OS X Leopard :: Mail Won't Delete / The Message Goes From Inbox To Trash?
When I click delete, the message goes from my inbox to my trash. But if I go out of my inbox, check my trash (and see that deleted message), then go back to my inbox, the message reappears. Also, the number of messages in my inbox never goes down after I click delete. I tried rebuilding, deleting my envelope index file, and trashing my preferences. I think this started happening after I received one message, which then came in about an addition 9 times. Did that hang everything up?

OS X Leopard :: Can't Delete Bulk Mail Message Because Can't See End Of Error Message
My problem started trying to send bulk mail. I received the message "cannot send message using the server outgoing..... The server “outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net” did not recognize the following recipients:" The problem is it is showing all the addresses I put in which doesn't end at the bottom of the screen. I guess at the end of the box, there must be some kind of choice I can click, but I just can't see it. I tried changing the screen resolution but still can't see the end of the message. I have to Force Quit to get out of Mail. How can I delete this message?

OS X Leopard :: Cannot Delete Inbox Message From Certain Sender
My Apple Mail is doing something weird. I can't seem to delete a message from my inbox from a certain sender. I've had no problems in the past with deleting messages from this sender. I also have no problems deleting messages from other senders. I click on the message - and DELETE it. The message then turns a light grey ... and then re-appears in my inbox? OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Mac Mail Loses All Mail In Inbox Except For One Message
One IMAP account is intermittently losing all mail in inbox except for one message. After doing opening program the receive wheel spins for a long time, but at this point there are only 170 emails in the inbox because we moved all the rest to the on my mac inbox to try to solve this porblem. There are two accounts, both from the same provider, but one of them takes a long time to receive new mail. The wheel spins for a long time - each time it gets mail. Several times after finishing receive cycle, all the mail that was in the inbox disappears, except for one. I was able to get the emails to retrn by going into settings>accounts> and changing a random setting and then changing it back the way it was. All settings appear to be correct and match the other other account that is working correctly. Info: Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I was having some difficulty deleting a certain file from my trash. I googled it and found this thread: this thread. I followed the advice by inputing the following code into terminal: osascript -e 'tell application "finder" to quit' rm -rf ~/.Trash Well, it worked. But now things that I delete don't stay in my trash can and are automatically permanently deleted. Any ideas on how I can fix this problem? Information: MacBook Mac OS X (10.6.2)

OS X Leopard :: Mail Won't Allow Search Of 'Entire Message'?
In Mail (Version 3.5 (929.4/929.2)) I've suddenly lost the ability to search in Entire Message category. It's just grayed out. The others are working fine (From, To and Subject). This issue came about immediately after a restart. I've tried restarting again (hadn't restarted for some time before today!) Permissions Repair, and Caches clean (using Onyx). I've thought of trying it in my test account but I don't quite know how to do that with mail and how to get the messages over to that account to try the search. OS X :: Certain File In My Trash Bin That Won't Delete?
There is a certain file in my trash bin that won't delete, I don't believe it is locked or anything, it just says, "The operation cant be completed because the item sixtyforce is in use." "sixtyforce" was this emulator that I downloaded, but it was the older version of it, so I wanted to delete it, but that message keeps coming up.

OS X :: Empty Trash Won't Delete Particular Files?
When I empty my trash they all delete except 2 particular files. They have weird names with symbols in them. I don't know if it matters but when I press get info it says they are in the Windows XP .Trashes folder. I used a hidden file application to look for them and delete them but that didn't work. I can't drag them out the trash can. There is nothing showing in Windows XP in the recycle bin. I tried verifying the disk. Overall, nothing has worked at all and I've searched everywhere for an answer.

OS X :: File With Odd Characters In Its Name Won't Delete From Trash
I was in the process of deleting Bioshock from a Windows fat32 drive while in OS X on my January 2008 Mac pro when it was unable to do so due permissions on some of the files and folder, so I just placed the whole bioshock folder back on the fat32 formatted drive, however ever since there has been a file in Trash labeled ␀␀␀␀␀. that wont be emptied, I do not receive a error message when I try to empty it, it just remains in there. I am unable to use the get info right click option as when I do so the ␀␀␀␀␀. file vanishes for a few minutes and then just reappears in the Trash. I am unable to move the file any where as when I try to do so it is as if I have not clicked on anything and the os does not acknowledge that anything has occurred.

OS X V10.5 Leopard :: Apple Mail Won't Update And Keeps Recovering The Same Message
My Apple Mail hasn't been working since 31st January. Every time I open it the same email just continues duplicating itself in the "Recovered messages" folder so I end up with hundreds of them. This email was the last email that was successfully sent and I was overseas at the time. When I returned home, my email would not update and it has not worked since. I have tried rebuilding and taking mailboxes offline and online. Should I delete the 'mail' folder from my library? Info: MacBook Pro

OS X Tiger :: Inbox Mail Automatically Being Sent To Trash
Every time I open my mail a certain amount of inbox mail has been automatically sent to the trash. When I move the mail back to my inbox it then moves earlier mail into the trash. If I move that mail back into my inbox it then moves earlier mail into the trash, and so on and so on. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how much mail gets sent to trash during any given incident. On other occasions it will move all the mail I have sent to myself to the trash automatically, marking some of it as spam. Other times it's a combination of mail I've mailed to myself and new mail. Whatever it is, I just want the program to stop sending mail to the trash without my consent.I don't know how to remedy this problem. I am operating on OS X 10.4.11, on a Macbook Pro, with the 2.1.3 "Mail" program. Information: MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.11)

OS X Leopard :: How Do Delete Encrypted Message That Has Frozen Up Entire Mail Program
I've spent 3 days talking to an insurance provider who sent me two inconsequential emails that have frozen my Apple Mail program in 2 computers. A pop-up appears, and when I can't satisfy it with the "right" name and password, it won't allow me to access any other emails or folders. The sender (TIAA-Cref) finally admitted they had no clue. My only choice is to turn off the machine until the next time I turn it on and see the same pop-up. I can access messages through my web browser by going to Time Warner's cable service but have no way of using my Mail program. Is there anyway to dispose of these two e-mails with their "jamming" pop-ups. Information: iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Mac OS X (10.5.1)
