Pages 09 :: How To Change Individual Page Orientation
I'm using Pages 09 and Numbers 09 for a university project. In my write up I want to insert a table made in Numbers but the table would be best viewed horizontally. When I change the page orientation from the page setup it changes all the pages in the document so I was wondering if anyone knew how to change an individual pages orientation?

I can't seem to be able to change the page orientation of a few pages, in iWorks Pages. To clarify - i need the orientation of only 3 pages in the whole document, changing from portrait to landscape. It can be done on MS, so i thought it might be possible on Pages, but i can't seem to figure out how, or find anywhere which tells me how.

Pages 09 :: How To Mix Page Orientation In The One Word Processing Document
I'm working on a report which has the usual portrait pages of text but also I have some tables which need to be in landscape. In word, I can set a new section break and tell it go landscape from that point forward. When I try to do this in pages, the whole document changes to landscape, which is not what I want. I'm probably not doing something basic (I hope).

I am using a predefined template. tell its possible to do this (he cries plaintively).

Mac Pro :: 3rd Screen - Portrait Orientation To Display Printed Pages?
I've got two 20.1" normal aspect monitors right now (Dell 2001FPs), both being driven by the GT120 in my Nehalem Mac Pro. I want to buy a third screen that I can put in portrait orientation to better display printed pages.

1) 24" widescreen aspect.
2) Ability to stand in a portrait orientation (tall, not wide) with the default stand.
3) Ideally a Dell model, since my other two screens are Dells (this would be nice, but is not essential).
4) Hopefully somewhat cheap (~$300).

I see plenty of 24" models on the Dell site, but it is not clear to me which ones can be mounted portrait on the provided stand. I don't care about the screen being able to pivot; I intend to mount it portrait and leave it there.

Pages 09 :: Add To Multi Page Document Without Rippling Past Specific Page?

This will then enable me to print off just the amended page knowing that all other pages have stayed the same.
Hope I explained this alright.

Pages 09 :: Document Page Holds More Text Than Word Export Page?
I'm aware of some of the formatting issues that occur when exporting a Pages document to Word. However, shouldn't a simple page of text come out the same?

I have a Pages document that contains 225 words that fits perfectly on a single page with standard 1" margins. When I export this to Word format, the corresponding Word document - with the same margins, page size, font and type size - places the last two lines of text on a second page. This makes it very difficult to use Pages for anything at all that must be converted to Word for distribution.

Any ideas on how to work around this? I've posted the two samples here...

Pages 09 :: Thick Line In The Page Margin When I Use Auto Page Number?
I am having a problem with an automatic line which appears in the left, in the page margin, outside the footer whenever I insert auto page numbering into a booklet. This line looks like a thick "l" and is on the left of each page despite the numbers being on the 'outside' (alternate sides) of each page.

The line only disappears when the numbers are removed. I cannot highlight/edit the line and they show up as short thick marks, the height of the font on each numbered page when the document is printed.

Could someone tell me how to:

2. Create a large, interesting first letter of first paragraphs (drop cap?). Must be larger type size and I'd like the words to wrap around it.

Pages 09 :: Pages Changing Case - Keyboard Shortcut?
I am looking to move from Word to Pages and as I write a lot I use keyboard shortcuts to use the workload.

One shortcut is to change text from uppercase to lowercase, first letter cap etc and and I can see Pages has a menu setup for this ie Format>Font>Capitalization - which offers None/All Caps/Small Caps/Title.

My quick question - is there a keyboard shortcut for this process?

I have checked through these forums and found reference to WordService from Devon but can't see how to make this work.

Pages 09 :: Why Do Page Numbers In Word Remain After Import Into Pages
I imported an old document created in Word (Office 2004 for Mac) into Pages. (I did lots of edits in the new Pages document and don't want to sacrifice all that work). Then I realized that I couldn't delete the page numbers I'd inserted into the original Word document. They were "stuck" in the new Pages document, and I couldn't get rid of them. I want to use the more elegant page numbering in the footer in Pages, and I can't seem to delete the page numbers that came in with the original Word document.

Pages 09 :: Insert Blank Page Into Pages Document
I want to add a blank page into my guide (in Pages '09) and to do that, I understand you need to select the page (in the sidebar) that you want to add the page after, and then use the 'Choose sections to add to this document' to add a blank one. Only thing is though, when I select an individual page, all the others get selected as well with a yellow border. Adding a page then puts it at the bottom.

How can I add the blank page??? I don't want to mess all my formatting up.

Pages 09 :: Removing Blank Page From Section In Pages
Creating a book using pages, each chapter is a section. So far, so good. Suddenly a blank page appears within a section and is "dead", i.e. does not respond to any command, shows no layout pattern, acts as if it is not a part of anything. The other pages in the section are normal and respond as expected. Apparently I could remove it, but only as part of the entire section, as I can't create a section break to isolate it from the following pages. And I'd prefer not to remove (delete) the entire chapter. How can I isolate and remove this blank, non-responding page?
