OS X Leopard :: To Host Website - 403 Forbidden Error?
I am trying to host my web page from my mac. I have enabled web sharing in the sharing folder, and I have my web page in my sites folder named index.html. When I click on the link in web sharing to take me to my page [URL] I get a 403 forbidden error. It says that I don't have permission to access ~Busen on this server. I am the only account on this computer & I am the administrator? Why isn't this working? I used disk utility to repair permissions, and all were ok except a SUID file that couldn't be repaired.

OS X Leopard :: Enabled Web Sharing Got A 403 Forbidden Error - Apache Is Working
After a fresh leopard install after my mac's hard drive died off, i enabled web sharing on it but got a "403 Forbidden" error when i try accessing it. I'm stumped as to what it is.

Apache is working, i made another account for testing and i can access that account's web space works fine. The configuration for my webspace (~/osoroco/) is exactly the same for user test.

Here's some info to help on this issue:

in: /private/etc/apache2/users
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 142 Jan 31 16:01 osoroco.conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 140 Jan 29 14:55 test.conf
so they're being read by apache
error log entry on accessing ~osoroco/
Sun Feb 01 15:24:40 2009 error http://client (13)Permission denied: access to /~osoroco denied

and access log entries on both - - 01/Feb/2009:15:27:56 -0400 "GET /~osoroco/ HTTP/1.1" 403 211 - - 01/Feb/2009:15:28:51 -0400 "GET /~test/ HTTP/1.1" 200 2628 - - 01/Feb/2009:15:28:51 -0400 "GET /~test/images/gradient.jpg HTTP/1.1" 200 16624

Server V10.6 Snow Leopard :: ICal Server Responded HTTP 403 Forbidden
I've seen several users getting the following error message in iCal: Access to "x" in "x" in account "x" is not permitted. The server responded: "HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden" to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation. Then giving the option to either Go Offline or Revert to Server. The web calendar then works perfectly. It seems to be happening in several different environments in the last week or so.

OS X Leopard :: 403 Error On Local Host - Access To Severs Root Fine
I had this working when I was running Tiger, but now that I have upgraded to Leopard I can't get user Sites directory to work with Apache. All attempts lead to a 403 error but I can access the servers root just fine. All of my config files are still the default that Leopard ships with, I have thought this was a permissions problem until now (have permissions set to 755 now). Is there anything that I need to change with the httpd.conf or else were to get this to work?

You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected.

Server V10.5 Leopard :: Apache Error 403 When People Try To Access Website?
I never had this problem until I updated to OS X 10.5 Leopard server. I followed the support article Apple has involving creating a .conf file and using the sudo command in Terminal but that didn't do anything to help. The support article seemed to be for the client version of Leopard anyways. How do I remove this restriction so people can see my site???? I know it's nothing wrong with my ISP or my port forwarding on my router because none of this happened until I upgraded the OS.

So I stumbled across Web Sharing today, and thought I'd try it out. I got the Forbidden error, and looked up a solution. I found this page: [URL] I did everything that page said, and then I tried again. It didn't say Forbidden, this time it said "Safari can't connect to the server." I have the index.html file in the Sites folder, and I am using Safai 4.0 beta. This wouldn't simply be a bug in beta, would it?

Mac OS X Lion Server :: Error 403 On MOVE In CalDAV?
We have installed a very new Mac mini 2011 with OS X Lion Server and we added four users there. This four users should share their calendars with each other so the system is designed as a CalDAV- and CardDAV-server. We have set up all necessary nameserver entries, installed all updates.

On our Lion workstations (Mac pro) we connected iCal with our new Lion Server, works like a charm, but only for two days.

Since yesterday we get 403 errors on MOVE (only). Means one creates a new entry at the calendar and try to "move" this entry to another users calendar. Immediately after storing we get "Server reports error" and "Answer: 403 in action CalDAVMoveEntityQueueableOperation" (translated from german). At the servers logfile we found only one entry per move which says: - username [04/Apr/2012:19:23:20 +0200] "MOVE /calendars/__uids__/96C658FB-6B37-416D-B16C-7663E61E5770/60c71d0d-d3ac-4efd-8c2 6-5beb164c65c3/01F30AFE-6E4E-44AF-ABAF-4F051895E694.ics HTTP/1.1" 403 154 "-" "CalendarStore/5.0.2 (1166); iCal/5.0.2 (1571); Mac OS X/10.7.3 (11D50d)" i=2 t=48.5 or=1

We have checked all other logfiles and are unable to find any hint for this error.Yes the sharings are set well and we can reproduce this error. As an act of desperation we deleted all calendar entries, deleted users, restarted the server, re-created the users and calendars - same thing as before.

Mac OS X Lion Server :: ICal Server Shared Calendars "403" Error?
We are currently running a 10.7.4 Server with 10.7.4 clients. The problem is with the calendar system's sharing funtion. Some users will consistently receive an error message "403" Stating that the user does not have permission to edit the item when they edit an item or change an existing event to another user's shared calendar. After some troublshooting I found that if I made the claendar in question the default calendar in iCal, I was able to create vents without problem. I have tried removing the problemed users from that calendar's list of shared users, and changing permissions back and forth from Read to Read/Write without any success. There are no iCloud or MobileMe accounts on any of the client machines, a pertinent negative as searching for a resolution to this issue yeilds many similar problems related to those services.

Summary:Creating or editing an event in a shared calendar within iCal (while not the host of sdaid calendar) results in a error code 403. However, when the user in question changes their default calendar to the shared calendar, there is no issue creating new events. The issue is only persistant with a few users. Other users have no issue manipulting existing records in the same shared calendar.

OS X Lion Server (10.7.4)
iCal service is configured properly
Clients are all running 10.7.4
