Snow Leopard :: All Attachments Showed Up As Missing Plugin?

Today I opened mail.app and all my attachments showed up as "missing plug-in" -- If I add a new attachment to an email, the attachment in the message body shows up at "missing plug-in" -- It's all a bit odd. I've done the usual stuff, permissions, etc.. I even took the mail.app package off another mac and put it on this one, still nothing.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mail 5.2 Won't Show Word Attachments Says Missing Plugin
Since I upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard, Mail has had glitches. I fixed one; the other remains: I can't see Word attachments in emails. The only hint is the message "Missing Plug-in". If I show the entire header, Mail provides buttons to Quickview the document or save it.The previous problem was that Mail wouldn't start up (kept quitting while doing the initial database migration) because I'd left in MailActOn as a plugin. So I removed plugins and the contents of ~/Library/Mail/Bundles. Now Mail works except for this.

Snow Leopard :: Attachments Missing In Mail.app / Get Them Back?
I have noticed the following problem with an imap account:

I am looking at a message that has an attachment but the attachment is not shown in mail.app. In its place there is a generic graphic with a question mark. I right-click, choose "Download Image" but nothing happens. When I log onto may email account using a web browser and check the same message, the attachment is there (a bmp graphic, in this particular case). This doesn't happen with all messages that have attachments but I've noticed it at least twice in the past couple weeks (and perhaps more often, but I generally ignore attachments).

Snow Leopard :: Mail 4.x (IMAP) Messages Truncated And Attachments Missing
I support users that have been having problems with Mac Mail 4.x. A problem we've been having is that for some users, email messages seem to be truncated intermittently. This doesn't happen only with the message body, but in the headers also. This can result in messages/attachments not being displayed correctly since parts of the headers are removed preventing the app from rendering/recognizing them fully (basically, critical parts of the headers are missing).

When checking directly on the server (webmail) or via other clients (Outlook, Thunderbird), the messages/headers are fully intact. Rebuilding the mailbox seems to temporarily resolve the problem, however it comes back within days or even hours. I have found several threads that sound like they could be related, however I can't say for sure and have found no solutions. [URLs]. My feeling is that this is a mail.app problem since this affects users that are connecting to both our internal Exchange 2007 environment (SP1 rollup 9) and a hosted Gmail domain.

OS X Leopard :: Attachments Missing When Archiving Mailbox?
I tried archiving a few mailboxes and it seemed to work fine. But when I imported them back in to Mail to make sure it worked properly, not all, but several of the messages were missing their attachments. When looking at the imported mailbox, the email showed it had attachments and how many, but when you opened up the mail message, there were no attachments. I verified that the original mail messages in the original mailboxes had attachments and they did. This happened on both mailboxes I archived and imported back to Mail.

The strangest thing, but it's been recurring over the past few months. Emails that I receive, which should have an attachment with them, do not have any attachments when I open them. This occurs when I send emails to myself from home to work or from colleagues. It doesn't occur all the time but often enough for me to complain about by writing on the forum. Mac Safari :: Flash Player Does Not Work - Missing Plugin
My setup is:

Flash does not work in Safari but Flash works in Firefox with my main Admin user account. Every time I go to a site it either says "missing plugin" or "please update to the latest version of flash" or something along those lines. I created a new login with Admin rights and Flash DOES work in that account with Safari but of course who wants to migrate to another user account? Tried Uninstalling Flash, Reinstalling Flash, Repairing Permissions, Restarting. Even tried uninstalling safari & reinstalling and doing the above several times to no avail.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Some Pdf Attachments Missing In Mail 5.2
I fail to receive pdf attachments intermittently using Mail 5.2 running OS X 10.7.3 (Lion). When the attachments do not arrive, I see no paperclip in the attachments column. On a recent occasion, a colleague sent me three consecutive emails, each with 1-2 pdf files attached. The middle one (containing one pdf), shows no attachment in Mail. However, I know the attachment is there, because if I open it on my iPhone, I see the attachment. What's more, if I forward the email to myself from the iPhone, I can now see the attachment again. This has happened several times in the past as well.

Snow Leopard :: Send File To Plugin
I am an ex Windoze PC based person who is accustomed to a context menu item that is a "Send File to" style of thing that will allow one to select a file or group of files from the a files and folders list (i.e. selected in Finder in MAC the world) and then send them as attachments to a mail item. It would normally open a new message with the attachments included and you get to add the subject, email addy and any additional comments before sending. Now OSX doesn't seem to have this feature or if it does I can't find it.

So frustrating as I used to use it a lot in my old Windoze environment for knocking up quick files email sends. Now I have to create the email then find and attached or drag and drop the files. I like the other option better for some activities. Since using my MAC I am always wishing the feature was present in OSX

Is there anything that I can use in the MAC OSX world for this..

I love my MAC and OSX don't get me wrong and generally it is hard to beat but just seems occasionally that there are some features that Wndoze has that are simply more logical or more productive to my working style.

OS X Leopard :: Text Files Suddenly Showed Up In Preferences Folder?

np_334572current
np_334572services
np_334572servicesnew
np_334572sets

Snow Leopard :: Attachments Not Showing Up In Mail
Do anyone have a usable solution for getting attachments to show up correctly in Mail? Every time I receive emails with an Excel or .csv, or for that matter .psd, .pdf or .doc files in them, the attachments never show up in the message body field or listed among the attachments. To give you an example: My list view of emails show the email with the paper clip icon and "4 items", but only 3 items are visible from both the preview window and when I open the email.

I know there is a work around by selecting File > Save attachments, but come on that is not really a viable solution in an office setting when I receive 100-200 html emails with attachments, logos and other stuff on a daily basis. How can you be expected to be taken seriously as a productivity tool when something as simple as receiving attachments doesn't work. I feel like an idiot having purchased a MacBook Pro but still have to use Entourage because the most basic stuff isn't working as intended!

Snow Leopard :: How To Display Size Of Emails With Attachments Before Sending
How to display the size of an email as you are composing it, when you add an attachment. Sometimes we get a little size status message at the bottom of the window and sometimes we don’t. The attachment size displays in brackets after the file name which is fine, except that quite often the final email size is larger than the attachment, for example an email with a 3Mb attachment might create an email with a final size of 4Mb.

We are often sending all sorts of attachments, JPEGs TIFFs, PDFs, Quark Docs, Word Docs, etc of varying sizes, and its always useful to know the size of whats being sent.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Why Does Mail Change The Size Of Attachments
I have been trying to send som JPEG files to a client.  These files are no more than 450 kb.  They were made in Adobe Illustrator CS5.  The file sizes on my Mac are below 450 kb, yet when I attach them to an e-mail the size plummets to 31.3 kb, making them totally unusable for my client.  I do not see any setting in Mail that would affect the file size of an attachment.  I've attached files before with no problem.  I do not know if this is because it's a JPEG.  Unfortunately JPEG is the file format that they need.  So to get arounfd this I've uploaded them to my server... but it would be so much easier to just be able to attach them to an e-mail.
