Power Mac G5 :: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 Card Compatible With OpenGL 2.0?

Is my GeForce 6600 card compatible with openGL 2.0?

I have some software that tells me it is not and I've just spent lots of money buying it - I did make a quick check on-line before making my software purchase and found out that the whole 6000 series was compatible.

Power Mac G5 :: Vertical Lines On Dual Display After Boot Up With NVIDIA GeForce 6600?
I have just upgraded my G5 Quad from OS 10.4 to OS 10.5. Now, whenever I boot up the dual display is split into vertical stripes. I can fix it for that session by unplugging one monitor and plugging it back in again. If I boot up from the 10.5 install disc - same problem. If I boot up from the 10.4 install disc - works fine. The display does not go into vertical segments during the grey start up period, but only when the desktop appears.

Mac Pro :: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT Video Card Compatible With 2009?
I just got a new (early 2009) Mac Pro and tried to add in an NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256MB video card from an older Mac Pro. I could not get my displays to work through this older card. The System Profiler saw the installed card, but only recognized the manufacturer (NVIDIA) and not any model info on the card. The specs say that PCI express 2.0 slots should be backwords compatible with PCI express 1.0.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

MacBook Pro :: NVIDIA GeForce 9400/NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT Laptop Showing Both Cards?
I have found an odd thing when I was looking at my system profiler. After going to Graphics and Display I have found that there are two cards showing NVIDIA GeForce 9400 (Type: GPU, BUS: PCI) and NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT (Type: GPU, BUS: PCIe).

My issue is that it seems that NVIDIA GeForce 9400 is shown to be connected to the laptop display where as NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT is not connected to anything. Obviously I would like to use my laptop graphics card to its fullest potential, and I think I should be using NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT.

I have a hunch at what might have caused the problem, when I upgraded to this laptop from the previous one I used migrated assistant so I am unsure if it transferred my old graphics grad settings instead of what this new laptop comes with.

Intel Mac :: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS Graphics Card Bad?
My 24" iMac has been exibiting strange behavior lately...  It appears to be if a graphical nature where the screen will randomly flicker or go blank in a variety of colors (black or white or yellow or red or blue).  Sometimes a preceeding indicator that this is going to occur is that the system becomes on responsive or extremely delayed, text and other graphics appear garbled/corrupted/scrambled.

I've used Mac Hardware Test, Disk Utility, TechTool Pro 6, anti virus software - even took it to a local authorized Mac repair shop (not Apple Store) and the results are the same - Everything LOOKS fine with no problems reported.  I've reinstalled the OS and even gone as far as completely wiping the drive and starting from scratch, just incase it is/was some kind of odd software conflict.  Yet, the problem persists and the Console always captures something like this just before another epic fail:

4/13/12 5:55:50.000 PM kernel: NVDA(OpenGL): Channel exception! exception type = 0x8 = Fifo: Watchdog Timeout Error

Power Mac G5 ::wants To Know About NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
I have a PowerMac G5 Early 2005 with an ATI X800 XT, my card was working fine until I switch to Leopard OS X 10.5, as you all know the issue with this card has not been solve by ATI/AMD, what make me look for another alternative. I want to try an nvidia card since I'm not happy with ATI support or solving issues with their products. I'm interested on the new NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT but I don't know if this card will work with my Mac.

MacBook Pro :: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M Graphics Versus NVIDIA GeForce 9400M?
I am going to college this year to study Graphic Design and i am looking to purchase a MBP 15". I have read a couple of other threads which cover similar questions however i am not truly satisfied with the answers i have read.

My MBP will have to run the following programs on a regular basis: Photoshop, Bridge, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash. It will also have to run basic tasks such as word processing, internet surfing and email. Finally i would also like to install parallels and XP on the machine just in case an work or applications need to be run on windows. Obviously all of these applications will not be running simultaneously however there is a strong chance 2 or 3 maybe running at the same time. My Imac deals with this without problems, will the MBP be the same?

MacBook Pro :: Nvidia GeForce 8600M Graphics Card Causing Memory Leak
I have a year old MacBook Pro with an Nvidea GeForce 8600M GT card.

I recently bought Unity but it turns out the Nvidea GeForce 8600M GT graphics card isn't fully supported because of a memory leak which is a problem with the drivers.
Unity Support have told me to update my drivers. I understood Mac drivers were always built in to the OS and no drivers were available from Nvidea but I see they now have one Mac driver for another card.

What is the actual state of affairs with this graphics card does anyone know? There have been a lot of reports of faulty ones and now this.

This is a just about year old top of the range MacBook Pro and it doesn't support graphics??

MacBook Pro :: Finding A Nvidea GeForce 6600 For Quad G5
I have recently acquired a Quad 2.5GHz PPC G5. When I bought it, it came installed with a NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 graphics card, which works just fine. Heard these cards are very good for 3D rendering, etc...

However... As I am an audio engineer, I don't need a flashy graphics card... Instead I need "flashy" sound cards...

I have two PCIe UAD-2 Quad cards for all my UAD plugin needs within Logic Pro... And I have PCIe Symphony X card for my Apogee (AD16X & DA16X) front end sound conversion. All which sound and work very well... So far so good!

My Quad PPC has 4 PCIe slots, which should be fine for my arrangement i.e. one slot for graphics card, one for PCIe Symphony card, two for UAD-2 Quad cards... BUT the damnable NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 takes up two PCIe slots!

Power Mac :: Compatible Video Card For G5?
so apparently my G5 needs a video card. I was not booting and wouldn't shut down. I reinstalled tiger but no difference. it will boot in safemode but I get lines across the display. they are in "groups of three" small squiggly lines.

Apple store says they think its video card but they will not support it because its "vintage"... I guess "computer years" are similar to dog years the card it came with is GeForce 6800 Ultra with 256mb ram. OWC has a Radeon 5770 with 1G of ram for 270.00 but this card is not compatible with my machine. it says it needs 10.6 or later... but I cannot upgrade the OS cuz leopard requires Intel processor.

so my question is, if a 1G card is 270.00... one that is compatible with my machine should be less I would think? also, even If I could find a compatible 1G card, I think it would be like having a Ferrari and only using 1st gear you know? cuz I would be bottle necked at the processors.. I would think? so what is compatible with the G5 but more ram than the current 256mb?

I am fairly new to macs and I am having a problem, my Mac Pro keeps restarting. I had a quadro FX 4800 video card on it, but it apperently was useless for gaming ( had problems with all the games i tried), so i swapped it for a NVIDIA GeForce GT 120. I was instructed that once the card was put in i would just have to start up the Mac and download the drivers. But every time i try to start up it just keeps teling me over and over the mac has to restart. Is there some way to fix this? Would having the Mac dual booted with Windows vista ultimate be a contributing fact to this problem, as that starts up but the display is weird and the graphics card doesnt seem to be registered on the system.

Mac Pro :: NVIDIA GeForce 285 GTX Kernal Panic
I have AppleCare and use their TechTool Deluxe DVD and DISKWARRIOR for remedial type stuff and preventative maintenance. After I purchased my Mac Pro, I swapped out the GT 120 for a GeForce 285 GTX, buying the new GPU directly from Apple. The GTX installed fine and works wonderfully. But from that time on, I could not use the TechTool Deluxe DVD or the DISKWARRIOR disk to start up my computer.

I got Kernal Panic every single time using either disk at startup, but no KPs ever for any other reason.
Found out from Marc at DISKWARRIOR that Alsoft hasn't included the GeForce 285 GTX drivers on their disk (which they will do in the future).
