OS X Leopard :: AirPort Cannot Find My Wireless Network?

We have a wireless router connected to the main computer, it is WPA and I have the password. I couldn't connect to the network, so I restarted the router, restarted my Mac and now it can't find my wireless network name whenever I look in the 'Network' preference pane.

If I have the Wireless Network setting on my router set to "Hide Wireless Network" my Mac can't find the network after I have restarted it.If I leave the "hide wireless network" box unticked everything works fine, but I would prefer to have it hidden.

Two windows-based laptops also use this router and they work fine with the wireless network hidden. The router is a D-link DSL-2740B.Has anyone else had this problem?

Snow Leopard :: Unable To Find Wireless Network With 10.6.2 / What To Do?
After updating my MBP (2.67 GHz, 4 GB) from 10.5.8 to 10.6.2 I am unable to use the wireless network at work. The network cannot be found. I had flawless connectivity when using 10.5.8 on the same wireless network.

I work at an International school where the percentage of Mac's used by students over the past 5 years has dramatically increased, unfortunately, the majority of students and teachers with recent Macs are experiencing this same connectivity problem. The school IT manager says that it is a Mac OS problem as the network is a "standard configuration with the widely used 802.11G network standard".

Anyone have any ideas as to when this wireless flaw will be fixed by Apple?

If I uninstall Airport Utility and reinstall it works fine. If I close the Utililty, then relaunch, it stops working. I have to either: Uninstall, Reinstall evry time or File > Configure Other and enter the IP address Is there a setting that's making this behavior happen? Snow Leopard :: AirPort Cannot Find Wireless Signals Anymore
I have a MacBook that uses airport to get a wireless signal. Lately, if the computer is on for awhile, especially if its open but I am not really using it, the internet will go out. Then airport cannot find the wireless signal anymore. The router is fine because there are two other laptops in the house that get a signal, and my iPod touch gets WiFi as well. Also, if the internet dies at night, and I shut it down, and reopen it the next morning, it always works again. My comp is totally updated.

Snow Leopard :: AirPort Extreme - Wireless Network Broadcast
I have a current setup of my Cox Internet Surfboard Cable modem connected to my LinkSys WRT160N Wireless Router, operating in mixed mode. I have wireless security setup using WEP 128 bit ascii. I have recently installed Mac OS X 10.6.3 on my MacBook (MacBook 3,1), 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM. Each time I connect to my wireless network, I am asked to enter the WEP key and almost every time, I get a connection time out error. Other times, my MacBook will connect right up. Sometimes the airport indicator will display as though it's 'broadcasting' something. I never saw this before in Mac OS X 10.5.

Hardware :: Extended Wireless Network - Multiple Airport Express Wireless Setup
I'm working in a home/home-office environment right now which was setup by someone else and I've noticed some odd network behavior when moving about the property. Looking at the setup, the relevant portion is: Cable modem - Airport Extreme - 10 port wired switch - 3x Airport Express in different areas of the house. The configuration of each device has the Extreme and all three Express devices set to "create a wireless network" with the network name the same for all four of them. I am not a networking expert but I would have thought that the Extreme should be set to be the "master" in a WDS network and the Express should each be set to participate in that WDS network. If they're all hosting their own wireless network with the same name and the coverage overlaps, how does a PC know which one it's using? Or maybe this doesn't matter. I just know that when we move from one room to another we frequently have to re-select the wireless network to establish connectivity.

Snow Leopard :: All Over Sudden Can't Find Any Wireless Network
I've been having very strange issues with my wireless recently, however today it has "gone" for good.

1. When I'm waking up my mb from sleep I have to re-select my wireless network an sometimes re-type the password. Sometimes I cannot see any network, but simple turning off and on the airport make it all good.
2. Today earlier it happened again but after re-typing the password it came with Connection tiimeout .. So I thought I might type wrong password, but after few times it didn't connect at all. So i went to restart mb and after restart I cannot find any networks around at all. The strange thing at all is after couple of restarts the airport found the network (meanwhile I turned off the WPA password protection on router) and tried to connect .. Connection timeout again ..

I've been searching few hours for a solution and found a few topics with similar issues but no solution has helped me so far. Thing I've tried: remove the wifi network from a list of remembered networks restart both the router and mb Oh and I forgot to mention my iphone and the other laptop (running Win7) have no issue with finding and working with wireless

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: 2006 IMac Won't Stay Connected Via Airport To Wireless Network
I recently moved and am connecting my iMac (2006 Intel) via the internal Airport card to a high-speed cable network here at home.

For some reason, my connection started off fine but after a few hours (sometime minutes) of browsing the web, the connection will slow to a crawl or just stop completly.

I've tried changing the DNS settings, turning Airport off/on, re-booting the wireless router (it's a Netgear) all to no avail.

The connection will seem to be okay and then...back to the molasses slow or no connection at all. At my previous residence, I was connecting the same way without any issues.

As an aside, there are 2 iPads, 2 iPhones and a MacBook Air all connecting to the same network without any issues whatsoever.

OS X Tiger :: Airport Connection Not Made To Wireless Network "Network Settings Have Been Changed"
Last night I backed up my MacBookPro by connecting it to my desktop Mac with the MacBookPro in target disk mode. The backup completed, but I allowed the battery on the laptop to deplete. After restarting the laptop, my airport connection was not made to my wireless network. After connecting, I checked the System Preferences - Network. I get a message: "Your network settings have been changed by another application." with an "OK" button. After clicking OK, the message returns. It won't go away. I have been able to click the "click the lock to prevent further changes" in between message return to stop it. System Preferences becomes confused and I must force quit. However after reboot, I'm still not connecting to my wireless LAN unless I manually make the connection.

OS X :: Can't Get New Wireless Printer To Find Network
I've been trying all day to get my new wireless printer to find my wireless network. No joy.

I have an airport extreme router connected to an AT&T 2WIRE modem. The guys that installed the AT&T stuff recently said I normally wouldn't need the airport extreme because the 2WIRE serves as both modem and router, however it does not work with an airport express, which I have in another room to boost the signal. So when the printer looks for the (SSID) network, it sees my apple network, which is what my macbook and windows vista laptops also see and connect to. After that, I'm entering the wireless network key from the 2WIRE.

MacBook Pro :: Cannot Find Wireless Network
I purchased a MacBook Pro today. I have an iMac. I connect to the Internet via a NetGear wireless router. My son has an xBox that also connects to the Internet this way.

However, I cannot find the network when I started setting up my MacBook. I rescanned several times and couldn't find it. There were other networks from the neighborhood but not mine.

I tried going into Other Networks. I checked the name of the network on my son's xBox and I checked the name and password via Key Chain Access. I was also able to get the password from Key Chain. I tried both network names as well as the password but it wouldn't work. I tried again when Network Configuration asked me if I wanted to access a closed network but no dice.

Hardware :: Extending Airport Wireless Network Using 2 Different Base Stations

I have followed both of the following articles without any success.[URL:...] I followed the 2nd doco (ap2124) up to point 6 and I followed the 1st doco (ap2045) from the start and applied the changes, but my older (ufo looking) airport extreme don't seem to connect to the newer Airport Extreme N. I contacted Apple support and after checking with the product specialist, they advised me that I couldn't mix the 2 devices and I would have to buy the Airport Express N and extend my network using the Express. my question is, has anyone extended their network by using 2 different Airport base stations?

I imagine every now and then they might just scan for networks to see whats out there. But if mines hidden, i shouldnt have a problem, correct? Just want to make sure. Not sure what the consequences are, but im sure they would just ask to shut it down.

OS X :: Airport Can't Find Network Until Battery Indicator Done Calculating?
I don't know if anybody else experiences this problem, but when I open my laptop (from sleep) and then try to find a network via the airport icon in the menubar it won't find anything until the battery life indicator is done "calculating". Sometimes that is around 10 seconds... I don't see how they are related, but it always works out that way for me. As soon as it's done calculating the remaining battery time I can click on the airport icon and it will find a network within a few seconds. Otherwise it just sits there searching and won't find anything...
