Since i don't like spoiling too much of a movie i hardly ever watch trailers but today i happened to stumble upon the "Green Lantern" one and decided to check it out.
Trouble is once i tried to open up the 720p or 1080p versions an error message popped up saying it can't find the server?
I can't watch netflix trailers...Netflix wants me to install silverlight plug-in.I am a PC user using Mac for the first time.

That's twice this week I've tried watching downloaded HD trailers through Quicktime and both times they've been stuttery and unwatchable.
Very annoying. Is it likely just the PowerBook or something else rotten in Denmark? Smaller trailers play fine.

I have tried to use iTunes, but there is no link or anything. Did Apple just cut all of this stuff completely? Is there any way to view trailers in as nice a way as front row if at all?

I could have sworn that my G5 used to be able to play all levels of HD movies smoothly as anything sometime during normal Tiger usage.
Then one day, I noticed my G5 when on Tiger would stutter playing anything about 480.
I thought the upgrade to Leopard would fix this. But just today I upgraded to 10.5.3 on this G5 (I used the upgrade option on the install DVD to upgrade from Tiger) and it STILL won't play HD trailers 720 or 1080 smoothly.
is this supposed to be? Do I not have the minimum requirements to watch those kinds of resolutions anymore?
I know this machine is 4 years old now, but seriously? That seems crazy to me.
Does anyone else have this configuration and see similar or different behavior?

Quick Time used to work fine, but now when I click on Watch Trailer in Apple Trailers, the link opens ok, but when Quick Time opens, it gives an error that says "A necessary data reference could not be resolved". When I click on Ok, the window closes.
Any ideas what to do? I did recently upgrade my hdd and used Time Machine to restore my data/programs.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a PPC iMac G4 running 10.5.8. Both in Safari and Firefox, some sites open right away (mail.yahoo.com, wellsfargo.com, apple.com). But others will not open or will take minutes to open (yahoo.com, mail.google.com, wunderground.com). Bizare for sure. Set up static IP address to find this mac on my network. No settings have changed since this system was set up a few years ago. Other PCs on my network work fiine. Also rebooted DSL modem, and router.

I don't know what the deal is. I'm trying to install 2 sticks of 2GB into my 7,1 iMac, and the screw just won't turn. I'm using a standard Phillips head, and nothin' doin'. The screw is now starting to strip, so I guess I'm going to have to take this into the friggin' Apple Store just to have them open the thing.
I have an imac running snow leopard. When I click on a pdf file it puts it in my download folder. Then I have to click the Macintosh HD, click on downloads, and then click on the file.

I have an imac with OS 10.7 I receive an error message when I try to open itunes. I also just got a new ipod touch and I get the same error message when I plug it to the computer. I guess the ipod trys to lauch itunes upon hook up. The message say " check with the deveoper to make sure itunes works with this version of Mac os X you may need to reinstall the application. be sure to install any updates for the application and Mac os X" I have reinstalled the app multiple times and checked for any updates to the OS.

I can't open almost any app on my iMac (OSX Lion 10.7.4). Every time I attempt to do so, the affected app "unexpedtely quits", showing a window (sort of expanded dialog box) with the log history, wich form a complete report wich is said to be sent to Apple. Despite that this window has a "restart" button, I haven't been able to go any further from this point, as it repeats the process again and again, impeding me to use the affected app.
This has get to a critical point, as it is afecting apps like iTunes (especifically when I turn to the iTunes Store from within te app), MacApp Store, Software Updates (I can't update anything, given this problem) and many other apps, including Aperture 3, Fusion 4, integrated Dictionary and Wikipedia, as I've been able to verify.

Every time I have tried to launch the update 10.1.3 it freezes on the info window at "Restoring window layout" with the rainbow wheel.
I have tried using Command-Option to reset the app, and trashed the Preferences when it asked. Same behavior.

I took sometime and browsed around on the Web and found some great information plenty going on about how wonderful they are on PC"s but very little with regard to converting and or opening and playing these Windows based files in the OSX environment. When I try to open the Mail program, I get the following message:
