I have a iMac with AirPort at home. My work laptop was having serious issues so we had to re-image it. When I went home last night and tried to connect to my work VPN I was asked for my WEP or WPA. I don't remember what it is and can't find it. When I connected my daughter's new laptop (Dell) last month all it asked for was my password not the WEP or WPA.
Yesterday, I had to re-format my external hard drive so that it could be "recordable" within Pro Tools, which wasn't a major issue, I just had to move everything from my Lacie drive to another drive, do the format, and then throw it all back on. It took a little while but this also included moving my nearly 60gb itunes library. Now that it is on the newly formatted hard drive, itunes doesn't seem to be able to find the majority of the songs any more. I've tried changing the music folder and a few other things, and there is no way I'm going through and doing the "cant find music - click here to find it" palava. Is anyone aware of a way that you can "mass find" all of the music in any way other than starting the library again and adding all the music (I don't really want to lose all of my play counts and ratings if possible!)
I have a new MacBook Pro 13'. I already configured Icloud and I can find on maps devices sucha as Ipads, Iphones and Mac´s, but something is happened with my own MacBook Pro, I cant locate it on the Maps, I only see the image of the MacBook Pro and the instruction for locked it or send a message. I did all troubleshooting explained on support web page (location activevated on security, etc) and the problem still remains.
I accidentally dropped my "Applications Folder" off my Dock when I first got my Mac and it disappeared. When I put it back by dragging the applications folder onto the Dock, instead of assuming the Applications Folder logo, it took on the logo of the first application in my Applications Folder: the Address book. Now, my desktop permanantly has the picture of the Address Book instead of the picture of the Applications Folder.
How do I fix this? ive followed other thread advice with no luck. Is there a way to re-set the Dock? Where does the logo live and how do I get it back there?
I've seen several posters talk about the temperature of their GPU. I have iStat and that shows my my processor temp, but is there a way to learn more about what the graphics card is doing? I have an ATI, so Zeus won't work.
I got my mac pro a couple weeks ago and am very happy. I am going to purchase some RAM from newegg and I want to get a couple hard drives to raid0 and store all my HD videos. Can anyone recommend a hard drive.
I have a 1st generation MacPro with a Quad Xeon and 5 GB RAM. I need to get a blu ray burner. Does anyone out there know of a good quality burner that I can get for my machine? I've been looking online but I haven't been able to figure out which one is mac compatible.
I downloaded a .dmg from this website [URL] and it opened up the apple installer, claimed the instal was succesful, program titled Mac Cinema, but i can't find it in the applications, and don't see it when i search spotlight.
I have a MacBook Pro. Recently, I bought a silly little app called Remote Jr. for my iPhone. It allows me to view my desktop through Wi-FI or 3G iPhone internet from anywhere. However, the little app is nothing but trouble. I need to find the host so that the Remote program can locate my computer.

However, when i go back into the history folder library/caches/metadata/safari/history, it only goes back 6 days.Unfortunately, i really need to get stuff on that 7th day and i can't seem to find it. I bought a Powerbook G4 off craigslist from a guy and he gave me the password, but no admin name! I want to install a different OS but I can't find his admin name anywhere and he won't pick up the phone.Under Accounts there is only "Home / Standard"
I know this is nuts but I can't find the antenna in my G5. I just bought a wireless extreme card (up till now I was wired into the router and didn't need it)and the only antenna's I can find are the really small ones that I think are for bluetooth. I looked at the online manual and it tells me that it should be there (silver wire with a larger connector on the end) but **** if I can find it.
I'd understand that the iTunes store wouldn't have very low sales volume album art, but nothing for the Beatles? After loading over 100 CDs onto my disc, artwork was only found for about 40 of them.
Anyone out there have a solution to full mac HD issue?

My mac has slowed right down with "start up disc full" warning. If I "get info" on mac HD it says capacity 249.72 Gb used 249.55 Gb free 166.7Mb If I "get info" on all users I cannot find more than 80Gb used. I have run Omni Disc sweeper and Disk inventory X and both show only 80Gb of files. I have used terminal to show all hidden files and run disc sweeper and disk inventory again with the same result. I have run disc utility > verify disc permissions, repair disc permissions, and verify disc. I also ran repair disc from the snow leopard startup disc.

I have just unpacked my new macbook air and after initially thinking I would put windows 7 on it, have decided to have a bash with the mac operating system first to see if I can get used to it. I have always used pc's so this is a big culture shock. I am 54 years old but consider myself quite techy minded, more so that my technophobe kids who always come to me when they have a problem. However I'm not sure you can teach an old dog new tricks, so to speak. I know it is frowned upon to compare with windows, and, as I said previously, I do not want my mac to be a pc, but might, at some points, refer to windows, so please be patient with me as that is all I know. I am going to trawl through all the guides at the top of the page as I'm sure they will be very informative.
I will be getting office for mac as learning a new OS is enough for me to tackle right now, and my air only has usb, no sd or dvd. I have a Buffalo linkstation with all my files etc., on and want to use it frequently for file transfer. I have downloaded NASnavigator and used 'finder' to look for it. (I am assuming 'finder' is similar to windows explorer, which is where the linkstation shows on my pc.) Should the linkstation show up automatically in the left hand menu, or do I need to click on something? Would it be under 'devices' or 'places'? (It is under neither at the mo.) I have searched and found info suggesting solutions for finding the linkstation using its IP address, but before doing this want to make sure I'm looking in the right place first.
What happened: I was working late one night on a Keynote presentation. My battery ran out, and the computer did that hibernation thing it does when there's no battery power. I got my charger, connected it to my computer, and then pushed the power button. It started up for a second in to the gray screen it usually goes to. Then I turned around, tugging the magsafe charger out of the connector on the computer. This caused my computer to shut down again. Now I can't get it to boot at all.I've tried pretty much everything to deal with this. Multiple forced reboots, resetting PRAM and NVRAM, etc. I booted to original OSX disc and ran disc utility, but I discovered that there is *no disc to boot to*.
