OS X Leopard :: Printing With Lexmark Wi-Fi Printer Linked To IMac?
We have a Lexmark X6570 Wireless printer. This unit works flawlessly with our MacBook Pro on the AirPort Express Wi-Fi system in the house, whihc was the first Apple computer we bought in September 2007. More recently, in November 2008, we purchased a second Mac, an IMac 24-inch desktop and linked it to the AirPort Express. The problem is that we cannot print via the iMac. Whenever we ask for a print of a Mail message, a Safari web page, an Adobe Reader page, a TextEdit page or a Pages file (when we are actually working on a draft), the application closes by itself and we get the following error message (for the Mail example): "The Mail application had to close unexpectedly. The problem could be caused by the IJPrintQuality module". By the way, the only time the printer actually printed from the iMac was when I open a saved Pages file. Then it prints OK and almost every time. But that is the only instance when the iMac prints from the Lexmark. We have spoken to Lexmark on numerous occasions and reinstalled all drivers and all Lexmark software on the iMac, but without success.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Extra Page Printing On Lexmark Printer?
Since upgrading to Lion I have an extra page printing with every print job on my Optra E310 laser printer with cropped off USERID = "xxx", HOST ID = "xxx" and @PJL JOB NAME = "xxx". It seems to happen mainly in Apple applications, i.e. Mail, but has also happened in Acrobat Pro X. Admittedly, it's an old printer but according to Apple and Lexmark it is supported in Lion. I've tried every setting available but can't seem to eradicate the problem. Lexmark support, who were extremely unhelpful, kicked it straight back to Apple. Info: Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

OS X :: Lexmark X5150 Printer Driver For Leopard
I've just bought a Macbook and I've been trying to find drivers for my Lexmark X5150 all-in-one printer. I thought it was meant to be simple in leopard but my printer doesn't seem to be supported by default, like most printers are, so I looked on the Lexmark site but they only supply drivers up to Tiger, nothing for Leopard. Does anybody know if a driver exists for this printer and where I can find it, and if not, if there are any drivers that will work? I am not too worried about the all-in-one functionality, I just want to be able to print at least.

OS X Leopard :: Using Lexmark Printer/scanner And Image Capture To PDF
I am trying to use a x5250 Lexmark printer/scanner to scan with image capture. The printer installs fine and gets recognized. And I have the latest drivers from lexmark so when I use the scanner with Image Capture, it scans fine, I can save it as jpg, png, etc. The only one that gives me problems is when I try to save it as a PDF. It makes the PDF, but when I try to open it with Preview, it says unrecognized file format or corrupt. I then tried to open it on a linux machine (ubuntu) and it opens fine. Any ideas? OS X Leopard :: Lexmark X4650 Not Added To Printer Setup Utility
I'm trying to set up a Lexmark x4650 as a shared printer on a wireless network. I got one computer set up and it works perfectly. I've tried setting up the second computer, a MBP, and after getting through the whole setup process it says that the printer was not added to the printer setup utility and to launch it and add it manually. I'm sick of trying to set it up manually. Does anyone know why the setup app might not be working? Information: Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.6)

OS X Leopard :: Cannot Wireless Print From My Mac Using My Lexmark X4550 Printer
I have read all the previous forums from like a year ago about the troubles that Leopard brought to Lexmark printers, some helped a lot, although I would really like to use my wireless capabilities. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling like 15 times and I decided to post a thread here to hopefully get this resolved. I get as far as installing the printer driver but then when I go to install the printer into my print&fax under system preferences it does not allow me to add the printer... It just does not show up under my printer options. P.S. I can print using USB cable but would really like to print wireless. I was able to print wireless before I installed Leopard and have tried talking to Lexmark but no help. Information: Macbook 2GHz Mac OS X (10.5.7) Lexmark X4550

Snow Leopard :: Lexmark X4875 All In One Printer Not Working Correctly
I have an iMac with Mac OSX 10.6.2 and a PC with Windows XP Home connected wirelessly to my Lexmark X4875 printer. My printer worked flawlessly before I upgraded to Snow Leopard on my iMac. After upgrading to Snow Leopard 10.6.2 and allowing software update from Apple to install the latest drivers version 2.2 I am unable to print. When I open the print queue there is already a deleted item in the list. I think it refers to ink/ cartridge levels. This cannot be deleted and I have to uninstall the printer software and reinstall the drivers 4800serieswebinstaller 1.0.1dmg from the Lexmark website. Until recently the printer has printed and scanned ok. A couple of days ago I was notified on my iMac that there were several software updates. I installed them all except for the Lexmark printer drivers 2.2 which I know cause problems. Since the latest updates I can still print but when accessing the Scan Menu on the printer the list of computers I can scan to has become corrupted. Instead of seeing my PC and iMac I now have what looks like a Chinese symbol and a blank entry. If I select either of these I am prompted to enter a 4 digit password. I have never used the password option on the printer. I have noticed that if I remove the iMac from the Network Scan Access list in Lexmark All In One Centre then the Chinese symbol and blank entry disappear and are replaced by my PC name. I can then scan to my PC. As soon as I add the iMac to the Network Scan Access list the Chinese symbol and blank entry reappear. Can I repeat. I am still using the drivers 1.0.1 from Lexmark downloads and when installing software updates from Apple I did not include any new printer drivers. Do you have any suggestions how I can get my printer and scanner working correctly? Why do the printer drivers on Apple Software Updates not work at all? OS X :: Why Shared Printer Not Printing From IMac? (Error On XP PC)
Got a iMac running OS 10.6, and am wanting to print from a Samsung ML-1710P printer connected via serial port to a XP PC. Everything seems to all be communicating with each other, except I eventually get a print error on the XP machine in the print manager. Can anyone help with this? Notes: - the computer and printer can be seen by the mac. - when a print job is sent, the mac spools and sends it "ok" - the XP print manager status changes to "printing" then after about 1 min changes to an error. - the latest driver for that printer is installed on the XP machine. - I have tried to use the Generic Postscript Printer driver, the Generic PCL Laser Printer driver and an old Mac OS10.3 driver from the Mac end. There are no newer drivers available. I have shared this successfully printer before, but only from another windows machine.

MacBook Pro :: Lexmark Not Printing After Latest Apple Software Update
Everytime I get an Apple software update on my MacBook Pro my lexmark printer (S600 series) does not work anymore (CUPS driver issue). Lexmark support before told me to uninstall the lexmark software and then re-install the driver and software. This indeed always does the trick. But not this time! After the latest update I have tried everything, and although the printer install successfully, it won't print. The strange thing is that - even in standby mode - the printer will switch on when I press the print command on my computer, but in the print queue is says 'opening the print file and connection...' for ages, and eventually gives me an error message indicating its a CUPS driver issue. IMac Intel :: Printing To A Shared Printer On Windows?
I just purchased my very first iMac. Been a WIndows guy since there was a Windows so it's a pretty steep learning curve. I have a Windows Server at home that has a shared printer. I can successfully setup the Printer in System Preferences - Print and Fax. The problem I'm having is that whenever I try to print something, I see the following error in status screen: "Error: /Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpll.app/Contents/MacOS/rastertoescpll failed" I also tried printing a test page thru the printer setup. The iMac prompts me for my password, I see the job disappear from the print queue but nothing comes out of the printer and I receive no errors. If I jump to my Windows Home Server and print a test page, it comes out correctly so from a connectivity standpoint, everything appears functional. Information: iMac MC510LL/A Mac OS X (10.6.4)

IMac Intel :: Epson Printer Not Printing Envelopes Correctly
My printer, an Epson CX5000, has always served me well with no backtalk. Recently, when my iMac G5 died, I got a new Intel machine. I installed the Intel printer drivers and it pretended to be OK, but it messed up my printing. I am still using Appleworks, I like it and it's familiar. It may be time to move on, but the printer is acting funny with other software, too. I got Epson because the last one I had lasted for 9 years with frequent use and I really like this one, but not right now! It always used to be that I would print envelopes in portrait mode facing left. Now even with the same printer it faces right and cuts off part of the return address, no matter what I try. Neo Office and OpenOffice would not give me an envelope, and Text Edit just acted funny, it's not designed for that. Unfortunately I have all sorts of frequently used envelopes and things that I used to just pop in and print. Is this something other people have had problems with? I did not see it when I searched. Am I going to have to buy new software? Are there known bugs with Intel or with Leopard? Maybe I should go ahead and get the update to 10.5.7. Information: Intel iMac 2.4 GHZ Mac OS X (10.5.6)

OS X Leopard :: Lexmark X4650 Wireless Printer Fails To Connect To Wireless?
I've recently bought a Lexmark X4650 All-in-one wireless printer. Looks cool and has good reviews online however the set up is a complete and utter nightmare. I have already returned a HP C4580 wireless printer due to incompatibility. I am starting to think this may be something do to with the net connection / O2 wireless box II set up, however. When I run the set up for the Lexmark wireless printer everything is perfectly fine until the printer wants to connect to the wireless connection. At this point the set up utility finds my wireless connection and asks for my Network Security Information. The only selectable options (from a drop down menu) under "Wireless Security" are "WEP 40/128-bit HEX" or "WEP 40/128-bit ASCII". Interestingly, my O2 broadband security information mentions a "WEP (64bit)" - which there is not an option for - this may or may not be an issue. When it asks for my "password" I put in my SSID and click "CONTINUE" at which point a status box appears saying "Configuring your printer..." for a short while (approx 1 minute). This status box eventually disappears and the following box appears: "Connection Failed. Your printer could not connect to your wireless network". I then have the option to select either "Verify or change wireless network settings - I want to check or modify the wireless settings before reconnecting" or the other option is "Do not use a wireless connection - I want to use the USB cable to connect my printer to this computer". This all happens when the computer is still connected via USB to the printer (as per the instructions). It does not find my wireless connection if the USB cable is unplugged. I am using a G4 ibook, 10.5.6 and I have an airport full-bars connection to the O2 Wireless Box II. I use a static IP. As this is exactly the same problem that I faced with the other (now exchanged) printer, I am sure its something to do with the wireless connection set up. The printer itself contains a wireless IEEE 802.11g print server. According to the instruction manual it is "compatible with IEEE 802.11 b/g/n routers that are Wi-Fi certified". It also says that "If you are having issues with an n router, verify with your router manufacturer that the current mode setting is compatible with g devices, as this setting varies depending on the router brand/model". Is the O2 Wireless Box II an 'n' router? Information: iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.5.6)
