I am a very new mac owner. I have had my IMac 27 for about 2weeks now. Someone told me that I would be able sync my IPhone 4 with my new mac without plugging in my phone to the mac with the usb cable.
I used Macthe Ripper to rip my sons chuggington dvd to my macbook pro, then i used handbrake to convert it, i managed to copy the converted file to my itunes library, but when i symc my iphone 3gs, it says it won't copy the file because it can't be played on my iphone.Several forums mention using the iphone/ipod touch preset when converting in Hnadbrake, now i may be a numpty, but i cant find this preset anywhere?! The closest thing i can see is an apple button/setting.when i selected apple and told it to play again, it said it would overwrite the prev converted verison. It took hours to convert the first time, if I do this, will it really work? Or will I waste another 3 hours?!
I unfortunately lost my whole itunes library that was on an external hard drive. I was able to download my music and apps stored in icloud. I want to sync my iphone and ipad to itunes for mac without erasing everything on these devices. can this be done keeping all my apps, music, folders intact on these devices.
10.5.8, 2.16 Core 2 Duo, 2 gb, Itunes 9.0.2 (25), iPhone version 3.0 on a 3G virgin (not unlocked/broken) I can't get my Iphone to sync or charge. I've uninstalled & reinstalled itunes several times, trashing the preferences and killing the itunes helper. I've reset the pram. I've rebooted multiple times with the iphone connected. I downgraded from itunes 9.1 and tried it all again but made no difference. The computer doesn't see it. The usb ports work with other hardware. The sync cable charges fine with the wall outlet adapter. Can't think of what else to do. Please don't make me go buy a blackberry. It will bring a curse upon my household and my children's children.
Since the MacBook Air has limited hard drive space, I'm wondering - Would it be possible to "sync" things like music, photos, videos, etc. - like I can with my iPhone? I'm thinking I could sync the MacBook Air with my desktop, and take with me only the photos/music/etc that I want to travel with.
I have an iPHone and iPod shuffle and am pretty new to using iTunes.
I'm reinstalling my OS and basically will have a new computer when I'm done.
Is there any way to save the songs and playlists that I put on my iPhone and iPod shuffle?
I did a test run and sync'd my shuffle to a new machine and it erased everything but fortunately I re-sync'd it back on my present machine so I still have everything.
so i want to sync my iphone back with my newly reformatted mbp, but it wants to erase it. i just want to be able to transfer my contacts back onto my mbp
an to do list app that has an iphone app and a dashboard widget or mac program that syncs to each other, so i can type something on my iphone and it shows up on my mac and if i type something on my mac it shows on my iphone
I have an Iphone and I have a macbook pro. Now, I used to have at my work Hosted Exchange were all my contacts were on. Now, lost my job and now I want to delete the workaccount (mail). When I do that, my Iphone erases all my contacts on my iphone, which i don't want of course.
Now, what i did, I have tagged all the boxes in entourage to sync with Icall, etc. BUT when i do a sync from Itunes, it whipes away all my contacts again, because it probably takes it from the empty folders. So that's a big issue. I'm not able to get all my contacts into Entourage or I call. Normally when you put the cable in, it should sync everything from the iphone to your mac right? Well it doesn't. It doesn't even asked the question. I have no clue what to do anymore or how to get my contacts into my entourage, so i can make a new e-mailaccount (personal one) and link everything together.
I'm signed in to my same iTunes account on my Macbook as my PC. But to sync with my Macbook it wants to wipe everything. How can i make my iphone syncable with my Macbook now without erasing everything?
We just purchased a new iMac, and I am trying to sync my iPhone 4 and update all of my contacts to the new computer. Contrary to what I've read on these forums, it does not do this automatically. I've plugged it in and tried several ways of syncing my contacts
My Iphone recently got stolen and I am now using my friends old iPhone. I was wondering how I can sync my friends iPhone to my iTunes so that this iPhone I'm using now gets synced with all my contacts, photos, apps, music etc. I am hesitant to click on 'sync' and 'restore' because my friends old iPhone still has his stuff on it and I don't want to lose my stuff on my iTunes.
I can't get my iPhone 5c to sync with my Macbook Pro. I upgraded to Yosemite and I have the latest upgrade on the phone 8.1.1 and both are connected to iCloud but the problem persists. Don't care about music and photos, but do need my calendar, contacts and notes to sync.
I have an upgrade question also. I have an older PowerMacG4 dual 1.25. Im running OS 10.4.11, it appears that I may be able to upgrade to 10.5. But will I be able to update to 10.5.8, it says that anyone running OS 10.5 can update, but I am unclear, as I thought I read that this requires and intel chip to do so.
Need to update my system so that I can sync and update my iPhone 4 that requires iTunes 10.1, which I can not install now.
So I finally found some applications to change .mkv files to .m4v/.mp4 without taking hours to convert the file itself. The two best ones that I have found are Subler and MKVTools. One problem, though. I can add videos (720p) remuxed from .mkv to .m4v using Subler to iTunes but they won't sync to my iPhone 4. I'm thinking it's because the audio codec in the files is AC3 and iTunes needs AAC. I can't figure out how to do that using Subler. Everything works fine with MKVTools, but it takes at least ten to fifteen minutes longer, which is inconvenient for remuxing several TV show episodes.
I almost posted this in the iPhone forum, but then realized it wasn't an iPhone problem, it's a laptop problem. My iPhone 3Gs running firmware 3.1 will not sync with my iBook g4 running OS 10.4.11. I have the newest available versions of both iTunes and Safari. The phone WILL sync with my wife's Macbook, so I know it isn't the phone. I am stuck with the iBook for now, because my house was burglarized and my Macbook Pro was stolen.
I've been trying to find some sort of program that would allow me to sync passwords between my Macbook and iPhone. Right now I just have a very basic program that you just have to type in one password for on my Mac--this is all I need--just something really basic that's password protect.
What is the best way to sync all my email, addresses, phones, etc?
Right now I turn off MobileMe's syncing with all devices except my MacBook Pro. Then, when I sync my devices throughout the week with iTunes everything eventually.
I've had problems with duplicate contacts and calendar items which is why I scared to experiment. Am I doing it the best way?
I've had a MacBook Pro for a while and had been syncing my iPhone to it, and just got an iMac. I'd like to start syncing to the iMac (as well) so that I can have copies of all my stuff on all 3 devices. Is this possible? AppleCare tech support says "no" but I don't see why it should be. (my main reason for this is so that I can download applications or application updates from whichever computer I'm on, and don't have to wait until I'm on a certain computer to administer my iPhone)
I was thinking that to sync the applications to both devices I might have to copy them from my MacBook Pro to the iMac before syncing the iPhone to the iMac.. and I might have to be equally careful to make sure that the iMac has all the media/files that I want it to have before syncing to the iPhone --- lest I do something like wipe out all my iPhone music because there isn't any yet on the iMac.. so I'd first:
1. copy from MacBook pro to iMac all music, photos, apps (contacts, calendar are synced to Outlook so there's no worry here
I have a Mac Mini with OS 10.5.6 and I can't get it to sync with my iphone. Under the bluetooth icon at the top of the screen I've selected Bluetooth setup assistant. It asks me to select a pass key, i type one in and then type it in on the phone and it says they are paired on the phone.
On the Bluetooth setup assistant it says there were no configurable services on your device. What I was hoping to do was automatically download the pictures from my phone into iphoto via the bluetooth. I'm not even sure if that can happen.
This is my first mac and I'm not very familiar with the extra things it can do. Can someone tell me if downloading my pictures via bluetooth is possible and how to do it? Will it try and answer my calls via the bluetooth or will I still have the phone ring and be able to talk on it like normal even if it's connected to the computer?
I transferred all my music to this computer, and also authorized it. Whenever I hook up my iPhone to my computer, it appears in iTunes and the iPhone sync page opens, but when I push "sync" nothing happens. Why does my phone not sync to my iTunes now?
For some reason some of my iTunes music won't sync to my iPhone 4. All my software is up to date and I have the playlists I want copied over as you would if you wanted to add them to the phone's library. Maybe my settings are wrong or something. A few screenshots are attached for your convenience.
Mac Book Pro 15-inch, Early 2011 Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50d)iTunes 10.5.3 ( can't update because where I am at the network is too slow)iPhone 4 iOS 5.01 (can't update same as above) HDD corrupted a week ago. Reinstalled fresh copy of Lion and started over. I did not do a complete restore of what I had because I wanted to clean it up anyways.... I have a complete Time Machine backup though. So now when I go to sync my iPhone it wants to erase it because it says its sync to another computer. I already copied all my media back to iTunes from backups.
