Pages 09 :: Inserting Page Numbering In Table Of Authorities With Dot Leader?

I have to manually create a table of authorities (not a table of contents, I know that can be done automatically). How can I type in a page number and have it go to the right hand margin with a dot leader?

Pages 09 :: Skip Numbering For The Cover And Table Of Contents And Start At The Next Page
It's easy to number the pages in the header or footer by going up to insert and choosing it. But a bit more tricky I can't figure out how to skip numbering for the cover and table of contents and start at the next page. 2nd tab of inspector, if I select 2nd choice, section, I should be able to figure out how to end up with the 3rd page as #1. I'm just missing something and not getting it?

Pages 09 :: Simple Table Of Authorities?
When my legal briefs are longer than 10 pages, I am required to provide a table of authorities that lists the cases and statutes that I cited throughout the brief and list which pages the citations can be found. MS Word allows you to mark citations and will automatically generate a simple table of authorities.

Pages 09 :: List Numbering Without The Dot After The Number
I'm new on Pages. I'm testing it to decide if I change MS word by it (I'm using a trial version of Pages for 30 days, if I like it, I'll buy it).

However, I tried to do a very simple thing and I simply couldn't. I want to create an automatic number list without the dot after the number. Isn't it possible? I simply didn't find where to configure it. The only possibilities are the ones that appear in the list? Can't I configure it the way I want it? Moreover, in the second level, I also want to put it without the dot after the second number.

This is what I want to do (for example):

1 Introduction
1.1 Objectives
1.2 Structure of the document
2 Development
2.1 bla
2.2 bla
2.2.1 bla bla
2.2.2 bla bla bla
2.3 bla
3 Conclusions

This is what I could do:

1. Introduction
1.1. Objectives
1.2. Structure of the document
2. Development
2.1. bla
2.2. bla
2.2.1. bla bla
2.2.2. bla bla bla
2.3. bla
3. Conclusions

I don't want these dots after the last number.

I already saw somebody answering a similar question to the user to not use automatic list. But my document has a lot of sections and subsections (it shall have around 150 pages). If I do the numbers manually and I need to insert a new section between sections 2 and 3 (for example). I'd have to change all the numbers after that with a lot of subsections. It'd be very hard.

Pages 09 :: Restart Numbering In Table Of Contents
I have a Pages document with two main parts. The numbering is set to start over at the beginning of the second part. So the document looks like:

Part one...
I. Title
II. Title
Part two
I. Title
II. Title

When I create a table of content it doesn't take into account the actual numbering and the TOC looks like:

Part one...
I. Title
II. Title
Part two
III. Title
IV. Title

Any way to edit the TOC to manually change the numbers?

Every time I try to insert a table, it covers over the entire roll of cells and I can't resize it to have it where I want it. Is it possible that I can make it look like PDF file. When you open a pdf file on the right part for example it says chapter 15 and when you click it it opens chapter 15. Our instructor told us today that if you use table of contents you can do this. So, when you are writing long reports if you add a table or kind of thing to one part of your report nothing shifts.

2. Create a large, interesting first letter of first paragraphs (drop cap?). Must be larger type size and I'd like the words to wrap around it.

Applications :: Using IWork 08 Pages Page Numbering?
I am trying to use multiple page numbering formats in iWork Pages 08 but I cannot figure out how to do this, or if it is at all possible. I am placing my page numbers in the footer but I am requiring a rather complex system. I am writing my university thesis paper, and this makes page numbering a headache. First off, my Cover page and Abstract page cannot have page numbers on them, then the Table of Contents and Preface must use the Roman numberal page numbering Format. Finally, when I reach the Introduction down to the reference pages, those will require the Arabic page numbering format. Is it at all possible to have these mulitple page numbering Schemes present in a single document? Or am I forced to write every section as a separate document (which completely renders the Table of Contents application useless). Please help becuase I have tried everything I can think of and I do not know why this feature is unavailable. furthermore, the steps for ensuring your coverpage is without a number is just rediculously long.

Pages 09 :: Reverse Page Numbering - Using Reverse Page Order
1st question: Is there a way to reverse the numbering of pages in a Pages document? For instance, in a 20 page document, is there a way to make the last page be numbered as "page 1" and the first page be numbered "page 20"?

2nd question: is there any way to "flip" the page order of a Pages document? By that, I mean making the last page the actual first page and vice versa, along with a corresponding re-ordering of all the pages therein.

I looked through the Pages manual but found nothing on either topic. I also tried searching the Apple discussion forums here, but found nothing there either.

Side rant: The forum search function is pretty crude. My various searches for "page number" or "page numbering" kept giving results as though I was actually searching for "Pages" and "Numbers." And no matter how what search terms I used, with or without single or double quotes, I kept getting the exact same citations. Curse you, Apple, for giving your applications such generic names.

Pages 09 :: Can A Table Cell Span More Than One Page
I'm working with tables in Pages to create a list of literature and important takeaways from each article. Sometimes the important information is more than I can fit on one page. However, Pages doesn't seem to be able to handle splitting cells across multiple pages. Instead, it seems to "push" the overflow text beyond the page, so I can't even see it as I'm typing.

In Word, such situations just cause the table cell to continue on to the next page. But I can't figure out how to do that in Pages. (And I'm a little concerned that there's not a way to handle this.)

Pages 09 :: Table Of Contents Will Not Show Page Numbers?
I have a 1000+ page document which has a TOC which is broken upon installing Snow Leopard. There were no issues with it prior SL, anyway. The TOC is built correctly, according to Help and the Manual. What I get is a list of items for the TOC, but no page numbers. The page numbers should be checked to act as links. The odd thing is that when I highlight the TOC the place for the page numbers gets selected. So clearly there is something where the numbers should be, but it is not visible, nor is it clickable. Copying and pasting the TOC to TextEdit also shows the same thing--something's there, just not a page number.

Pages 09 :: Table Cells / Rows Longer Than A Page?
I know about this issue. It's since my first touch with iWork '08, when I opened a TV scenario written in MS WORD, separated into two columns.
When a column is longer than a page, the rest of the text is just hidden, won't continue on next page.

But I'm curious, if there's a wishlist for Apple improvements of the Pages App.

I like it very much. I don't want to use MS Office or even Neo/Open Office. I'm very much in the Apple-style of thinking and the concept of Pages suits me very well. I have also very good experiences with exchanging documents between Pages and MS Word on PCs. Even with some complicated formatting or changes-tracking function.

But this issue I simply don't understand the idea why the text gets hidden.

Anyone's got a clue or at least a hint, where should I post my wish of getting this to work?

Snow Leopard :: Inserting Table Into Apple Mail Message
I did a search and found a few threads from 2007 saying there's no way to insert a table into an Apple Mail message. I need to create a meeting agenda template that includes a four column table visible in the body of the message. There doesn't seem to be an "insert table" option. I'm a huge proponent for plain text email (my default for new emails). However, we have a client asking for this. I suggested attaching a spreadsheet into the email but that idea got shot down.

Apparently because Microsoft Outlook allows you to do it. I was able to copy/paste a table from an email sent to me by a Microsoft Outlook user and it came in fine. You can even delete content on any of the cells...but you can't add or edit the content. Essentially, we want to create a template with blank cells, so when it's time to create/send the weekly meeting agenda, we can do so jumping off the template.
