OS X :: Turn Off - Close Switch On Bottom Of The Wireless Mighty Mouse When MBP In Sleep Mode?
Mar 27, 2009
I was wondering if i need to turn off / close the switch on the bottom of the wireless mighty mouse when my MBP is in sleep mode....it seems that when i don't the mouse still connects and the screen kicks back on for a few seconds.....not sure if this is the case, but the logo on the outside of the case lights back up.

I know that the general consensus here is that the Mighty Mouse is a piece of shit. That notwithstanding, I'd appreciate posters refraining from engaging in further elaborations on that concept when replying to this topic (i.e., no comments like "Buy a new mouse," please).
At any rate, I purchased a wireless Mighty Mouse about a month ago and was very happy with it until the batteries apparently died. One day the pointer simply stopped responding and the green light on the bottom of the mouse was flashing. I replaced the batteries and the mouse resumed normal operation. Then, a few days later it happened again. I have yet to re-replace the batteries and have reverted to using my now eight-year-old Logitech dual-optical mouse (possibly the finest peripheral I have ever owned). Has anyone else encountered this issue?
Is this mouse having internal hardware or software issues or is it normal for it to devour batteries at this rate? System Preferences says that Bluetooth is maintaining the connection properly, so I am ruling that out as an issue. I would just say to hell with it, and use my Logitech mouse full-time, but my wife hates it and I payed seventy goddamn dollars for the Apple product.

I installed windows 7 in boot camp, and the drivers that were necessary for my wireless mighty mouse to work. But i have noticed that after not using the mouse for about 5 seconds, it sort of falls asleep. I have to click the mouse and wait a second for it to be active again. I have looked in settings and not found a solution.

My new Magic Mouse appears as a wireless Mighty Mouse on my iMac 10.6.2. When I open the mouse Preferences Panel, I get the options for the Mighty Mouse, not the Magic Mouse. It worked fine on my hackintosh with 10.5.8 but not with 10.6.2, so it seems the culprit might be in 10.6.2? It seems that USB Overdrive is the culprit for some, but I don't have it.

Ever since I have updated my Macbook Pro to the newest version of OS, it will go into a sleep mode when I close the lid that I can only wake with powering off the entire computer. I used to be able to close the lid for the night, open it in the morning, and it would be like I never even left it overnight. Now I try to wake it up with pushing everything possible. Is this new to the update? I even tried to set the settings to "never sleep".

When I asked someone at the Apple store they said I don't need anything else to make the wireless mouse work, I could just start using it. But the G5 manual was saying something about needing to plug some device into a usb port to make bluetooth devices work.

When using my iMac, all of a sudden, my Wireless Mighty Mouse suddenly slows down. So if I move my mouse across the screen, it lags behind and appears a little jerky/erratic. It seems as if there is something hogging the system resources and that is slowing down the movements of the mouse.

I just installed the RC of Windows 7 on my iMac using Boot Camp. The OS installed fine and all seems fine (WiFi, sound etc.), except for some reason I can't seem to be able to use my (bluetooth) Apple wireless keyboard and mighty mouse. I am currently being forced to use my old keyboard/mouse that I had on my old PC.

I recently notice that whenever i close my macbook the fan would kick in while in sleep mode. in addition because of the usage of the fan while in sleep mode my battery consumption diminishes very quickly. also after i open it up the macbook is frozen (the screen does not come on and i must restart manually). ive had my macbook for about 2 year and have gone through about 240 battery cycles.
I have a Apple MacBook "Core 2 Duo" 2.2 13" (White-SR) Specs (MB062LL/B)

I have a problem with my Mid-2012 non-Retina MBP. When I close the lid, it takes around 4 minutes for the light indicator to dim and it's not safe to move the machine as it's probably doing something and it's HDD is probably still spinning. It's not like this for my friend's machine, even though it's an older machine.

My iMac is some 2 years old and have never had this problem before but twice in the last week it has failed to awake from sleep mode and I have had to hold the start button to 'wake' it up. It then goes through the usual procedure that transpires afte 'logging off'

I have a little personal problem with the wireless Mighty Mouse. Just doesn't fit my hand. I have found a deal on a Logitech MX Revolution mouse. Does anyone have any reasons I shouldn't buy it? (I like having separate left and right clicker-things.)

Well it will connect then when I move it around and pick it up off the table it loses connection. It just started doing this a few days ago and continues doing it. It does this in windows as well. If I keep it on the table it will be fine, but as soon as I move around and pick it up on accident barely off of the table it's connection is lost.

I went through the install process of Windows 7 on my late 2007 MacBook with my Wireless Mighty Mouse and it worked fine. When it was all completely installed, I could use the mighty mouse like perfect (even the right click would work!) until I installed the drivers on the Windows Install Disk. The minute the install of the new drivers finished, my mighty mouse didn't work. I couldn't add it in the bluetooth devices either. I have no idea whats going on.

I've been using the Wireless Mighty Mouse with my MacBook Pro for a few days now and I'm really liking it a lot. However, there is one problem. It seems like right-click fails quite a bit and especially while playing World of Warcraft. I was initially blaming the game but usually when the mouse fails, I can right-click with the touchpad right away. Is this mouse known to be glitchy on right-click or do I have a bum mouse?

I've got a bluetooth mighty mouse and a 13" MacBook Pro. Yesterday, the mouse started losing its connection. It would just suddenly die and I'd have to go into my bluetooth settings and disconnect (because it wasn't actually disconnecting that end) and then reconnect it.

I'm completely new to forums, but I've been googling for hours and have restarted several times already... My wireless Mighty Mouse has stopped working (only on my Windows XP partition). It has worked fine for the last year or so, and today, it wasn't connecting. Not a big deal at first, sometimes I have to turn it off and back on... but then it continued not connecting.
I checked the bluetooth preferences and unpaired and re-paired my mouse several times. It was detecting it from my computer AND pairing, but the mouse is still not working. I've tried updating drivers, reinstalling drivers (which is what took me a LONG time to get the "apple bluetooth radio" back. I didn't realize that that could only be installed by reinstalling the chipset).Ok I just keep going and going. I'm just a *little* frustrated with this whole mess.

My Wireless Mighty mouse is an amazing mouse. Paid $79 dollars for it, so I wasn't going to let it die when the ball got all torn up after it's long term use.I didn't feel like cracking open my no longer used wired mouse to confiscate it's ball, so I looked for another solution. I found this small metal marble, the same size as the mighty mouses ball. I put it inside, put the mouse back together, and now I have a unique, working mouse. I posted some pictures, as I felt it looked cool, and thought I would share the idea with others.

2010 iMac running 10.9.4. Lately certain programs are forced to close on a regular basis. This includes Safari, Mail, Crashplan. It usually happens when the computer is sleeping. When I wake up the computer first thing in the morning, I usually have 3 - 4 messages saying that certain programs were forced to restart. This can also sometimes occur when the computer is not sleeping, but when I am using it. Typically it's Safari that is forced to restart.
Recently upgraded RAM and added Crashplan software for data backup.

Clicking with the left and right mouse buttons doesn't seem to be working properly. I first realised this when a message box warning me of low disk space popped up and I couldn't click on OK. Scrolling with the ball works, as does clicking with it. I restarted my iMac and removed the batteries from the mouse for a minute, but all that happened was that left and right clicks started acting like middle clicks. A wired mighty mouse works fine. I've tried cleaning it by turning it upside down and rubbing the ball on paper and a clean damp cloth, no change.
