OS X Leopard :: Trying To Add Canon MX850 Printer Wireless To Macbook Pro

've looked in these forums but I can't find an answer to a very simple question: where do downloaded/installed printer drivers go???? I went to Canon website, based on suggestions here and downloaded the latest printer driver for my Canon MX850. Now I'm trying to add it as my printer and I have to locate exactly where the driver went, and cannot. All I have is the .dmg file on my desktop.

IMac Intel :: Canon MX850 Multifunction Printer?
I have just purchased an iMAC and have been trying to add a Canon MX850 Printer without any luck.

I have downloaded and installed the latest Canon drivers, however when I try to add the printer all that I can see is a Fax printer identified as Bluetooth DUN.

I have power cycled the iMAC and have connected the printer after powering up the iMAC without any success. Has anyone managed to install one of these printers?

Hardware :: Using Canon Pixma MX850 Office All-In-One Printer With A Mac
I was looking to buy a printer. I already have a Epson Perfection Scanner ( its not the best but does the job)

Canon Pixma MX850 Office All-In-One Printer (2436B002) apparently is listed in Mac World as one of the top products in their most recent issue. I was hoping some real world people may advise me on whether its a good purchase. If you have one or know someone who does or know of a better printer post a reply.

I'm not looking to spend more than $200 on a printer. I'm also a designer so I'm looking for one that prints graphic design work decently. I have an old G5 tower and my new 13" white mackbook that I want it to work with too.

Hardware :: Canon MX850 Network Scanning Wireless?
Okay, new multifunction. My fiance set up the network, and I can print wirelessly. No problem. He has put it in my hands to set up the scanner function. Problems. When I connect my computer by ethernet cable to the router (also connected to the MX850), everything works as it should. When I disconnect the ethernet, the scanner doesn't recognize my computer, and the computer says that the scanner is not connected. Am I wrong in thinking that the scanner should scan wirelessly?

Snow Leopard :: Canon MX850 Driver For 10.6 - Released On Website
Looks like Canon published the updated MX850 CUPS Printer Driver. I have not installed Snow Leopard yet, but I installed the driver on my MacBook & IMac. On the MacBook, after the driver installation, I attempted to print from Bean, there was not printer selected, choose Add Printer, it searched and found the MX850, added it and printed the page. Restarted and printed from Word 2008. On the iMac, After installing the driver, I opened Print & FAX to add the printer. It instantly found the MX850 and Bean & Word printed also. So, it seems to work fine. I will upgrade to Snow Leopard in a day or two and hopefully this will continue working.

I had trouble with my printer before and I did everything from resetting it to the LAN setup, enabling bonjour, and when I enable bonjour on the printer, it worked the first time. But now months later, when I try to print, it says, 'communication error'. I deleted the printer and tried adding it again using the system preferences, printer&fax, then pressing the '+' button to add the printer but for some reason, the printer doesn't show up.

Hardware :: Fax From Mac With Canon MX850/860/7600?
OK, it seems that the only alternative to a huge Samsung duplex laser would be one of these printers.

But as it doesn't duplex for fax, the workaround would be to duplex scan and then send the fax from the computer.

Or as a last resort, fax from memory card or USB stick. Is it even possible to do that?

OS X Leopard :: Canon Selphy Photo Printer Not Working Despite New Printer Driver Installed?
I've tried to add a Canon Selphy photo printer. iMac recognises the printer through both the iPhoto application, and through Print&Fax preferences, and latest appropriate driver has been downloaded from Canon and "installed", yet nothing happens when photos are supposed to print.

Also connected is Samsung printer working fine. Selecting the Selphy printer (Vs Samsung printer) is not the answer - there is no problem 'selecting' the Selphy photo printer, just that nothing happens.

Power/USB cable etc also not the answer, as connect/disconnect from iMac shows the printer as being connected appropriately.

Snow Leopard :: Cannot Connect IP100 Printer To MacBook Via Canon Bluetooth Adapter BU-30
1) Bluetooth is on and discoverable. OS 10.6.4.
2) "Setting the Printer" procedure (iP100's on-screen manual) satisfactorily completed. Check the model name Canon iP100 series.
3) "Registering the Printer" is where I appear to have come to grief. The procedure (again from the on-screen manual) is specifically for Mac OS X v. 10.4 x. I thought it might work for SL 10.6.4...
5) "Bluetooth Setup Assistant" was different, there being no provision for selecting device type. However, I did get to Bluetooth Set Up, Searching for your printer, and the iP100 was found - Canon iP100 series (91:5B:06).
5) Pressing "Continue" stopped at "This computer is already paired with Canon iP100 series (91:5B:06)".
6) There was no prompt for "Pairing Request from" - this is apparently the vital penultimate step...
7) Bluetooth Preferences -

"MacBook is the name Bluetooth devices use to connect to this computer"..On discoverable
Canon iP100 series (91:5B:06) not connected
(Bluetooth symbol) 08-18-1a-07-8a-b2 not connected

8) From the internet, it was suggested I look for driver ip100sosmosx100us, aka ip100svst216ea24... I have not tried this yet, as I'm a cautious wee soul.

9) Some of you must have struck this "problem".

Hardware :: No Printer Selected - MacBook Pro - 10.6 Snow OS X - Canon MP990 AIO
I am very new to Mac (two weeks now) and I was having the smoothest of installations of my new Canon MP990 AIO printer. I carefully followed the instructions, went to Canon's website to get the proper drivers for this printer (because the disc does not have software for 10.6). My wireless network found the printer no problem. Heck even the MacBook found it and installed it no problem...or so I thought. Every time I try and print I see "No Printer Selected" and then when I try and repeat the step of selecting my new Canon it says you already have this printer set up and is asking would I like to set it up again. I can't seem to find where the printer software is even installed on the MacBook. Afterwards I tried installing the CD on my PC laptop. Just as with the MacBook, smooth and easy install...easier because I didn't have to download. Anyhow the PC is printing really easy. I am disappointed because all the reviews I read about this printer made it sound like a monkey could get it going. I've spent over two hours and not feeling very good about being dumber than a monkey.

OS X Leopard :: Lexmark X4650 Wireless Printer Fails To Connect To Wireless?
I've recently bought a Lexmark X4650 All-in-one wireless printer. Looks cool and has good reviews online however the set up is a complete and utter nightmare. I have already returned a HP C4580 wireless printer due to incompatibility. I am starting to think this may be something do to with the net connection / O2 wireless box II set up, however.

When I run the set up for the Lexmark wireless printer everything is perfectly fine until the printer wants to connect to the wireless connection. At this point the set up utility finds my wireless connection and asks for my Network Security Information. The only selectable options (from a drop down menu) under "Wireless Security" are "WEP 40/128-bit HEX" or "WEP 40/128-bit ASCII". Interestingly, my O2 broadband security information mentions a "WEP (64bit)" - which there is not an option for - this may or may not be an issue.

When it asks for my "password" I put in my SSID and click "CONTINUE" at which point a status box appears saying "Configuring your printer..." for a short while (approx 1 minute). This status box eventually disappears and the following box appears: "Connection Failed. Your printer could not connect to your wireless network". I then have the option to select either "Verify or change wireless network settings - I want to check or modify the wireless settings before reconnecting" or the other option is "Do not use a wireless connection - I want to use the USB cable to connect my printer to this computer".

This all happens when the computer is still connected via USB to the printer (as per the instructions). It does not find my wireless connection if the USB cable is unplugged. I am using a G4 ibook, 10.5.6 and I have an airport full-bars connection to the O2 Wireless Box II. I use a static IP.

As this is exactly the same problem that I faced with the other (now exchanged) printer, I am sure its something to do with the wireless connection set up. The printer itself contains a wireless IEEE 802.11g print server. According to the instruction manual it is "compatible with IEEE 802.11 b/g/n routers that are Wi-Fi certified". It also says that "If you are having issues with an n router, verify with your router manufacturer that the current mode setting is compatible with g devices, as this setting varies depending on the router brand/model". Is the O2 Wireless Box II an 'n' router?

However I am unable to print to the printer from the second new Mac ("Mac #2") although I have downloaded the same printer driver and have added the printer on Mac #2. The printer's name on Mac #2 is Canon D460-490 (UFRII LT) @ Mac #1.I go through the motions of File, Print, but nothing happens.

OS X Leopard :: Canon Printer Does Not Work Since 10.5.6 Upgrade
I recently installed a Canon Pixma 4600 photo printer on my iMac and my Wife's Macbook as a USB printer. I also installed it to the Airport Extreme base-station so it was available as a network printer. This initially worked in all different modes. But has now ceased to work at all and even in the USB mode. I have tried to re-install the printer on my iMac and even deleted all the previous "drivers" however the printer is not printing and is not being recognised or found. I recently also upgraded to OSX 10.5.6 is this potentially the cause of the problem? I see some similar reports but no definitive answers on these forums. Can anyone confirm if there is a general issue with the OSX new update? How can I reinstall the printers as I was unsuccessful when I tried to do this on my iMac.
