OS X Leopard :: Intel IMac Startup - Began Opening Microsoft Word?

At work, my Intel iMac running OS 10.5.6, when it starts up, suddenly began opening Microsoft Word. I've never had this problem in OS X. In OS 9, by going into the startup items folder and removing the unwanted items, the problem was solved. How can this be done in OS X?

OS X Leopard :: Microsoft Word Launches Automatically At Startup?
When I log into my MacBook Pro, Microsoft Word for Office 2004 launches automatically. This has just started about a month ago and I've had Office 2004 since 2005.

1. There is no file in "Startup" that would start MS Word

2. I've deleted the MS Word preferences file several times to combat and that hasn't worked

3. I've removed all temp files from the Microsoft folder on my username/home --> Documents --> Microsoft folder

How do I stop MS Word from automatically launching?

How do I set up my mbp to open documents with Microsoft Word 2003 "always" under VMWare Fusion? I tried to set it up but it is not an option/can't figure out where Microsoft Word 2003 is when I right click and go "Open With." It says Microsoft Word 2003 - Boot camp partition but I want it so that it "Always Open with" Microsoft Word 2003.

Basically, everything except Safari and Photo Booth continuously refuse to open. I click on them, the icon bounces for a good minute or so, and then I get a pop-up window saying it closed unexpectedly.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox four times. After the last uninstall, I didn't even reinstall it. Safari is extremely slow on my computer, and YouTube refuses to work, as well. What should I do?

I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.7 i am working on Word 2008 for Mac, version 12.0.1 (080305).

My problem, i created one text box in a document, somehow 2 more appeared. I made the mistake of thinking that to delete the extra text boxes, i simply highlight them and delete them. Silly stupid me, nothing that simple exists and i have wasted an hour trying to figure it out. The help button does squat, barely gives you any info on a text box much less trying to delete it. Does anyone know how to delete a text box in a word document?

IMac Intel :: Snow Leopard And Microsoft - Ds Traffic
I work for a school district that has a mixed environment of macs and PC's. We just recently deployed 160 iMacs with SL 10.6.4. We are behind a state managed firewall. Recently I was contacted by a network engineer from the state office telling me that we were flooding our connection with microsoft-ds traffic. Once I looked at the log I found that it was several of my new iMacs sending this traffic. Many had not even been logged into yet. They had just been imaged and were sitting there powered up. We forced a reboot on all iMacs and the traffic dropped to normal. After the macs sit for a day the traffic picks right back up and floods our network again. Some are being used and others just sitting there. Updating have been turned off.

I know I should post this on some Word:Mac forum but I trust the knowledgebase here more! Word 2004 on an Intel MacBook running 10.5.8 crashes every time. I've run virus checking software and found files with Word viruses and cleaned them....didn't fix it.

OS X Leopard :: Microsoft Word Crashing Sporadically
On some days, Microsoft Word crashes instantly and often. Crashes continue to recur after rebooting, and they are episodic - some days no crashes, other days many crashes, when editing the same document on all of these days. I often lose all my work since the last save. Other times Word recovers my edits since the last save. How do I determine the source of the problem? I realize this is not an Apple product, but the problem might be related to Mac OSX. I never had so many frequent crashes with Word before - when I converted to the Mac in May, I began having these crashes often.

IMac :: 24" Recently The Screen Has Began To Flicker?
i bought a used 24" aluminum imac (2008 model) that was about 6 months old, but recently the screen has began to flicker...usually from a half to a full second every few hours or so. it sometimes will flicker if the mac is nudged on either side, but this doesnt always happen, even when i TRY to initiate it. its not really major, but im just worried that the whole display will crap out soon. ive found threads about screen flickering with macbooks and led displays, but nothing for imacs yet. im not sure if this matters, but the person i bought it from opened it up and replaced the hard drive. another contributing factor may be that i constantly run torrents and my mac sometimes stays on for days at a time. it doesnt seem to overheat and ive never had this problem with my other imac (2007 17" white). when im not using it, i keep the disks active, but put the monitor to sleep to prevent burn in. im assuming that since this guy replaced the HD, this would void any warranty, so i think im pretty screwed as far as thats concerned unless i pay out of my own pocket.

OS X Leopard :: Microsoft Word Crashing In Notebook View?
I own a MacBook Pro, currently am using Mac OS X 10.5.8 (& will be updating to Snow Leopard soon..). I am a law student and use Microsoft Word on my Mac every day, specifically using the incredibly helpful "Notebook" layout in order to take down lectures & cases, and frequently, Word crashes, at very random & unspecific times, asks me to send a perfunctory crash report for their customer service and closes down, requiring me to save my work at a ridiculous rate because I never know when Word, in Notebook layout, will crash. It is extremely frustrating because I don't use Word save for its Notebook layout, which is a godsend to me as a student and I do need it to work reliably.

Snow Leopard :: Window Behaviour In Microsoft Word
I am running the latest version of OS X and MS Office 2008. Ever since 10.6 came out, if I have several Word documents open at once, executing a 'print' command makes the current document disappear. According to the Window menu it is still the active document, but it is invisible and I have to click on another document and then reselect the original one from the Window menu to get it back. This also happens with certain other functions as well, but most consistently with 'print'. However, it only happens on my MacBook Pro, not my iMac. I must say this is the most annoying glitch in Word under 10.6 but there are a other things affecting Excel which also remain unaddressed by the latest updates.

Snow Leopard :: Microsoft Word 2011 Freezes On 10.6.5
I installed Microsoft Office on a brand new MacBook Air and am having constant freezes (MS Word not responding/beach ball not going away) of MS Word when working on documents. This usually happens when I switch between 2 documents or at least have two documents open. I unfortunately did not save the error notes when this happened and I had to force quit but managed to replicate MS Word crashing (as opposed to freezing) by opening several files at once. Here are the error details not sure this is my original problem but likely there is something very wrong with the way word is responding since I need to work on it quite a lot and the only thing in my mind now his when I last hit save or will the whether the retrieved version (in case it is) has autosaved my changes.

Here is the error I got when MS Word crashed (several times) when trying to open documents:

IMac Intel :: Excel And Word Viewers For Snow Leopard
I got a new MacBook Air for Christmas and primarily wish to use it as a "netbook" style device. I receive a lot of Excel and Word documents via e-mail that I just want to look at. I do not wish to nor intend to use the Air to work on these apps, just to view the documents. Microsoft used to offer viewers at their download site; they still do, but not for the Mac platform. In fact their only link for Mac and other platforms on their viewer download page is a broken link, and takes you o their search page, where I was unable to find a current viewer (I found old ones for OS 9, but nothing current). I'm not interested in getting Office (or even OpenOffice); I don't need them. Does anyone know of an Office documents viewer (Excel and Word, for sure; PowerPoint is optional) that works with Snow Leopard?

OS X Leopard :: Opening Files In Word And Excel - Blank Or Nothing At All?
I am a newbie to Mac (going on my third week) and am having problems with MS Office documents and spreadsheets. Most of the time opening a .doc from Finder will result in a "cloud" but Word does not open. The same with Excel. Sometimes Word opens in a blank document, but mostly nothing at all. Sometimes it works out just fine. I haven't been able to figure it out.

If I open the same document from Word (File-Open), then it always works just fine. The same happens with email documents, the file downloads but nothing else happens.
