Pages 09 :: How To Mix Page Orientation In The One Word Processing Document
I'm working on a report which has the usual portrait pages of text but also I have some tables which need to be in landscape. In word, I can set a new section break and tell it go landscape from that point forward. When I try to do this in pages, the whole document changes to landscape, which is not what I want. I'm probably not doing something basic (I hope).
I am using a predefined template. tell its possible to do this (he cries plaintively).

Pages 09 :: Unable To Create Word Processing Document?
I've just downloaded the trial version of Pages '09, and I was intending to buy a serial for it. However, when I attempt to create a word processing document (blank or from a template) the loading wheel thing (don't know the technical term?!) spins around and around to no avail. Bizarrely, though, I am able to create a page layout document. I have tried re-installing, but it makes no difference. Information: Macbook Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Pages 09 :: Is It Possible To Change A Document From Layout To Word Processing
I just downloaded and launched the Pages 4.0.4 update, which adds the option of exporting to ePub. Unfortunately Pages won't export a Page Layout document to ePub. Is there any way to change the type of document or would it be easier to just create a new document and paste everything from one to the other. Pages 09 :: Document Page Holds More Text Than Word Export Page?
I'm aware of some of the formatting issues that occur when exporting a Pages document to Word. However, shouldn't a simple page of text come out the same? I have a Pages document that contains 225 words that fits perfectly on a single page with standard 1" margins. When I export this to Word format, the corresponding Word document - with the same margins, page size, font and type size - places the last two lines of text on a second page. This makes it very difficult to use Pages for anything at all that must be converted to Word for distribution. Any ideas on how to work around this? I've posted the two samples here... I'm using Pages 09 and Numbers 09 for a university project. In my write up I want to insert a table made in Numbers but the table would be best viewed horizontally. When I change the page orientation from the page setup it changes all the pages in the document so I was wondering if anyone knew how to change an individual pages orientation? I can't seem to be able to change the page orientation of a few pages, in iWorks Pages. To clarify - i need the orientation of only 3 pages in the whole document, changing from portrait to landscape. It can be done on MS, so i thought it might be possible on Pages, but i can't seem to figure out how, or find anywhere which tells me how.

Pages 09 :: Any Apple Word Processing Software That Do Comments?
In a few days I'll be receiving my first iMac, after being PC all my life. While I know that I can either BootCamp or virtualize to run my Windows software, I'm hoping to find an Apple word processing application that does comments like MS Word does. Does, for instance, Office Word for Mac have this capability? I'm specifically interested in being able to do "balloon" comments that show up in the right margin of a document. Information: iMac

Pages 09 :: Combining Word Processing And Layout Templates?
I'm trying to combine some of my separate class notes for my students into one file, and some were created in Page Layout, with visuals, charts, pics, etc. I also have some Word Document notes that I'd like to merge with the other notes to create one "class notes" file for my students. But I can't seem to do that, for some reason. I can copy individual pages from the Page Layout notes and paste them into my Word Document notes, but they paste as two pages (one page is blank). When I delete that page, the other one is deleted, too. I can't copy and paste from the other direction (word doc to page layout) at all, and like I said, the other way is a little off, as well. Pages 09 :: TOC And Word Processing Mode File

Can you color a background in the word processing layout of pages without creating a text box or shape? If not, if you have text on the page that is not within a text box, how can you bring that to the front of that colored shape so that you can see it? Pages 09 :: Hangs On Attempt To Load Word Processing Templates
Why Pages should hang whenever I try to load most word processing templates. Blank, Outlines and Miscellaneous all load fine, as do all the page layout templates. Pages 09 :: Missing Font When Converting A Document From Word To Pages
The problem is that upon opening the file again i get a message saying 'Missing Font - Calibri' and there would appear to be no means of disabling this warning or of curing the cause of it. Pages 09 :: Insert Blank Page Into Pages Document
I want to add a blank page into my guide (in Pages '09) and to do that, I understand you need to select the page (in the sidebar) that you want to add the page after, and then use the 'Choose sections to add to this document' to add a blank one. Pages 09 :: How To Save As Word Document
I just downloaded Pages and I'm some college stuff so I can put it on a USB stick and print it off at college, as you will probably know my college doesn't have Macs so I need to save it as a word document. So what I did was click 'File', 'Save as' and ticked the box that said "Save copy as Word document". This seemed to work fine. But when I close the document and open it again a box pops up saying "Character borders aren't supported and were removed." Now after that box has popped up and I try to close the document it says I have to save changes. So I figure that it has to do with "character borders" being removed and so I try to save changes. But it won't just save, the window pops up telling me to name the file and choose were to save it. But I did this when I first created the document? Anyway so I name the document the same as it was before and save it in the same place, then it says a document named "name here" already exists would you like to replace it.
