a forced restart.

I have been having a hard time getting the colors and whites to look exactly the same. I have tried calibrating the display over and over but the whites never look exactly the same even though the default white points are the same for both the macbook pro/hp displays. Any hints outside of getting a sensor/external program?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use my MBP 09 unibody closed and attached to a large monitor 90% of the time. I'm finally changing up my entire setup because the HD TV screen I have been using to do work is hurting my eyes. I'm tryin to have a baller setup but it seems unlikely this is possible...
If I buy 2 LCD monitors (two LED apples are too expensive for me right now), can I get them both rigged up to my closed MBP, mirrored but at the same time duel separate function display? There must be some kind of adapter that allows you to run that.
Ideally I would have my left over HDTV on another desk to the left of the duel monitors as a 3rd one that I could use as a preview monitor for video and design. and/or just use it as a 3rd desktop space where I could say, show a client or friend a sample of finished work full screen, or put on a movie or run Itunes visualizer and music, all while I am using the main duel LCD computer displays to do work.
I work on a mac but occasionally I have to work on a PC. Can I connect my PC to my mac so I don't have to use 2 different monitors?

I'm using a 22" LCD right now, and just received a 24" Dell as a gift..
Is there any way to use these two monitors? I'd want to use their native resolutions as well.
I know you can get the DVI external dongle but I am wondering if you could hook up two external monitors to the MBA. If anyone has tried this please post with pictures or video.
View 2 Replies View RelatedTrying to pick internal HD's for a new Mac Pro. Do the SATA 600's give me anything over the SATA 300's. Probably going to set-up an internal software RAID of two or three, till I can afford a decent external RAID. Does the internal data transfer speed max out at some level that buying a SATA 600 drive would be a waste? Also, I have two existing 20" Apple LCD Monitors, probably 5 years old that i need to use. Is the appropriate adapter simply the MDP to DVI connector? They're currently connected to a G5.
