If there is a page with all the trackpad shortcuts. I know two finger scroll, but I think there is some way to use two fingers to right-click, and something else to zoom.
View 14 RepliesI have an late 08 unibody Mbp and a 11 mba, I have noticed the glass trackpad on the air is much closer to the glass on an iphone in the way your finger reacts to it... the least bit of moisture and your finger doesn't glide as easily. On the pro it seems to have more of a coating to allow for smoother use under these normal conditions (humidity). Has anyone else noticed this? bottom line the air trackpad almost seems more polished.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy MB's trackpad button is spoilt, I think there's something wrong with the spring which makes it unclickable and sometimes remains pressed.
Is there anyway to disable only the trackpad button but not the whole trackpad? Tapping still works, but the MB mistakens it as dragging sometimes because the button is stuck as a pressed button.
Is there a list of key shortcuts for all mac's. Maybe in a pdf form or something?
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery time I depress my trackpad (the one built into my MBP 15" mid 2009) It is doing a slight squeak...Now I'm meticulous about how well I keep my beloved MBP... but I do use it everyday for many things (Including design, word processing, accounts, pwning the microsoft network at my office)
But I am guessing that these things are built to last... and shouldn't have an effect on how much I have used it right... Should I take it to Apple and let them have a look at it is there a quick thing that I can do to mend it? Or should I just get over it and accept it as quirk of it's character?

Why I can't use the copy and paste short cut if I use it from and to different application, for example from safari to Mac Office Word, from Word to dictionary. However it work if I copied it using the Edit menu and then copy it at the other application by using the Edit menu again.

Just thinking down the road, so please bear with me. Regarding adding a HD and possibly ram at a later date. I have a couple questions...1.) If adding or replacing in the first year, will that void your warranty??2.) How is the ram module configured on a MacBook pro?? If it cam with 4 GB then can I just add a 4 GB card or do you have to get a straight 8 GB card??3.) If upgrading to a bigger HD, can you just do a backup restore or do you have to totally reinstall from the scratch??

My Macbook wont copy and paste anymore using the keyboard shortcuts or the menu options. When I go to copy something that is fine but when I paste it no matter how many characters I have pasted I get a one star character. For example if I copied this text. This is what I get below when I paste it. I don't think that i changed anything in my settings. My Macbook is only a little over a month old 2.4ghz 4 gigs ram OS 10.5.4.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEarlier when i was using Internet Explorer in windows, i used to save in Favourites the various links of common web sites which i used to visit for avoiding searchng for these web sites again and again. Now, after switching to Apple, when i started using Safari, i was looking for similar Favourite folder to save common bookmarks, but i did not find any. Instead, i got one folder as Popular, which i feel as equivalent as Favourite in internet explorer.Â
Now, to organise the links in alphabetical order, i am unable to organise, since i did not find any option for the same.

View 24 Replies View RelatedSo a little bit about my situation: I have a macbook pro and recently moved my iTunes library to an external drive since I was running out of space on my computer. Obviously I changed the library folder to the one on the external in preferences ect. The only problem is that I'm not carrying around the external with me all the time, in fact, recently I connected the hard drive to sync the month's worth of new music I got and even after changing the library folder to the external one, only about half the songs from my whole library would play.
It's really a pain to add new music to the hard drive too because it keeps prompting me to replace the files. Long story short, I'm obviously not going about this right. Is anyone in the same situation as me/do you know of a better way to keep track of a library on external? If I didn't explain clearly enough (which i probably didnt) dont hesitate to ask.
I'm purchasing a Macbook Pro and I will be using it primarily for video and photo editing. I will need strong hd write performance for video encoding. I would also like a very fast load time for my apps such as photoshop and final cut. I am considering SSD drive for fast load of my apps. I would put the OS and all apps on the SSD. I would get a second drive, the fast Momentus XT from Seagate, and install it where the DVD drive is currently located. I would use the second drive for all data such as photos and video. This would give me fast write speeds for encoding and transferring video and photos from the camera to the MBP.

I wan tot speed up the startup and I think I have to many programs runnning at startup. On my PC I used to control that from sys config,is there an equivalent in Lion.

I spilled alcohol on macbook keyboard, so I bought and just received a wireless keyboard which I paired with my computer, but the shortcuts at the top of my keyboard aren't doing what they should be doing. I went into system preferences and was able to change it so I can change the brightness, but from F7 to F12, where you are suppose to be able to change the song, play/pause, mute and turn the volume up and down, it does other things. I've tried adding an application to my keyboard shortcuts, added iTunes and then wrote "Volume Up" and set it to F12, and "Volume Down" and set it to F11, but it didn't work. Is there certain words I have to put for it to work?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI glanced over the forums but didn't find any similar issues. Basically, Expose, Spotlight and spaces won't respond to any keyboard shortcuts (ie. Pressing F12 doesn't bring up the Dashboard, pressing Fn+F8, F9, F10 doesn't work, F11 won't hide all the windows, Command+Space bar won't invoke the Spotlight search bar, etc). what's really interesting about it is, all of these features are apparently working correctly (ie. Clicking directly on the Spotlight icon will bring up the search bar, using an active corner will perform its Expose function, etc).
View 18 Replies View RelatedI recently ran an update for my Macbook Pro. After the update, the volume keyboard shortcut does not work. I have the setting for the function keys to work like normal function keys so I have to press the fn key to change the volume. This does not work and changing the setting does not work. I cannot add a shortcut either. Whenever I push the shortcut, I get a grayed out screen with a symbol showing that I cannot change the volume. I can still make changes by clicking on the volume symbol at the top of my screen but I really need the shortcut back.
