I put off doing the software update on Safari... I just HAD a feeling something would go wrong and I didn't have time to mess with it if it did.
So today I ran and update. And it messed up.
Now Safari will "open"... it looks like it is open and I have access to all the menus. But a Safari window will not open.
I am surprised that I haven't seen others with this problem. I have tried deleting the cache and deleting the preferences file. Neither seem to have made ANY difference.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. And I am feeling like I'm missing a body part. I need my Safari back!

Images always print cut-off or otherwise unformatted when I print from safari. I have to save the image, open with preview, and print. Can I somehow make safari use preview to open images? No menu options I can see.Â

I know this has been asked and answered so many time that I am sorry to post again. However, I have read many of the prior posts, tired the fixes, and still the problem persists. All of a sudden, without any erxplanation I know of, PDF links do not open within Safari, as in the past, but instead revert to the Downloads and open in Preview.
MacBook Pro OS: 10.6.8
Safari: 5.1.7
I have two other accounts set up and they both open PDF links within Safari.I have downloaded Adobe Reader again, checked my plugins. I can’t locate any Adobe plugins on either my home account or hard drive, restarted, etc.If possible, can someone try and offer assistance. It's one of those things which is bugging me and have been struggling with for the past three hours

I cannot open PDF files through Safari. I've read some of the other comments on the same/similar issue and I have tried those steps and have been unsuccessful. I still cannot view PDF files through Safari, in fact, the Preview doesn't even open. When it worked the preview icon would pop up in the tool bar at the bottom of my Mac Book, but it no longer does that. Here is what I've tried; Upgrading my Adobe, even though I know you don't need it for Mac. Removed Adobe from applications and deleted.  Went to Library and internet plug ins and there is nothing in that folder.  Went to internet preferences and un clicked enable plug ins. i was browsing the net today and a please restart your computer message popped up. i assumed it was because of my coolbook voltages being to low so i restarted it and bumped the settings up. but when i tried using safari again it would not open. a blank page would apprear and that multicolored wheel just keeps spinning. i force quit and try opening it again. same thing. any ideas what i can do before i uninstall my coolbook and take it to the apple store.

Most programs in OS X stay open when you close them (when you click the red X button) unless you specifically close them from the dock. I think Safari 3 used to have this functionality but now when I close Safari, it "quits" as in all my open tabs are closed. However Safari stays open.

I have a Windows Desktop PC, Windows Laptop and an iMac plus Macbook Pro, on the desktop pc Safari will not open [URL], yet on my Windows Laptop it will! Both are the same version of Safari, I have uninstalled and re installed Safari with no joy.
Does anyone know how to do a clean uninstall of Safari on Windows, because I think that may solve it.

If I quit Safari with a single or multiple pages open, the next time I open Safari all the pages come back, the pages that were open when I quit the application.Even though in preferences I have a homepage selected it doesn't seem to matter.

I am not able to open the Safari from the bar at the bottom, I get a message saying that Safari quit unexpectedly & it instructs me to Reopen but when I click on the button the same message appears. I have also been unable to open PDF documents & wonder if this is related to downloading the Lion OS?

I recently updated to Lion. So far the only thing that really annoys me is that every time I open Safari it opens to the last page(s) I visited. I want it to open to a blank page. For the life of me - I cannot figure out how to get it to do this.

Read this link posted here: [url]...
Both my sister and I share the same network name and I tried entering the URL with numbers and it still does not work. It's been like this for a week.
