Intel Mac :: Print Out The File Directory?

OS X :: How To Dump A Volume Directory Into A Text File
I have several old internal hdds that I have collected over the past 4 years and I would like to be able to see what is on them without actually attaching them to my Mac Pro. Is there a way to generate a text file (better yet, a Finder like graphical representation of the file structure) that would list the directories and files contained on a volume that is normally offline?

OS X :: Print Out Text File With The Contents Of Folder?
This is my first Mac and on my PC I would occasionally email myself a simple list consisting of what programs I have installed so that next time I format (or if something goes wrong) I would know what I had installed. Problem is, with this Mac I have too many quality software to type out by hand so I'm wondering if there is a program or a function built in to OS X (maybe terminal command even, but I'd prefer something visual) to list the contents of a folder and save it to a text file?

Snow Leopard :: Cannot Print Highlighted Text From Preview
I am having problems printing annotated pdf file from Preview using Epson Aculaser CX11NF). Specifically, highlighted text prints as a solid color bar with no text showing through at all. However, the same annotated pdf file prints fine from Adobe Reader, which I am trying to stay away from. Also, if the text is highlighted in other applications (MS word, e.g.) and then save as a PDF and open in Preview, then it prints fine, with the text showing correctly. I have a letterhead with my email address on it and having typed a long letter only the email address came out (this was in the same font as the letter but a smaller size).

OS X Leopard :: File Kind In Info Window Is Not Correct - How To Fix It
I have a strange problem. I'm getting persistent crashes with Logic Pro which may or may not involve the preference file for the Logic control surface that i use - this file resides in the user preferences folder and is called "com.apple.logic.pro.cs", ".cs" , standing for "control surface" I would guess. The weird thing is, if i open the info window for this file, it's kind is listed as "SD2 split", which is a legacy sound file type - "Sound Designer 2", with split left and right channels. This is clearly wrong. SD2 files don't have the suffix .cs, they have the suffix ".sd2" (not surprisingly) and I need to clear up why this is happening so that I can discount this as being one of the reasons for my crashes. Has anyone ever experienced the finder mistaking one file type for another? Have you figured out a solution, or a reason why it may do this? just to be clear, if i trash the file, the next time I boot logic it creates a new pref file, but it always come back thinking it's a SD2 file, complete with icon. OS X Leopard :: Finder Info Displays Incorrect File Size?
i am trying to free up space on my startup drive and while doing so discovered that my "Movies" directory, though now empty, shows a file size of 10.23GB! i've copied the folder contents to another drive and the result is that the same. in essence when i copy the movie files one at a time it amounts to a little over 1GB. but when i copy the whole folder i get 11.64GB which seems to mean that "somewhere" a ghost 10+GB space is hidden.
