Snow Leopard :: Strange Login Screen - Took A Long Time To Get To Blue Screen
I turned on my Macbook running snow leopard this morning and it took a long time to get to the blue screen. After that it went to the stock spacy background of OSX and prompted me to enter my password. I did, but the dots in the password space were much smaller than usual. I pressed enter, but it took me right back to the login screen. I initiated a shutdown from there, but nothing happened. I cold booted it and it came up fine this time. I swiftly changed my password fearing a virus... I know it's unlikely, but my old PC had a run-in with trojans that's still fresh on my mind.. Any idea of what could be going on and should I be worried?

OS X Leopard :: Booting Stuck At Light Blue Screen
I searched all the topics already and it seems like my problem is somehow different. When I boot everything looks normal at the beginning. I get the apple + wheel screen and than the screen goes to a light blue and stays there. After a while it goes to a darker blue and the cursor appears but that's it. The wired thing is everything seems to be fine. I can see the computer is connected to the network and also get connected with it and copy files. I've used Disk Utility and there was no problem and I've also made a small hardware test and there is no problem found. I'm running an extensive hardware test at the moment. The wired thing is it seem to be fine and everything seems to be running behind the blue screen. The monitor and the graphic card seem to work as I can see everything on screen when I boot from a CD. It started yesterday after me installing a programme to monitor our network. I wanted to install another programme and the .dmg file didn't mount. I tried to quit the first programme and it didn't worked. Then I tried to force quit it, again no reaction. Same with all other open programmes. I tired to relaunch the Finder and that's where it got completely stuck. I was left just with the empty desktop. After a while I turned the computer off to restart it again and thats when the blue screen thing started.

OS X Leopard :: Booting Takes Straight To Just A Blue Screen - How To Stop It
I'm a new mac user (with a new aluminium macbook) and I seem to have run into some trouble with it.
Basically, I rebooted it because it was playing up and now I'm just getting a blue screen. I can see the mouse cursor, but that's it. It seems to start normally with the white screen and apple logo, then the blue one but here it just stops.

Not sure what to do at all! I have a restore disc but I've left it at university and I'm at home for the holidays. I borrowed a friend's retail copy of Leopard but I can't get it to boot from that - when I hold C down it just reboots itself every time.

Intel Mac :: Booting Up To A Blue Screen?
I'm trying to boot a relatively new intel iMac. I can boot to a blue screen, in which all that happens is the music that happens with the welcome video of mac OS X.

I currently have no keyboard to do diagnostics with because I don't have the wireless keyboard that came with the mac, nor a wired keyboard. I'm planning on borrowing a simple wired keyboard to use to diagnose the mac in verbose mode and safe mode etc.

The owner of the mac has done a complete reinstall, hence the welcome video music, and that hasn't worked, as the screen shows no sign of anything other than blue.

MacBook Pro :: Keeps Booting Up To Blue Screen - How To Repair
Every time I boot up my Macbook Pro, it boots up to a blue screen. I already talked to AppleCare about this issue and we went through a lot of troubleshooting such as repairing disks, booting up with installation cd, and re-installing Mac OSX. The only way I can access my computer is if I boot it up in safe mode. I would really like some advice from fellow users before I take my computer to the Apple Store, which I cannot find time to do.

MacBook :: Only Booting Causing To Blue Screen - How To Fix
I just installed Snow Leopard on a white MacBook. Everything was fine until I went to Update the rest of the software on the computer. I hit "Install 11 Updates", it started installing, and then it just turned off. I powered up, hit the update button again, it began downloading and then powered off again. I plugged in power and powered up and now im stuck on a blue screen with the black spinning showing up and hiding repeatedly for 5-7 seconds at a time.

MacBook Pro :: Not Booting Up - Blue Then Black Screen Appearing
I have a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5GHz/250GB HDD/2GB RAM that won't turn on, unless I leave the power button pressed, in which case, as you all know, the computer turns off again. It started about 3 days ago. Set the computer to sleep, shut it closed, took it to another room and opened it. The MBP gave me the blue screen, then black and then... nothing. At first I thought it was the HDD, but now I'm having second thoughts. I now think it's the cpu fan.

OS X Leopard :: Booting Take Long Time After 10.5.6
It seems, ever since I had OS 10.5.6 or maybe just lately, booting seems to take a little longer. I timed it at 75 to 80 sec. from the push of the START button until the full appearance of the Desktop. Ran a Dik Utility Verification, ALL is fine. Now this could be anxiety on my part, but is this OK? MBP 2.16 duo, 4 RAM, 30GB on internal drive.

MacBook :: Screen Goes Blue While Using / Diffrent Blue Colors Appear On Screen?
while i am using my macbook the screen will suddenly go blue and flash between different blue colors like it is trying to work. sometimes it comes back on but most of the time it stays like that. I have to force shut down with the button and then restart...about half the time it is still flashing blue after the restart and if it does work, it goes blue eventually.

dont know if its a problem with the screen or what because the computer continues to work...if there is a movie on, you can here it in the background and the screen just flashes.

Software :: Takes Long Time While Booting
so a few days ago I tried to install a package of new fonts using font-book. I tried to (stupidly) install something like 1500 fonts at one time, which eventually crashed my machine. When I restarted my computer, it loaded all the way to the desktop where it stalled for like 10mins and then eventually started working OK. Now everytime I restart it, the same thing happens- I get to the desktop and all that loads for the first 10 mins is the little search icon in the top right corner. I tried the restore disks and used the 'store everything in a "previous system" file' option because I am really trying to avoid a clean erase. I've also tried clearing my cache and doing a nvram clear. Nothing has worked so far. The computer is acting like it is doing a lot of extra work in the background but I can't figure out what. I am tempted to think it might have something to do with some junky fonts I tried to install but that sounds too simple. I am running a g5 Imac on 10.4.11.

I returned to an open screen digitized and frozen, when I rebooted I got through the grey Apple screen to blue where it appeared to freeze. I reset pram and smu, I can enter in safe mode and also with the original installer disc- where everything seems to be fine. While there I have verified s.m.a.r.t. status, repaired permissions, hard drive and logic board are all reporting fine, but reboot leaves me at the blue screen. I have reinstalled Leopard with an erase and install (where the welcome music plays behind the blue screen). I have gone through the forum and seen things like this but their solutions haven't worked for me-

2. Tried to reset the NVRAM by pressing option + command + r + s keys while starting up, and holding up till 3 sounds.

3. Repairing sharing setting by booting up thru installation CD. It gives some error and cannot do so.

OS X Leopard :: Mac Not Booting Properly - Screen In Sleep Mode
The problem is the screen continuously stays in sleep mode after either the computer is shutdown or restarted or the computer falls into power saving mode. I need to constantly reboot while holding the power button (and even then I need to do this a couple of times before it powers up the screen).

I tried:
1- A clean install on a reformatted HD.
2- Trashing all the preferences and the byhosts plist.
3- Clearing out the PVRAM
4- Resetting the smc
5- Running an Apple Hardware Test (which passed on everything)
6- Ran disks checks and repairs permissions countless times....

Nothing does it it just keeps on coming back..... or not coming back from it's slumber if you prefer. This is extremely anoying and to avoid losing work I disabled all the power saving function. So now shutting it down is something I really think twice about before doing.

i've tried booting from the install cd, had disk utility repair the disk, repair permissions, again repair the disk, repair permissions again, until it found no errors any more.restarting the computer gets it back into blue screen cycle mode..
